Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 724: Their Weakness
Massive Black pyramid.
The situation of this place was calmer than one would expect.
There were no commotions, no signs of lions running helter-skelter to prepare for battle.
Because they were already prepared.
All the cannon compartments of the Massive Black Pyramid were open, exposing all manner of cannons to the heavenly sky.
The Massive Black Pyramid was simply too large. The arkships that were currently orbiting around it looked like small planets compared to a humongous star.
And there were hundreds of thousands of these arkships around.
These arkships varied in models and modifications.
Some were specialized in stealth, and many were designed to amplify the powers of their pilots.
Others were dressed hull to engine in cannon armaments and ammunition compartments, ensuring all-around attacks.
There was no commotion, but this place was rather crowded.
For now, there were just a few hundred thousand.
But with time, more would come as this was where the final battle would be held.
Many lions and lionesses had died, so many that it was really scary.
No normal civilization could possibly shoulder the burden of losing close to a hundred billion lives to this war.
The lions had lost kings, consorts, princes, and many more. Now that the dragons invaded, they had lost a lot of cubs.
Kael, floating quietly in the midst of some insanely powerful lion kings, silently calculated the cost this war had brought upon the lion race.
The civilization of kings did not get this far without suffering anything on their own end.
The lions theoretically had a population close to a trillion spread across the galaxy. Kael had no way to confirm this number as he could only rely on the number of lions and lionesses linked to his lion system.
The number Kael had on his lion system was about eight hundred billion plus. Technically, they were still very far from the limit.
Funny enough, this particular limit was one of the things that Kael wished to exploit to keep the lions at the top of the hierarchy forever.
Out of the eight hundred billion plus, more than eighty billion were dead. That number was also steadily approaching the ninety billion mark.
That was literally more than ten percent of their total population.
Ninety billion souls, lost to the cold hands of war.
It was easier to see this as a number, and not as a testament to the sheer scale of what was happening.
How many dragons had lost was unknown.
Kael snorted. His senses spread out, covering a vast distance and exploring details of all that was close to him.
Three hundred Lion Kings were with Kael right now, surrounding him but also giving enough space that it didn’t look that crowded.
There was a gap of at least one kilometre between Kael and the closest Lion King. This distance might seem much but for the likes of Kael and these lion kings, that distance was as insignificant as a mere step.
Each and every one of these lion kings was at the peak of their tier 7 power level. All of them were also more than ten thousand years old.
These lion kings had been selected carefully as potential candidates to try out the next attempt to ascend to immortality.
With Kael standing in the center, they were meant to be acting as a form of protection for the All-King.
But strangely, most of them felt like Kael was the one protecting them. Kael’s form was just too perfect in stance. He emanated a strong and disciplined vibe that made these kings feel like they had a truly powerful backing.
Themis was a significant psychological blow to the kings.
They had always been the backers. Hardly did they have a backer themselves.
Meanwhile, Kael was thinking of something else that would make the lions shiver if they knew.
The fact that so many lions and lions had died left this Singularity Conqueror with a bitter taste in his mind.
The All-King had come to a very frightening conclusion.
The lion race, despite being so powerful, was annoyingly weak.
Their deaths, the lack of successive victories, and Ibadon’s continued existence. Wasn’t this all because they were weak?
If only those eighty billion plus lions were all tier 6, it would be hard to imagine that anyone could engineer their deaths like that.
Even the First Annihilation would not be so effective if there were many powerful entities on the receiving end at the same time.
But at the same time, eighty billion tier 6?
Kael’s analysis of why they lost so much was frightening. Not because it was accurate, but because of the solution that Kael was thinking of.
He absolutely detested weakness.
The more he lived, the more he understood why Jin had been so harsh on his own race.
As self-proclaimed tyrants of the universe, a certain standard had to be enforced.
They should be above and beyond, they should be extreme. Not just in name, but in practice
If the lions were to be ruthless to the world, they must be merciless to themselves. After all, the weakness was not needing permission to enter, it only needed space.
It was okay if the rest of the universe was entertaining weakness, but it wasn’t okay for the lions.
Kael remembered that because of Jin’s methods, the lions had developed a culture that worshipped might. That was how they were able to fight against the dragons during the first Great War despite being on the receiving end of the first appearance of the reversed Conquering Essence.
’We have gotten weaker...
What must be done, will be done...’
Kael made a calm decision in his mind. The Law of Wisdom worked on his decision-making.
Apparently, the most effective and efficient path to universal dominion was also the most brutal.
’The weak must be weeded out,’ Kael thought 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Unfortunately or fortunately, Kael’s definition of what was considered weak was anything below tier 6.
Alas, Kael’s unsettling thoughts were interrupted by the appearance of a certain Imperial Palace approaching from a distance.
A thin smile formed at the edges of Kael’s lips. He waved his hand, casually tearing a small hole in space and pulling out the battered and severed head of a Primordial Dragon.
