Reincarnated With An SSS-Rank Talent In An Apocalyptic World-Chapter 98: Rank 1 C & B- Rated Limitless
Chapter 98: Rank 1 C & B- Rated Limitless
Everyone was in place to start the raid. They were just waiting for the rift to open, but my appearance seemed to disorganize the group, annoying a few people.
Kenza ran up to me with genuine worry in her eyes. This was different from the disappointment I saw when I declared I’d be joining the government instead of the military.
"Why are you here?" she asked while her eyes scanned my body. "You just regained consciousness today—you can’t be here!"
Saying this, she turned her glare to Agents Ray and Johnson, her look sharp enough to kill. The two men swallowed hard. I chuckled and shook my head, then spread my arms wide, showing off my body.
"Don’t worry. Six months of sleep was what I needed to fully recover," I said with a friendly smile. "Coming here was my decision."
Thud!
Before Kenza could respond, the exaggerated footsteps of a Limitless could be heard approaching. I guess he was doing it on purpose to get our attention, so I decided to spare him a glance—for the effort.
I regretted it instantly.
He was dressed in a red leather hooded jacket with the hood up, fancy black glasses, a black shirt, jeans, boots, and gloves—each branded with an oversized ’R’ logo that I couldn’t identify.
But what really stood out were the sheathed longsword strapped to his back and a utility belt weighed down with large, customized pouches—probably overloaded with what I could only describe as "ninja tools."
Oh, and yeah—he was about 5’6’’ at best.
To say I was unimpressed would be an understatement.
He reminded me of those superhero sidekicks from the cartoons I used to watch back on Earth, during my first life. While I’ll admit, that phase played a big part in inspiring me to start a mercenary/security agency—which made me a billionaire—it was still a phase.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t say the same for this guy.
"Big bro, that’s Righteous! The current Number 1 C-rated Limitless in America!" Jake said excitedly.
His words made a sheepish smile bloom on Righteous’s face, but I didn’t care. I was more interested in the Limitless who hadn’t moved, or even acknowledged my arrival.
He stood about 6’7" and wore an oversized lab coat with both hands tucked deep into the pockets. I couldn’t see his face clearly due to the way his long milk-colored hair fell across it, but there was something off about him—an unnaturally dull air that made my skin crawl.
"This is Adam Black, hero of Louisiana and the youngest professional Limitless in the world. There’s no need for hostility," Johnson said firmly, snapping my attention back to the scene in front of me.
Righteous was clearly taken aback by the introduction. More faces turned my way—including the eerie Limitless in the distance. His long, pale face, ghost-white eyebrows and mustache were hard to miss.
A chill ran down my spine as our eyes met.
Never before had I felt fear like that. This man hadn’t just seen horrors—he was the horror.
"Ooh, shit!" Jake squealed like a fanboy, grabbing the collar of my trench coat tightly.
"That’s Frankenstein! He’s the number one B-rated Limitless in America—and the fifth in the world!"
Frankenstein didn’t seem to care for the attention. He just turned his lifeless gaze back to the rift.
Neither did I.
Shrugging off Jake’s hand, I turned to the support units.
"Return all the supplies to the vans. I’ll handle the rest," I said loudly, drawing confused looks.
Kenza seemed puzzled too, but more annoyed that no one was moving.
"Are you deaf or something?" she barked. "Return the supplies to the vans and let the Hero of Louisiana handle it!"
That did the trick. All fifty members of the support unit slowly began hauling the bags back to the vans, shedding unnecessary load.
Everything was going smoothly—until someone grabbed me by the collar.
It was Righteous.
"You—!" Kenza reached for her gun, but his body wobbled like liquid and a second version of him emerged, pulling the longsword off the original’s back and pressing the tip to her neck before she could react.
The entire longsword was made of Aether.
I didn’t know the exact pricing of Aether weapons, but I knew for a fact that this one wouldn’t sell for less than $10 million.
Basically... my net worth.
Jake and the agents staggered back in shock. The support units froze, eyes wide. The few major news stations allowed to film near the rift turned their cameras our way, buzzing with whispers like bees around a hive.
"Bastard. You looking down on me or something?" Righteous hissed, standing on his toes to get closer to my face. "Just a little recognition of your elders’ presence would go a long way. But I guess you’re too big for that now!"
I could feel the strength in his grip. Judging from how fast his clone moved to suppress Kenza, his stats had to be around 9 or 10. Both speed and strength.
But unfortunately, I couldn’t say the same for his intelligence.
This midget had a lot of power packed in that tiny frame. Now I understood why he was the number one C-rated Limitless in the country.
Just 10 points in key stats gave a Limitless the edge to dominate most enemies.
"Kenza... What happened to the First Lieutenant who acted stupid the morning of the Louisiana invasion?" I asked calmly.
She looked stunned, confused as to why I’d bring that up—but she answered.
"You beat him down until he was a bloody mess."
Slowly, I returned my gaze to the midget. My eyes darkened.
Buzz!
Dark fumes erupted from my body. My hair whipped in the rising wind as a threatening red light glowed from my eyes.

I had those in abundance.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t say the same for patience.
"You have five seconds to take your filthy hands off me..." I growled, as red veins pulsed violently across my skin, "...or I’ll kill you. Right here. Right now."
