There were 3 wives of the late Godking sitting closest to him with a few soldiers of their own. They were beautiful women wearing revealing clothes and were quite powerful as well.

Ning smiled a little and looked around. There were ministers, great merchants, heads of big noble families, and many others. Each one wore a glove or two on their hands.

Ning understood by now that this was a cultural thing in this world. As for whether they were hiding their power or just doing it out of respect for other person was something Ning wasn't sure just yet.

Once he had some free time, he was going to try and learn just what the magic of this world was.

"As you all might have heard," Ning started. "I've killed your Godking. Many of you will be hoping for his return, but he will not. I have thoroughly killed him. I hope I had a corpse to show you, but even that was not left behind."

Several people seemed to want to speak, but none said anything out of fear of disrespecting Ning.

"Speak your mind," Ning said. "I'm not like your previous Godking. I'm not a tyrant. You can say whatever is in your mind. You can curse me too if you want to. I won't do anything to you."

People still hesitated, but the woman closest to him, one of the wives of Indebiss spoke up.

"If you have done as you said and killed our husband, what happens to us now?" she asked. "Do we get killed for being his wife?"

"Um, no," Ning said, surprised he was even being asked such a thing. 'But then again, they have probably seen people being punished for much less. Damn, Indebiss.'

"Regarding the wives and any other people related to Indebiss, I plan to do nothing to any of you. You can do whatever you want. We can discuss this in detail later. Anyone else?"
