Reincarnated To Evolve My Bee Empire-Chapter 296: Reappearance of Dalmanrach
Not only the humans' fight with wasps created a distraction among enemy humans, it dealt with wasps themselves. Without them, the bee scouts could sneak around and listen to humans' thoughts for their plans without interruptions.
They never got an opportunity to assassinate the enemy general in the day, but it was unimportant by then.
Farini was told the enemy plans. With this advantage, his army met the High King's and crushed it! Bloodimina's Beemarines stung many humans in this battle, helping Farini's soldiers even more while staying unnoticed near ground and people's feet.
There were only rumors about divine wrath that sometimes smitten enemy soldiers moments before their blows landed on someone.
Those enemy soldiers who survived ran away in fear. Farini ordered not to chase them, but instead to offer those who wished to change sides a full pardon and a place in his army. After all, they were still a part of the same nation!
Normally, this would create too many opportunities for spies to enter Farini's ranks, but with Agent Bees on his side, he didn't need to wonder about people's hidden thoughts.
Few people actually agreed to Farini's offer at first. But after he gave the soldiers who changed sides all what he promised (which were the same salaries and food given to every other soldier), more and more approached Farini's army with pledges of loyalty to his cause.
Now, Farini's army marched toward the nation's capital, while he sent messages to other province lords to join him. And of course, while this happened, Farini never stopped spreading the teachings of truth to the people.
First, this meant training new healers and helping many settlements who suffered from plagues as much as Farini could.
Second, it meant spreading the worship of bees and the postulates of the "right" way to worship gods! All those were sent from Hive Supremo and passed to Farini by Whisper, who had to prepare for several minutes to be able to think about them without giggling.
That Farini's army, despite its size, wasn't all destroyed by plagues (thanks to strict hygiene Farini imposed on it, as well as help of Physician Bees who gave advice on treatments), for many was another proof of his righteousness.
More and more people joined him every day, bringing not just themselves, but also their supplies and money to him. And Farini's preaching full of his genuine belief was effective in making people believe in the divinity of bees, to the point where they started worshiping even unevolved bees they met.
Whisper, who considered Farini's successes to be her own, was extremely pleased with this turn of events. When she reported the latest events to Hive Supremo through a telepathic chain, she couldn't hide delight from her mind's voice.
Nobody but the first telepath in a chain will catch it, anyway.
Just like the telepathic chain couldn't bring to her the warmth that was in Father's mind voice when he congratulated her and Farini with their successes.
But their work had just begun!

<Congratulations, user! You have increased the progress of human-bee unification by 0,00001%! You gain 100 development points.>
I really had a long way to go.
But it was still nice to hear this after Whisper's report.
I looked at the other reports lying on the table in front of me. Now they were all written on paper instead of wax tablets. Thanks to this and how compact paper was compared to tablets, there was still a place for a cup of herbal tea on the table even with so many stacks of reports for me to look at!
After two weeks, although most of our archives were still in wax, at least all new reports in Hive Supremo were written on this rough handmade paper.
But knowing how expensive it was, we were all very sparing to them, and reading the scrawl of bees written in tiny letters became an even worse torture for my eyes…
I looked away from the writings and thought about my next plans for Farini. With the help of Agents, he probably won't even need to besiege the capital city. Even prognoses of Oracles already said that luck promised to be on Farini's side for the near feature.
Whisper will have to instruct him to keep an eye open for more evolved insects—those might cause trouble not just for bees, although this wasps' nest looked like an intentional intervention against us.
'Too bad I have no idea what gods are up to,' I grumbled. 'With so many of them being active, even my Oracles can't predict what they will throw at bees next. Goddess of Bees hates my guts, but at least God of Humanity could've dropped a hint?'
Perhaps they thought that as long as the Bee Empire wasn't crashing and burning, everything was alright.
I reached out to take a sip of my tea and paused when I saw something moving inside. Thinking that it was a stray leaf, I looked closer and prepared to pick it out…
Instead, I realized I see a startlingly clear reflection of someone else's eye!
I gasped, almost dropping the cup, but the waves didn't distort the image. Instead, it moved on its own, and the eye was replaced by a familiar sight of a large bird's head.
"Nectus, please, don't drop this vessel. It's my most convenient way of reaching you, and it took me a lot to open it."
Dalmanrach, the failed God of Dodos and possibly my best ally! I almost forgot about his promise to contact me.
I hurriedly placed the cup on the table and looked into it.
"Mr. Dalmanrach! Wait—won't you get in trouble for contacting me like that? I'm being watched, after all—you said it yourself."
"I made some arrangements with the God of Humanity," Dalmanrach replied. "Let's say that I speak with his permission… and as long as he doesn't bring me to court, I'm safe. He shouldn't—I was supposed to act as his messenger as well. It saves him some effort in negotiation and some evolution points."
I nodded, pretending to understand the complex divine politics.
"Then what did you come to say, Mr. Dalmanrach?"
