Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 734: Secret Mission
"The King still lives! The king still lives," Claudia said as she clapped her hands excitedly.
She and some of her colleagues who looked quite young were also there with her, walking through the long and wide metal hallway of an arkship.
Standing on Claudia’s shoulder was a pitch-black crow with beady red eyes. The crow looked at Claudia, keeping its thoughts to itself.
"I always suspected that the All-King would keep contingencies, just in case.
I mean, if I were him, I would do the same thing, we have the same powers after all..."
The person who just spoke looked like a young man in his early twenties or late teens. He had a prominent nose and upper jaw and looked a bit rugged.
His eyes burned with the light of rebellion and the desire for a wild life.
This was none other than Louis, the Primordial Rat of Freedom in his humanoid form.
Louis had two rat ears and a long rat tail behind him. His stature was not that tall and would be considered average compared to the others.
Shawn, the crow standing on Claudia’s shoulder, narrowed his red eyes, "Isn’t your power dependent on Freedom Essence?
Every clone you have around is constantly going to be draining Freedom Essence from you.
It’s safe to say that the Primordial Lion wouldn’t do something so reckless at all times."
Louis shrugged his shoulders, "Hmm, even then. As long as he has a few clones outside at once, it should be a cost he is willing to take.
I don’t even want to touch my Freedom Essence unless it is an emergency.
For the All-King to still be around after all this while, it only means that he had made some preparations," Louis said.
There was a period of silence. No one was willing to confirm anything yet.
There could be many other ways the All-King had survived this ordeal that didn’t involve any clones.
Shawn on the other hand was very skeptical. He was sure that even if Kael had clones, it shouldn’t have been that easy.
The clones didn’t invalidate the existence of transferred damage.
As seen during the final battle with Noel and Ibadon in the past, when Noel had sacrificed himself, the resulting explosion had wiped out all the clones of the Primordial Cat.
The explosion was so powerful that it had pierced through the Gap. Anything that can pierce through the Gap can also travel through space and time to attack other things.
It was safe to say that even some clones that had been hidden far away for insurance would have been fatally affected.
Perhaps, that was why the former Primordial Cat had died shortly after that battle.
Shawn wasn’t sure. It was his nature to be skeptical and doubtful of everything. It’s not like he was wishing bad on Kael or praying for his downfall.
He just didn’t understand how Ibadon, one of the greatest sources of misfortune in the entire universe, could fail at killing Kael.
There must be something at play.
And Shawn was right.
Kael, in that final moment of transforming into the Eldritch Lion, had used almost every Law he had simultaneously. Including the Law of Freedom.
Indeed, the wave of Oblivion had wiped out almost everything regardless of his final self-preservation efforts.
It should have been in vain.
Alas, Kael had always thought of something so overwhelming like this possibly happening. That was why he had made sure he had Luck on his side.
So Shawn was not wrong for assuming like this, Kael had been very lucky.
"The All-King sent us on this mission knowing that something so serious was going to be happening very soon."
The person who talked was a fiery-haired young lady in her teen looks. She had two large fox ears and nine compact fox tails behind her, each of which was covered in the soft glow of different flames.
Ivana.
She was also wearing the stench of burnt blood. Probably from a recent battle.
"The All-King never planned on dying, that’s all," Claudia said excitedly. She didn’t know why but every time she thought of Kael, she was filled with excess joy.
The opposite was for Shawn as every time he thought deeply about Kael, he was filled with excess anxiety.
"The All-King just wants us to patrol the galaxy next to the spatial storm and set up bases from there.
It’s not that complicated," Louis said. He was more glad that he was doing something that didn’t warrant him having to take orders from anyone.
"Everything is complicated when it comes to the All-King," Ivana said with a frown. She hardly smiled these days.
As they walked, the group chatted on and on, monitored by The Web and in extension, the All-King.
From their auras, one could tell that even though they were not all that powerful yet, they had all begun to touch upon the concept of law embodiment.
With the All-King, all things were possible.
One after the other, the group that had chosen to walk casually for the sake of this healthy conversation, eventually split up to differentiate sections of the arkship that led to different chamber worlds.
These chamber worlds had teleportation arrays that could transport them to their various arkships for this journey.
Obviously, they all had their own arkships. They had just been here to ’address’ the new Primordial they had caught who had been quite stubborn.
Hence, Ivana’s current stench of burnt blood.
Finally, it was only Claudia and Shawn together walking down the metal corridor to their designated chamber world.
These two were always together, they were the only ones who could balance themselves out. They had to exist as a pair.
"The All-King sent me a message Shawn, did you receive it?" Claudia asked.
Shawn nodded his crooked head, "We are to stay by Louis’s side and beware of the cats," He said to confirm.
This was a secret mission that they were to perform without the knowledge of anyone else as ordered by the All-King.
"Hmmm," Claudia narrowed her eyes, "I wonder if the All-King knows that the death of Ibadon will attract the kind of attention that is troublesome."
Shawn blinked his red eyes, "He may know, he may not.
The Highest Will is inescapable, it’s not like he has the power to fight against that kind of power.
No one has."
