Reincarnated With a SSS-Rank Hypnosis Skill in Another World-Chapter 28 - The Aftermath of Day One
Chapter 28: Chapter 28 - The Aftermath of Day One
The whole stadium was stunned.
It was pure silence in the crowd. A lot of people had expected beatings, but this one was definitely on another level.
I had beaten him in less than five seconds. Everyone who knew about my reputation thought that I would be playing around.
But... not today. Not anymore. I was fully focused on winning this whole thing, and there was no one who would separate me from it.
I looked up into the crowd, trying to find my father, the king, and Elena, and I found them quickly. They were separated in two arena boxes placed as high as possible, looking down on me. The king was grinning from ear to ear while my father was frowning, not opening his mouth.
It seemed that I had managed to shock him too.
I didn’t show much emotion as I simply walked away from the stage as if this was just usual work.
Even the announcer was stunned, but he finally began speaking.
"J-Jake Vale has won his fight in less than five seconds. A round of applause, please."
The entire stadium then exploded with claps and shouts.
As I walked away, I could hear Elena shouting my name like never before. freeweɓnøvel.com
"GO JAKE! YOU’RE THE BEST!"
Some people heard her, but they thought it was simple since I was now her fiancée. It was only normal for the two of us to care about one another.
[Alex Vale’s POV]
What the fuck just happened?
Did that son of a bitch just do that?
I frowned. I couldn’t believe it.
I had never seen him use [Blink] in his entire life. I always thought that he couldn’t use it since it was a spell that required a lot of practice. But here, he used it as if it were a part of himself. He moved so fast that even I didn’t see him appear before his opponent.
’Don’t tell me that you’re actually trying now, little brother.’
I clenched my jaw.
It was too late anyway.
I would deal with him once he was inside the Royal Academy because it seemed that he had finally decided to try, which meant that I had to get rid of him before he became more powerful than I was.
[Edward Vale’s POV]
Even I was surprised.
My son was not the type to destroy weak opponents. I had seen it often in the past. He preferred to toy around with them, to humiliate them. But here he completely destroyed him using two different affinities within seconds.
I had no idea what happened since I had last seen him. But one thing was sure. He had woken up and... looking to my right, toward the king’s box, I could see the princess cheering her lungs out.
It seemed that she might be the reason why my son was finally trying.
’Who would have thought that a woman would make you act this way, son...’ I thought as I shook my head, thinking that it was impossible.
Still, winning would be hard. After all, this opponent was weak. Anyone would have won against him.
Before giving him any praises, I would have to wait until he faced stronger opponents.
The day went by quickly.
I had fought three times today.
All of those fights I had won without any problem. I used the same exact move every time, giving out as little information as possible.
The tournament was still filled with all kinds of people.
There were still 1,024 contestants left, which meant that I would have to win two more fights to get into the Royal Academy. However, those two fights would be much harder now. There was no doubt about it. It only required me to get a bad pairing, and things could go awry.
Today had been long. I hadn’t met with my father or my brothers. I had decided to go back to the king’s castle as soon as I was done.
Elena had come with me, as did Aria, as we were both inside the carriage late at night.
"You did so good today!" she said with a blush.
I smirked and nodded as I remembered what I had asked her hypnotized self. It seemed that maybe those new memories had made her feel closer to me, as even without trying anything, we were already inches away from one another, our hips touching.
I could feel her being extremely nervous right now, her heart beating much louder than before.
"Yeah... but it was only the first day. Tomorrow is when the real fights will begin."
"Still, you’re the one everyone is talking about! You destroyed all your opponents in less than five seconds. Not everyone can do that..."
I nodded. However, I knew very well that I wasn’t the favorite to win this whole thing. There were much more powerful opponents that I had met back in that room.
That black-haired woman, the spear user, and the cold beauty. Those three would be hard to beat. They were strong, stronger than I was right now.
"About that, do you know anything about a black-haired woman who has reached the Fifth Mana Circle participating in the tournament?"
"Fifth Mana Circle Mage?!" Elena’s eyes widened at once. "No. That’s impossible. There’s no one as strong as that, or I would have known about it. My father told me about most contestants, and there wasn’t anyone like that."
I frowned.
That made no sense.
The king had no reason to lie about such things, which meant that there was a greater chance that the mystery woman had lied about her real strength. But why would she have done such a thing?
Thinking about it, even in her early matches, she hadn’t done anything out of this world. She had won all of her matches, but she had done so in very calm and slow manners, the complete opposite of me.
"She had a green bracelet just like me. Are you sure you don’t know?"
She frowned as she shook her head. "I’d have to ask my dad... Still, can we not talk about that? You won; that’s all that matters, right? My father was very satisfied with your performance. He’s almost certain that you will be the perfect guard for me."
She looked into my eyes, almost as if trying to charm me.
Then, I felt her right hand slowly pressing against my chest.
