Chapter 45: Erica? where?

After the survey was done, the royal messenger made it back to his Duchess.

Meanwhile, Rashin and Neuk remained at the mining site.

Everyone else had returned to their homes, well, except for the two leaders of their barony.

One stared at the cave with happiness and a bit of pride, the other stared with regret and anger, laced with bitter poison.

Trying to get the Montclair mining ground for himself for almost a year, Neuk knew not how to act as he stood in front of what he had lost.

How was he supposed to face his people? The people he had promised victory over the Montclair.

He underestimated his opponent too much and was now paying the price.

"How...?"

Those words slipped from his mouth as he clenched his fist tighter.

Noticing that Neuk said something, Rashin immediately looked to the side, still having the same sympathetic look on.

Alaric would have single-handedly told the soldiers to push Neuk out of the mining ground, but Rashin was different.

Irrespective of what had happened, he despised being the enemy of another, especially when one is a noble just like him.

"Are you alright?" Rashin asked with concern.

But words can be misleading when the beneficiary is in pain.

"Oh? So now you mock me?! Is that it? Rashin?!" Neuk yelled.

Still maintaining a calm look, something he had learned from his son, Rashin responded...

"I have no reason to mock you. If anything, I want us to put an end to this worthless conflict we’ve had going on for the past two years."

"What?"

"Yes, I have come to realize that it is of no use to me, battling or holding grudges. Not after how much my son has worked to better this land I have failed to rule."

Rashin stretched his hand forward for a handshake.

"If it means setting my pride to the side, just for my son, then I am willing to give it a try. So what do you say?"

In this world, just as throwing a glove to another meant a challenge, a handshake meant truce and peace.

Something Neuk wasn’t sure he wanted.

The whole reason he hated the Montclair was due to how they got their nobility. A Baron being a Duchess’s favorite had never been heard of.

The scene took a while, and then finally, Neuk decided to bet on the chance.

Thus, he shook Rashin’s hand, though with a frown, Rashin didn’t seem to mind.

"May our land prosper even more, dear friend."

"Oh no, I hope mine surpasses yours in the long run."

"Hahah! I wish the same."

Unbeknownst to both of them, Alaric had made Ava and some soldiers stand watch from a distance, just in case anything were to happen.

Rather than swinging their swords, the soldiers all had smiles on their faces, watching as Rashin took control of the situation.

Whatever the case may be, Alaric had made every single person in the barony happy.

_"Ahhhhh~~ Master... Why...~~ are you so haaardddd~~~"_

"Keep going... It feels good."

"No fair, let me grab this part, it’s easier for me to wrap my fingers around~"

"Ohhj~~ I...I..."

"What are you doing?"

That was Ava, standing at the entrance of the door with a deadpan stare.

"Ava... good timing, join them, the more the better." Alaric responded with a thumbs up.

He was sleeping on the bed, naked, with only a white towel to cover his already erect penis.

Taking each side of the bed were his beast summons, Aurora and Laura, both of whom were dressed in their underwear.

Covered in oil, their bodies stuck together, allowing the girls to easily move their bodies against Alaric’s chest as a massage.

Their legs were wrapped around his thighs, hands rubbing his chest, and their breasts housing Alaric’s arms in between them.

It was no wonder Ava felt disgusted from the sight, even though it was a bit of a turn-on.

"I see you decided to take the day off, my lord."

"Why not? I’m done with what I planned on doing. Sooner or later, money from the mining ground will start railing in. I can go back to being the loner I was before. This is a win."

"Sigh! I have a message for you from the Viscount."

Alaric’s eyes widened a bit, but he didn’t move a muscle from where he was, too busy enjoying the soft skin of the two beauties massaging him.

"Let me hear it."

"As you wish." Ava responded and then proceeded to look at the paper in her hand after fixing the girls on Alaric’s body with a disgusted look.

Now focusing on the paper, she began...

"This letter is for the Montclair Barony. I, Viscount..."

"Meh meh meh meh, we don’t have all day, skip to the good part." Alaric interrupted.

For a brief second, it felt like Ava should drown Alaric in the oil he was bathed in, but instead, she smiled and proceeded.

"The Olsen Viscounty has successfully completed all procedures for the contract, including taking on the name as the inventor of the Wooden Cooler."

Hearing the information, Alaric took a second to raise his fist to the ceiling and give out a small grin.

"We rich." He uttered silently.

"Eh? I have no idea what’s happening? Did the young master win a lottery?" asked Laura as she kept looking around.

"I think so too." Aurora added.

"You’re both right and wrong."

Alaric stood to his feet on the bed. "If all goes according to plan, we might as well be the richest barony in Foreigino."

"Oh, I should add the Viscount also mentioned he didn’t do it all by himself. Erica Montclair was there to help him too."

"Who is that?" Aurora asked.

Realization hit Alaric.

"That’s my sister..." he whispered with a sad tone.

He remembered she had gone to the Count for a meeting so she could try and make negotiations with the Count they owed 200 million Eres.

"Shit, I was so preoccupied with everything that I forgot Erica is still in Velmo. Why has she not returned home yet?"

Alaric asked, looking at Ava.

The moment their eyes connected, Ava looked to the side.

It was then Alaric suspected something was wrong—

"Ava? Where is my sister?" he asked, this time, with authority.
