Reincarnated As The Villainess's Son-Chapter 319: Heart Of Yggrisial [15]
Prana.
The ability to control plants.
An ancient power passed down through the Elves of the Gerald Highbloods.
A gift not granted to all.
—
Before anyone could react, the plants around Marvis surged to life.
Thick vines erupted from the ground, twisting like serpents, aiming to ensnare them.
The group scattered.
Heather lunged first, moving like a blur.
Her fingers morphed mid-air, transforming into razor-sharp, fur-covered claws.
Marvis sidestepped as soon as her claw reached close.
A vein wrapped itself around her leg before slamming her into a fountain.
Elijah’s concerned gaze flicked towards her as he almost reached her.
Composing himself mid-way, he swung his sword in a wide arc.
Marvis ducked, and the next instant, the ground rippled.
A thick crimson moss emerged from the ground before it exploded, releasing pinkish mist.
Elijah held his breath and leaped back, but even without inhaling, his limbs felt heavy.
His movements slowed down.
A paralyzing effect.
Marvis snapped his fingers.
The vines around him twisted together before lunging at Elijah like a wall of spears.
Elijah’s grip on his sword tightened.
He took in a deep breath, exhaled a misty breath.
’Oiyz Sword Art.’
His left foot shifted forward, right foot dug into the dirt, sword held diagonally, tip low.
’Swift Form.’
Ruah surged from his body, engulfing his forearms in a greenish hue.
His hand moved in a blur, slicing the spears into small pieces.
Marvis whistled. "Impressive, now let’s see how long you can continue."
The vines around him surged again.
Hundreds of spears rushed at him simultaneously.
"Barrier."
A voice echoed in the backyard.
Five hexagons arranged themselves around Elijah, blocking the spears.
He turned to look back at Zenith, who had already started to move her staff.
Rune of ’fire’ and air merged seamlessly, turning into a drilling flame surging towards Marvis.
Elijah moved to check on Heather.
Without any panic, Marvis plucked a dandelion before blowing it.
The dandelion’s seeds turned into a group of lotuses that engulfed the flames.
"Fire is such a boring ability," Marvis said, before tapping the ground. "Try something like this."
Four plants surged up with mouths.
Their mouths moved towards Zenith before throwing explosive berries.
"Barrier."
Zenith whispered, and four barriers materialized in front of her.
The berries hit her, almost breaking the barrier.
Elijah rushed forward once again, tip of his sword lowered down.
Ruah engulfed his legs, making him speed nearly instantly.
He reached close to Marvis, who had a surprised look on his face.
His blade rushed to his face.
Marvis quickly sidestepped, the blade grazing his face.
A trail of blood trickled down, which made him smile.
’Swift Form.’
Ruah surged in his arms, and his movement turned blurred.
A slash almost cut Marvis into two, but he moved back in time.
Sensing the trembling of the ground, Elijah rushed back.
Three vines surged up.
Heather, who had already recovered, rushed towards him.
"Stay down, puppy," Marvis said mockingly as tens of vines twisted around her.
Her body got entangled in the labyrinth of vines, stopping her from moving.
Marvis swiftly ducked, Elijah’s sword aimed at his head.
His gaze turned towards Zenith, who had already merged two different Runes.
"Arghh!"
A loud screaming voice erupted from the rune, almost making Marvis deaf.
He groaned as he shook his head.
Elijah was on him the next instant.

His sword almost reaching to slice his head open.
Marvis reacted in time.
An interjection of multiple vines made a barrier stopping Elijah’s sword.
Elijah didn’t waste any time, he twisted his wrist, shifting the blade angle for another strike at him.
Marvis leaped back, and the ground beneath Elijah softened ever so slightly.
Thick vines exploded from the ground, tangling around his legs and yanking him down.
Elijah’s eyes widened, as he swiftly cut down the vines, but they kept on regenerating.
With a defiant roar, Heather rushed towards him as she freed herself from the vines.
Her long dark brown hair moved around her like a mane.
She lunged.
Marvis swiftly dodged her as she crashed on the ground.
Cracks appeared beneath her.
A blink.
Elijah was already onto Marvis.
His body exploded into a greenish hue as he stormed slashes on Marvis.
Leaping back, Marvis made hundreds of vines to protect himself.
Elijah followed closely while cutting down the vines.
Heather lunged at him from behind, trapping him.
"Tch."
Marvis clicked his tongue as his fingers twitched.
