Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?-Chapter 1507: The Oasis Wyrm Egg
-----
"Ah right, the ornaments!" Silvia gasped. "We completely forgot because of that Wyrm battle, huh?"
"Yeah, I guess we could leave that for tomorrow right? There’s no urgency," said Justicio.
"Hm, yeah, eating comes first," nodded Aquarina. "We can go find them tomorrow morning once we wake up fresh like lettuces."
"Hmph! Y-You better do!" Khepri got a bit annoyed the youngsters would forget things so easily. "These youngsters… always taking life so carefreely!"
She talked like a grandma, and perhaps she was, as she had lived for, definitely, hundreds of years by now.
"Eh, well, you’ll get used to it," Undine interacted with her. "I used to think like you before."
"Oh! Another fellow spirit that can speak!" said Khepri. "Don’t tell me, you’ve got some sort of mysterious past like me?"
"Ah, no, I was just a Water Spirit born inside a River in the middle of the Amazonian Jungles," said Undine. "I mostly lived by the River, but Aquarina’s aura attracted my attention, and I ended joining her after seeing her potential and her kind heart."
"O-Oh…" Khepri sighed, feeling like she was once more left out. "Am I the only one without memories then?"
"I suppose… you are indeed rather strange for a spirit, I’ve never seen one quite like you before," said Undine. "Double Elemental Spirits… Sunlight and Sand too? it’s very strange! To be honest, I didn’t even know Spirits like you could exist before seeing you."
"Hahah! Well, that is because I am a High Spirit!" laughed Khepri. "I am obviously and naturally superior to other spirits…"
"I wouldn’t call you superior though, but sure, think whatever you want," Undine muttered. "Name’s Undine by the way, Khepri. Let’s get along, if possible."
"Very well, Undine!" nodded Khepri. "Although, unfortunately for you, I will not miss the opportunity to flex my superiority, I’m afraid."
"Hahah, you’re funny…" Undine giggled, finding Khepri a bit ridiculous.
Her personality was indeed quite not like any Spirit she had seen before either…
Aside from the weird ones born from souls such as Ignatius, Beelzebub, and Curse, who had distinct, developed personalities that originated from the souls that were transformed into spirits.
"For some reason she really reminds me of them too…" she thought. "Hmm… Huh?"
As the trio were making their way back, Undine suddenly recognized something floating over the oasis.
It was oval-shaped, and azure colored, with scales covering its body.
But without a doubt that was…
"An egg! Aquarina! Aquarina, wait! Don’t go yet! AQUARINAAAA!"
Undine started screaming and hitting Aquarina’s head, who was about to start using Heavenly Step to travel through the skies back to the village.
"What?! What the hell is wrong with you Undine?" Aquarina gasped, shocked Undine who was often calm and composed was going insane.
"AN EGG! The Oasis Wyrm left an egg, look at it!" Undine pointed into the oasis at the distance.
"I can’t see anything- huh?! Wait, that crystal’s an egg?!" Aquarina noticed something from afar.
"Yes! It is!" Pyuku quickly turned into his humanoid form as he realized what it was, as he was sitting over Aquarina’s head before. "The Wyrm you hunted must have been a mother protecting her egg…"
"Agh, dammit…" Aquarina felt a bit bad now. "Ugh, and I was so brutal when fighting her, shit… Wait, was this the reason why she came to this isolated Oasis?"

"Most likely!" nodded Justicio. "Wyrms usually don’t visit these areas of the steppes at all, she must have come from far away just to hide from predators and raise her egg in the safety of the isolated oasis where she was the strongest already."
"Oh… Are we leaving the egg behind, Aquarina?" Silvia felt a bit bad. "If we leave it there it could get eaten- Aahh!"
SPLASH!
Right after Silvia said that, suddenly, the oasis trembled, and a huge catfish-like creature emerged, opening its jaws and swallowing the egg.
"GULP…"
"NOOOOOO!"
The trio panicked, screaming like monkeys.
Without even hesitating, Aquarina jumped toward the Oasis from where she was, transforming her legs into dragon talons and reaching as far as she could.
FLASH!
She jumped several kilometers in a row, and then rushed down towards the oasis, pointing her claws towards the monster down there.
"Hey you bastard! Don’t take the egg!"
SPLAAASH!
She fell into the oasis, creating a huge turmoil as water splashed everywhere, the catfish-like creature, which was actually a salamander of some sort with eight chunky legs, began running away.
"Don’t you dare escape!"
Aquarina was about to freeze the entire lake but was stopped by Pyuku who grabbed her arm and stopped her.
"Wait! Aquarina, don’t do that! You’re going to kill the egg if you freeze it! It needs a lot of warmth! It’s tough, I’m sure! Let’s just hunt the fish and open its belly!"
"A-Ah, okay!"
Aquarina and Pyuku dived into the water, while Aquarina chased the catfish-like salamander, the monster release bullets of poison to inhibit her or stop her.
At the same time, Pyuku swam around it, quickly transforming in a net made of slime! The two captured the catfish while Aquarina was tanking its poisonous, yet very weak attacks.
"GLUOOP! GLUOOP! GLOOP…!"
The monster annoyingly complained, but Aquarina had him tightly grabbed with Pyuku’s help, and the two dragged it into the shore.
The monster ended being a very rare Eight-Legged Catfish Salamander, a Tier 4 Monster. Aquarina recalled eating its cousin species in Cloudia’s wetlands, their meat was the softest, most flavorful she had eaten before.
"You’re my aperitive for tonight’s dinner," Aquarina smiled, licking her lips as her eyes glowed brightly.
"GLUOOOP!"
After screaming in horror, the salamander was dealt with quickly, as Aquarina killed it with a shockwave of Mana into its body, an ideal way to hunt weaker monsters without leaving them into bloody mess.
With her knife, she opened the belly while her friends glanced, as she took out the shiny, azure scale-covered egg and cleansed it with her water magic.
She still could feel it…
