Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 740: The Avatars
"Do you understand why I am telling you all this, Chen?" Seth asked with a dark smile.
Chen blinked his eyes, "Not quite, not really," He said honestly.
Seth sighed. He moved back a little bit away from Chen.
"It’s better I show you," Chen raised his hand and pointed an open palm to Chen.
Chen frowned. His body tensed up and his eyes brimmed with clearer killing intent.
All the hairs in his body rose and he readied himself for anything.
Unfortunately for him, he was way too weak and was nothing in front of Seth’s speed.
Freedom Essence surged out of Seth’s open palm and rushed into Chen’s body.
Chen’s eyes were opened wide as his mind was dropped into a trance-like state.
For the first time in his life, Chen knew what it felt like to truly be free.
He could feel that even though he was here and alive, he was somewhere else. It was as if the universe and reality at large had nothing on him.
No chains, no bondage, just total freedom that was more addictive than any substance Chen had ever taken.
Was this how Seth felt every day? Chen wondered to himself as his eyes stared blankly at the space in front of him.
Even his thoughts were free.
It had to take a lot of willpower from Chen to prevent himself from saying something offhanded because his mouth also had no restraint on it.
True and total freedom was dangerous and not to be desired.
Thankfully, Seth’s purpose for flooding Chen’s body with this dangerous amount of Freedom Essence was not to take advantage of him but to show him something.
The intoxication came with a trance that Chen soon found himself lost in.
Chen found himself standing in a dark empty void in his white wingless tiger form.
He looked around and looked at himself, not recognising anything besides his own body.
Suddenly, a mighty aura came from behind.
Chen turned around, his claws bared and his fangs out. He didn’t ask himself how he was able to stand even though there was no ground, nor did he ask himself how he got here.
His memories were foggy.
But his combat instincts were as high as ever.
When he turned around, what he saw made his pupils shrink down to pinpoints, a sign of primal fear.
A massive cat the size of a mountain was sitting down comfortably in the void with its back facing Chen.
The Cat had fluffy black and white fur and a well-toned stature.
There was a growing desire to see the face of this cat, but no matter how Chen looked, the cat never turned its head for Chen to see.
What scared Chen was not this mountain-sized cat, he instinctively knew that this was Seth.
What scared Chen were the things in front of Seth.
These things...
Chen didn’t know how to describe them.
They were things.
Did they have shape? Maybe.
Did they have meaning? Possibly.
Could he recognise them? He didn’t know.
What he knew was that they were there.
"Three thousand Laws!" Seth said without turning his back. His voice boomed and seemingly sucking the liberty out of Chen.
That’s what Chen was looking at, the visual manifestations of the three thousand laws.
Chen was overwhelmed.
"You may not be able to understand them because of your background.
But growing up, I was taught how to mentally create a picture of all the laws in the universe.
I had to first learn all three thousand of them, then I had to learn their meaning and their purpose.
After that, I had to learn how to correctly create an image of them in my mind.
The keyword is correctly. The images were not supposed to be random, they had to be correct and vibrate at the same frequency as the real manifestation of the laws in the real world..."
Chen couldn’t see Seth’s face but he guessed that the latter was smiling from the tone of his voice.
"What you see here is not the real manifestations though, just a fraction. But it should be enough to let you understand some things.
If you wish to see the real manifestations, you may not survive to tell me what it looks like, hehehe...
Anyways..."
The mountain-sized cat stomped one of his front paws on the void ground with powerful force.
The three thousand laws shifted and divided, fading to the background to leave behind fifty-plus laws.
"These are the ownerless laws. Don’t bother trying to memorize them, it’s no use to you at this point.
Here is why I am telling you all I have been telling you.
These laws may not have Primordials, but they can definitely have Avatars to project their powers.
Like Ibadon in the case of the Law of Oblivion.
You are ordinary, Chen.
You are just like me.
Not everyone can just become a Primordial, but almost anyone can become an Avatar.
Even Ibadon was not born with his power over Oblivion. The anomaly of his two hearts added to his desire for revenge set the right condition for it to happen.
And you know the best thing about being an Avatar for one of these laws? You don’t necessarily have to give up your original power.
But there is a risk, unlike a Primordial. You do not control this Law, it controls you. Or better still, it will guide you.
It all depends on the conditions.
In Original Heaven, we have been researching the different conditions required to become an Avatar of these ownerless laws.
We have successfully engineered a captured lion to become an Avatar for the Law of Slavery. That is how we plan on suppressing the lions.
Although the current avatar is still extremely stubborn and proud, we are still going to use him like that, whether he likes it or not."
Chen understood now what Seth was trying to say. Just because he wasn’t a Primordial doesn’t mean that he could not have power similar to theirs.
"So you have a recommendation? Anything besides that slavery, of course." Chen asked.
In this place, his mind was quickly absorbing what Seth intended for him to learn, whether it was the truth or not.
Chen stared at those law manifestations and felt his heart shudder. One particular indescribable law attracted him.
Seth nodded, "Yes. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
We haven’t mapped out the requirements for all of them but we have gotten the conditions needed to become an Avatar for Chaos, Oblivion, Holiness, Eternity, and The Foreign..."
"Yes," Chen nodded, his mind attracted to the last law mentioned, "Tell me about that one," He said, pointing again to one of the manifestations, "The law of The Foreign."
Seth’s smile disappeared. He didn’t turn around, but Chen could sense a frown.
"The Law of The Foreign... It’s not something you should tamper with.
Only those who have travelled out to the multiverse and returned alive can actually fulfill the conditions for that Law."
