Reincarnated in the game world ~ A gamer's beginning to [Dungeon job hunting recommendation]-Chapter 669Vol. 12 - - Zephyr-sensei,Taking the Command of Class-51!
"It's great you finally can see your job, Katalina-san."
"Please, it's all possible because you brought Brav—no, Zephyr-san, Rina-san. No words can express how grateful I am to Zephyr-san, as well as you."
Katalina-san held Rina's hands and looked at her with a gratified gaze.
It was like I was watching a beautiful picture come alive.
"She really is keeping up with that persona, isn't she?"
"Well, Brave... I mean, Zephyr-kun is here, too, after all. She shouldn't want to show that side in front of him."
From behind us, I could hear Fraumina-san and Rosetta-san whispering to each other, though it was inaudible to me.
On the other hand, Katalina-san turned her face toward me, her eyes slightly dampened.
"I am truly very much grateful to you, Zephyr-san. I... I had already lost hope. I felt I, alone, would be left while everyone managed to get their better jobs."
"All's well that ends well, isn't it? I *just happened* to know about the job, so I am glad too."
Putting my knowledge aside, I tried to make it a coincidence.
With Researcher Ramy hovering behind me like a ghost, I just hope this puts her away from digging deeper.
"Prof. Brave, I would like to speak more in deta—"
"About that, I think we can keep it for another time."
"We've already gone through most of the details, and as long as no further complication emerges, we should be beginning «Job Transfer» on the weekend of Dungeon Week! Today's Wednesday, which means we only have three days left! We don't have time to take it easy. If you know anything else, now's the place and moment to reveal it all!"
Huh? No, searching for the answers to mysteries should be the job of researchers, no? What would be left of researchers if I revealed everything!?
As much as I understood her surging curiosity to find answers, I must stop here. The best I could do was being their signpost.
I also hadn't revealed everything about Katalina-san, so I should be alright... probably. (You're not!)
Just as Researcher Remi seemed to have wanted to argue, Katalina-san came between us and objected to her.
"Now there, researcher Remy. Would you please not interrupt us? As you can see, I am currently having an important discussion."
"Shouldn't it be my discussion who held more priority?! We're speaking of the mystery that had the academy, no, the entire world in the dark!"
"No, no. That's where you should try to research your way."
Oops, I accidentally blurted out my true thoughts.
"Ugh... but, indeed, you're right. The revelation now is already detailed enough to require an investigation. However there's not enough time to make the best out of the «Job Transfer System», then... wait, if I can borrow Prof. Brave's help!"
"I concur. You should come again after you're thoroughly investigated the details. Until then, Zephyr-san has things to look after."
Oh, soon Rina also intervened.
Research Remy gnashed her teeth, trying to persuade with "we're talking about discoveries that can shake the entire foundation!", showing no sign of retreat.
Seeing the statement, I figured it was better to give an inch.
"Then how about this? Researcher Remy, how many students have fulfilled criteria to a high-ranking job in Class-51?"
"Hmm? How many... so far, we only have three students, including Katalina-san, who had managed to discover them. The remaining 26 students have been going through all sorts of challenges, however there's no telling when they might unlock them."
Ah, figured.
The biggest beneficiary of this system were second year and third-year students. Apparently, 40% of the overall applicants succeeded in having high-ranking jobs in their manifestations, imploding the number of powerful jobs overnight.
Initially, they didn't have the opportunity to clear «Defeat X monsters with Y condition» during their enrollment . But, with their years and months spent in the academy, they'd accumulated various achievements, and that contributed to their rise in numbers.
Meanwhile, freshmen had gone through an experiment at the end of April, and cleared the aforementioned condition from the start. So, while this was a year of unprecedented number of high-ranking jobs in freshmen, it was impossible to replicate through the same success.
It was quite a feat that 40% of the student body were now sporting higher rarity jobs, just that the changes were meagre for freshmen.
I decided to give them a nudge. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"If so, what do you think if I take over the training of the remaining 26 students? Of course, I give no assurity it would even bring any fruitful—"
"Yes, please!! After the first inspection, no one has managed to unlock them!"
Whoa, I didn't even have to try. It appeared that she had been stuck in a deadlock, where no amount of training was making a dent on progress. It's no wonder she eagerly handed the command to me.
It must be rough for her, eh? I mean, Class-51 was an elite class, and an inadequate result would most probably run her qualification to ground. I wouldn't fault her either. The conditions to clear for category holders—which Class-51 had in majority—was notoriously hard.
Regardless, with the permission of the academy's researcher, I had now become the trainer of Class-51.
Hehehe. I put up a lip service to not elevate her hope, but since I was on the field, how could there not be a result? I would be going for the record advancement of the whole class! Then, with that record on me, who wouldn't agree to join «Eden»! Kuhahahaha!!
Ahem, it was now time for the Spartan regime for the Class-51 by courtesy of Zephyr-sensei.
Back at the classroom, as everyone's gazes centred on us, I broke to the new—"Katalina-san has successfully unlocked her job." The classroom was engulfed in chatter in the instant.
I could hear some of their whispers, like "Wow. I am glad for her." or "*Sniff* It was really heart wrenching to see Katalina-san like a wilted flower." Their congratulations poured out for Katalina-san.
Glad, ain't they? This was a fine start. Now, it was time to break the second news—
"There's one more announcement. For the next few days, I will be the instructor for this class."
The chattering intensified. Hmm, just the reaction I expected. A majority of this class was young ladies and prodigal sons. It was why Researcher Remy, a «Duke» category member, was assigned, but I had no such shining titles.
Though, I would assume my achievement from information I had imparted through my lectures should make me credible in their eyes hopefully.
"But of course, «Job Transfer» is a pivotal turning point that would contribute to your life onwards. There must be few dissatisfied with my training. It's not an obligation, so you are still free to count on Researcher Remy instead."
I said in hope to ease any objections, but much to my expectation, no one raised their objections or found it odd. What I saw was... a curious reaction, or excited faces.
"Kyaaa! Is this a dream? Zephyr-sensei is going to be our instructor?!"
"Hurray! We're won this! We can definitely get a high-ranking job now!"
"I couldn't make it to his lecture last time, so I am grateful."
"Ah, I am the same."
"Lecture? I didn't even make it into Eden's interview."
"He thoroughly defeated me in the inter-class competition, so this should be something. Hmm, very well."
I could kind of notice a hint of... respect in their attitude?
Perhaps she had noticed my confusion, Rina explained the situation to me.
"Your advice has proven to bring splendid results, Zephyr-san. As of now, you're seen as the foremost pioneer in research of the high-ranking jobs in the world. If anything, it's more of good luck, and no one would think they've lost anything. And, well I do not mean any disrespect, but Researcher Remy has no track record."
Ah, I see. Yeah, I think I have got the whole picture now.
I must say, I didn't expect to be labelled as a pioneer. And thinking about it, it's not an exaggeration. I did prove myself by helping out Katalina-san, so it would explain their lack of dissatisfaction.
Right, then I, too, should see it positively. It should also sweep away any apprehension in case I see any potential guild member.
Either way, the time was short. It's about time to start with basic questions—their category, and the job they'd been striving for!