The ground beneath him split open.
A massive flower erupted, its petals curling around him protectively.
Elijah’s sword clashed against the thick petals, unable to cut through.
Heather’s claw did some damage but couldn’t get past it.
"Move!"
Zenith’s voice echoed within the place.
Heather and Elijah quickly rushed back while Zenith played with her staff.
She swiftly drew the rune of ’fire’ and rune of ’force’ together.
They both seamlessly submerged into each other.
Surging flames engulfed the flower, covering it entirely.
"I told you…"
Marvis’ voice echoed from within.
The flower slowly absorbed the fire.
"…Fire is too predictable."
A second later, the flames burst outward in an explosion.
Heather, Elijah, and Zenith barely managed to leap away.
The smoke cleared.
Marvis sat cross-legged within the flower, his face resting on his chin as he looked at them.
Elijah exhaled sharply, adjusting his grip on his sword.
His arms trembled from the repeated use of Ruah.
Heather growled, her fur bristling as she crouched low.
Marvis’s gaze quickly shifted towards Siersha, who stood at the edge.
"Are you not going to help them?" he asked, amusement clear in his voice.
"I am helping them," she replied, her voice calm.
Marvis let out a chuckle. "Sure you are."
He snapped his fingers.
A massive flower bud bloomed in front of him—except instead of petals, it was lined with jagged teeth.
With a low groan, the flower opened its maw and lunged at Heather.
Elijah pivoted.
’Swift Form’
His sword slashed through the air, intercepting the creature before it could reach her.
The impact sent a shockwave across the backyard, splitting the plant’s massive head in two.
But Marvis wasn’t done.
He moved.
For the first time in the fight, he took offense—fast, almost too fast.
In an instant, he was in front of Elijah.
Elijah’s instincts screamed, but he was a second too slow.
A sharp vine shot up and pierced through his shoulder.
Blood dripped from the fresh wound.
Marvis leaned in.
"You rely too much on speed," he murmured. "But what happens when you’re pinned?"
Heather snarled, tearing through the battlefield to reach him, but more vines intercepted her, slamming her to the ground.
Zenith tried casting another spell, but Marvis flicked his wrist.
A swarm of thorned flowers launched, forcing her into defense.
"Now, what should we do with you?" Marvis asked, as the vine twisted in Elijah’s wound.
Elijah inhaled sharply.
His eyes turned blurry.
’Accept it.’
A voice echoed in Elijah’s head.
’Accept your role and my powers are yours.’
His breath turned ragged as the voice in his head whispered.
’Become my Avatar.’
Elijah exhaled.
His head moved towards the sky.
"Haha."
Elijah chuckled softly.
"Have you gone mad?" Marvis asked, amused.
"No," Elijah replied, "I just saw something absurd."
Marvis’s body flinched as he felt something.
His gaze moved up.
A meteorite shower rushed towards the palace.

I rubbed the back of my neck, tightening the grip on my katana.
My gaze was solely on him.
A guard that Hayes brought from the Solace kingdom.
Unlike the rest of them, he was wearing distinct bluish armor.
None of his features were visible, his face fully covered.
My gaze drifted around the place.
The hallway was a decently large enough space for two cars to be parked side by side.
A few decorative items lay around the place—table, vase, painting, stone monuments.
Dim lights illuminated the place.
Just a few steps away from the guard was another hall.
My gaze returned to the guard, who stood motionlessly.
I tilted my head. "Who are you?"
No response, just a slight tilt of his head.
His hand glowed faintly.
He definitely did something, but I wasn’t sure what.
"You can’t be just a normal guard," I began, observing him. "A high Overlord, and you seem quite young."
My explanation was met with silence.
Lowering my katana, I sighed, staring at him.
It felt like I was talking to myself.
"Let me through peacefully," I said, looking at him, "or I can kill yo—"
"Himmel, huh?" he interrupted, his voice deep and composed. "I must say, that name doesn’t suit you."
I tilted my head. "Then what name does suit me?"
"Fallen, Demon, Apostate, Sun-eater," he began, staring deep into my eyes. "...God’s worst creation."
I chuckled at his words.
But inwardly, I felt an unexplainable annoyance.
His mere presence made me feel uncomfortable.
"Where is Hayes?" I asked, ignoring his comment.
"Make a choice," he said, taking a step closer, his sword unsheathing itself, floating beside him.
"Either come with me intact or with broken limbs."
