Reincarnated as the Baron's son: My Infinite Card Upgrade System-Chapter 42: Two days completed
Fixed Chapter:
[Ding Ding!]
[You have successfully named a spirit.]
[Hidden tasks completed.]
[Reward: 200,000cp.]
’Eh?’
Alaric watched as different notifications began to pop up.
[Upgrade card for Feline spirit available.]
[Shall I initiate a forced evolution?]
’Forced evolution?’ asked Alaric.
[Yes. Since the summon is a spirit type, you are granted the luxury of skipping upgrades and forcing evolution in exchange for mana supply rather than cp.]
’I don’t have to spend? The fuck are you asking me for, do it.’
[Request confirmed.]
[Initiating forced evolution...]
[Forced evolution... has begun.]
—gbooom!
Alaric felt a huge amount of mana exit his body. His eyes widened as he collapsed to the ground.
’What’s... happening...?’
He found himself lying flat on the ground, unable to move a muscle. The only thing he could feel was the mana rushing out of his body and fusing with his new spirit summon, Laura.
A few seconds later, he had fallen unconscious on the ground.
.....
Two days later
(Montclair mansion.)
Ava stood in front of the table, waiting for Rashin to hand over the papers he was signing.
The papers contained everything Alaric would need for any issues that could potentially come up regarding the building of roads and every other thing connected to it.
Two days ago, a strange girl with blue hair arrived in front of the mansion with Alaric unconscious in her arms.
She claimed to be his companion. Everyone thought she was probably one of the girls he had slept with, so they allowed her in, along with Alaric, who still hadn’t woken up from his slumber.
"That should be all, or is there anyone I haven’t signed?" Rashin spoke, looking up at Ava.
"No, my lord, that would be all. Knowing the young master, he’d probably have more, so I’ll be sure to ask him." Ava responded, picking up the paper from the table.
"Oh, alright then. I’m glad I could help."
"I’m sure Lord Alaric appreciates it." Ava bowed her head.
She was about to leave when Rashin suddenly spoke again—
"Speaking of my son, do you happen to know why he has suddenly changed so much?" he asked.
Ava paused, "I’m afraid I don’t know what you mean, my lord."
"You know, he’s hardworking and all that. I don’t want to mention anything like that to him, so he doesn’t think his father doesn’t trust him. Yet, I can’t help but worry. Is he planning some kind of suicide?" Rashin asked, clearly worried.
"Suicide? The young master is too money-hungry to do something like that." Ava replied.
"Money-hungry?"
"He loves money too much; that’s the only thing driving him."
Rashin gave a nervous chuckle, "That also reminds me, how does my son plan on paying the salary of 124 workers? I’m very sure I saw it in one of these papers."
Rashin was surprised when he saw the confused expression on Ava’s face.
"What is it? You’re staring at me like I just said something weird."
"Didn’t young master Alaric tell you?" Ava asked.
From the way the question was thrown at him, Rashin could make a good guess of what it could be.
"What did my son do?" The fear in his voice as he asked was evident.
Ava sighed, "Pardon me, my master, I didn’t expect he wouldn’t have mentioned it to you. He mentioned something about selling the family treasure or so."
"Family treasure? The Montclair family doesn’t have any—"
Rashin suddenly realized.
"Wait! Don’t tell me?!"
...
"Ahh... My head, what happened?"
[WELCOME BACK!]
’Oh please, I’d rather not see your annoying screen right now.’
[Ouch! You fell unconscious after too much mana was drained from your body.]
’Right, I remember now. Eh? Where is she?!’
Alaric’s eyes fluttered open as he sat upright.
The first thing he saw was Aurora and Laura sleeping on different sides of the bed. They both grabbed his hand, using it as a resting place for their heads.
’And that is how I became a father of two.’
Alaric looked to the ceiling, ’Feels like I’ve been sleeping for a long time. Just how long was I asleep for?’
[2 and a half days.]
’Whaaaaaaaaa?!’
[Whaaaaaaa?!]
’How could I fall asleep for two freaking days? What about the road building? And mineral supply, shit! It’s almost the end of the month!’
Alaric managed to pull his hand from the grasps of the girls, jerking up from the bed and hastily putting on his clothes.
’It’s bad enough we don’t have enough time; my stupid ass wasted two days already. That means I’m left with just four days? Fuck! I need to head to the field right away... get this shi d-’
Just as he opened the door, Alaric paused when he met Hina standing just outside the door.
Dressed in a new outfit style, a white shirt and a black jacket hanging around her lower arm, with a black skirt and heels.
Her clothes were picked by Ava herself.
That wasn’t all Alaric noticed; she was covered in dirt and mud from head to toe.
"Eww, aren’t you too old to be playing with sand?"
Those were the first words that left Alaric’s mouth.
And he was met with an annoyed look, "Good morning Lord ALARIC! I hope you slept well?!" She forced the smile on her face.
"Not sure why you all would let me sleep for that long, but sure. I can’t speak much, I have to get to the mining ground and make sure the project resumes immediately."
"You really shouldn’t worry about that. I and the men you hired already took care of it. All that’s left is to transport the goods to where you want. That’s what I came to ask you about."
Surprised, Alaric halted.
"I heard you were asleep and shouldn’t be disturbed, as Ava said, that’s why I didn’t bother coming yesterday. But sleeping for two days straight is a bit too convenient, don’t you think? Lord Alaric?" She forced the same smile again.
Alaric nodded a couple of times with a smile on his face before he grabbed Hina by the arm and pulled her closer.
"Oh, you sweet angel! Marry me right now!"
"Ah? Ehn? Ehhhhhh?" She panicked, her cheeks turning beet red.