"Why?" I asked, my lips curling up in a smile. "Is your princess too eager to gag on my bal—?"
His body blurred.
Instinct kicked in as he reached me in near-instant.
I raised my katana, trying to parry his sword.
My katana met his sword, forcing the arc of his blade over my head.
The katana buzzed in my hand, sending an unsettling shock through my arm and shoulder.
’He is strong.’
A lot stronger than those soldiers I killed.
I leaped back; he did the same.
Steadying my trembling hand, I sprinted straight for him.
A translucent form emerged from his body, forming a hand.
It grabbed a stone monument before throwing it at me.
At the last instant, I slipped to one side, dodging before slashing at his throat.
His body moved back like a blur as he grabbed a few more monuments, lashing them at me.
They blocked my view.
My arms blurred, cutting down the monuments as he reached closer.
He wasn’t in my view now.
Panic crept into my heart as I frantically looked around.
A hastily made clawed fist plunged into my side.
My body slammed into the wall, knocking the air out of my lungs.
Ignoring the pain, I used the wall as a foothold to spring at him.
My katana barely missed his chest as he moved back in time.
Rolling to break the momentum, I looked up—
He was missing again.
Mana screamed danger.
I reversed the grip as I stabbed back and down.
My katana dug into the afterimage of his sword-holding hand.
His body reappeared at the edge of the hallway.
One hand behind his back, the other holding the sword parallel to his body.
Squeezing the hilt of my katana tightly, I burst forth before leaping at him.
We crashed together.
Sparks filled the hallway as I slashed and stabbed, but each furious blow was deflected.
Frustration crept into my head.
His body blurred once again.
A sidekick to my spine made me lunge forward.
I rolled on the ground.
My spine felt like it was breaking, but I gritted through the pain.
Roaming my blurry vision around, I found myself in a large hall.
The slow, stumbling steps of the guard made me look in his direction.
I gripped my hilt, only to find my katana missing.
’Fuck it.’
I stood back up, looking for my katana.
"Why bother fighting?" the guard asked, his voice eerily calm. "Just come with me—"
"No thanks," I said, my gaze landing on the katana that had slipped toward the corner.
"...I see." His whisper echoed.
A longsword floated beside him. "Well, I wanted to break your body anyway."
I lifted my hands.
A pair of short swords made of mana materialized.
I held them reversed, their blades along my forearm.
The guard tilted his head. "Do you even know how to use them?"
I bent a little. "I will learn as we fight."
His body blurred once again—a round kick to my face.
My sword-edged forearm parried the kick, but his armor stopped any damage.
He followed with a cut that I blocked with my left forearm.
I stepped forward and sliced down.
Grabbing his floating sword, he parried before jabbing forward.
I hooked his sword between the blade and my forearm.
A sudden strong pull to get his sword out of his grasp.
But he was smarter.
The guard let go of the sword and stepped closer.
His doubled elbow slammed into the side of my head.
Whiteness blurred my vision as I staggered back.
I rolled to dodge his cut.
Still on the ground, my legs shot out and tangled his ankles, and he fell.
As he twisted to turn the fall into a roll,
I aimed my short sword deep into the base of his skull.
I blinked.
Then, I was slammed into the wall.
"I almost died."
My blurry gaze landed on the guard, who stood up while muttering.
"Even if weak, you can’t be underestimated."
I spat a mouthful of blood as I got ahold of myself.
My body had already started to reach its limit.
It wouldn’t be long before the aftereffects of using mana hit me.
Squeezing the pair of short swords, I hurtled forward, unleashing a flurry of cuts and jabs, pressing him further back.
But once again, an invisible force pulled me.
My body was once again slammed into the wall repeatedly.
Once, twice, three...
I stopped counting at the eighth slam.
The last slam was so hard that the sturdy wall broke through.
My body rolled a few times on the ground before coming to a halt.
Blood dripped down my head, coloring one side of the world crimson.
The place was barren, and just a short distance behind me was Yggrisial.
I staggered back to my feet as I tried to take deep breaths.
"Just stay down," the guard floated out of the hall. "Don’t try to—"
"Shut up, will you?" I spat, glaring at him.
He sighed. "Hope you don’t die."
Still floating, he snapped his hand downward.
The star in the sky flickered weakly—then blazed, burning hotter than before.
I blinked.
The sky split open.
A storm of fire and stone rained down toward me.
Meteorites.
...Real meteorites.
"Fuck."
They crashed into me, swallowing me whole.
