Natalia had panicked when she saw the massive red and black vessel parked above the mountain territory of King Kael.

She had already been panicking after seeing N'bayé's incredible actions in taking down Paradise Beach. Her spiders had been watching and they had transmitted the whole ordeal to her via their web connections.

That was just N'bayé, not Kael.

The more she watched, the more she felt that she was running out of time. Kael was expanding his kingdom fast and it was only a matter of time before he set his sights on the underground network of the spiders.

Any fool would be able to tell that Kael would find value in the networking abilities of the spiders and he would definitely be coveting it.

Natalia already guessed that Kael had his eyes on the spiders but had yet to make a move because of other things he was busy with.

She was still contemplating her actions concerning Kael when the Iron Blood Shuttle appeared above the mountain, bringing with it a majestic aura and an equally majestic king.

She had seen a magic shuttle like this one before, that shuttle that had flown out of the shattered portal some months ago.

A simple guess told her that Kael was related to those foreign lions. This only served to increase her weariness of the golden lion.

She had once used Kael to eliminate Darius before he got too powerful; she never expected that he would reach the same level.

And unfortunately, all the pawns she currently had at her disposal were not worthy of being Kael's match, Priya alone could handle most of the creatures she had in mind.

She had contemplated sending some spider assassins to assassinate Olivia so as to cripple the lion regime and rid them of their luck but common sense kept her from going with it. Natalia doubted she would succeed in assassinating a creature whose literal power was luck-based.

And even if she did, she might not survive to enjoy her victory. Kael would hunt her down, that's certain.

From her tiny spider spies, she could see that Kael's desire to show mercy fluctuated a lot. Sometimes, he was just Kael, especially to his lionesses, other times, he was utterly merciless and unforgiving.

He kept everyone on their toes, even Natalia had to be careful.

If she had known, she would have never engaged Kael in any transaction at all. Her actions had indirectly supported his growth, something which she originally didn't expect to be this much.

After contemplating further, she had decided to come forward to request a meeting with Kael.

Many other Web Handlers have been taking notice of Kael and many of them were already planning on meeting Kael in person.

There was no time to hesitate, she could either cut ties with Kael and allow other spider Web Handlers to steal her opportunity, or she could strengthen her relationship with Kael, one way or another.

Now, she waited for Kael at the bottom of the mountain along with thirty-plus spiders that had escorted her.

She was not the only one here though. A woman with one rabbit ear on her head, a fat male humanoid with two metal tusks sticking out of his mouth, and another humanoid male with goat horns in his head.

Natalia didn't know who these three were until today. She watched as they all stood with different demeanors and facial expressions on their faces.

The short female humanoid with just one rabbit ear on her head had a downcast expression. Her eyes were watery as though she was experiencing pain and was trying to hide it.

On the other side of her head, where another rabbit ear was supposed to be, a ghastly wound was settled there with blood still visible

Natalia could tell, this woman had lost a fight and had paid for it dearly.

Occasionally, the woman glanced at the fat humanoid with unhidden hatred flashing in her eyes.

The fat man with metal tusks behaved as if he didn't see her; however, he had a calm smile on his face. A greedy but smart one, Natalia judged based on his eyes alone.

The goat man on the other hand looked quite nervous, as though he was about to write an exam he didn't study for.

All of them had been asked to stay here and wait for Kael to come. None of them tried to do anything sketchy, it wasn't worth it.

Natalia didn't bother trying to use her spirit powers to read their minds because two of these entities were far stronger than her.

And even the goat man was still comparable to her in strength. She had a detailed profile of this particular goat man back when he was still an independent cave owner on the mountain during the time of Darius.

Now, all that stubbornness he once had was gone.

Natalia, who was in her half humanoid half spider form, gulped. The six dots in her cheeks widened and closed in response to her observations.

"Ah, you're all here," A deep voice entered their minds, causing all of them, including Natalia to stiffen up.

Space twisted as Kael appeared before them with his arms placed behind his back and his head held high.

The four of them stared at the king, having a sense of his aura and the might he was hiding.

Kael's golden eyes scanned all of them one after the other in a casual manner, but his eyes lingered longer on Stella.

"So each of you want to join my kingdom, I see," Kael said, his tone echoing the overwhelming confidence he had in himself, he ignored the weird gaze he was receiving from Stella.

"Umm, King Kael, I didn't come to…" Natalia started.

"You didn't come to die?" Kael interrupted her with a question, his face showed that he was genuinely serious about the question.

Natalia paused, flabbergasted, "No, I came to…"

"You came to suffer?" Kael asked again, one of his eyebrows rose as he stared at Natalia weirdly.

Harath and the goat man felt a cold chill run down their spine, they stared at Natalia as though they were staring at an idiot.

"No," Natalia shook her head as she lowered her gaze. She found that she could maintain eye contact with Kael for longer than a second.

"Oh, so what did you come to do then if not to join my kingdom?" Kael asked. He brought his arms to the front and folded them against his chest, causing his pectoral muscles to bulge.

Natalia wanted to speak but she refrained from doing so. She knew what Kael was trying to do and knew that she had to speak carefully.

Kael was in a position where he no longer needed her as badly as he did back then. He had established the Avian Intel which had helped him in scouting and intelligence gathering, making him independent of the spiders.

Although the spiders had fantastic networking abilities, Kael didn't need them to the point where he would allow himself to be dependent on them.

Kael knew this and knew that he could now afford to antagonize them openly without fear of consequences. This was a delightful feeling for him, one that he made sure to hide well.

Although he had wished to slowly integrate the spiders into his kingdom at some point, other things had come up and had taken his time.

All for the best.

As of now, Natalia was the one in the receiving position, her faction is the one to benefit most from joining the kingdom, not the other way around.

"I came to renew our deals, Your Majesty," Natalia finally responded. She bowed her upper body and her lower spider body shifted back slightly.

"Deal? What deal?" Kael asked, interested.

Natalia breathed a sigh of relief in her mind, "I wish to open up another transaction. You seek to expand your domain and I can help with that by offering my service, like before."

"Hmm," Kael seemed to sink into a state of deep thinking. He leaned back to sit down, and immediately, vines sprouted out from the ground to form a simple armchair for him.

He crossed his legs and rested on the side of his face in his propped-up knuckle while placing his elbow on the armrests. His eyes showed that he was a bit bored, like Zabita's eyes.

"But I don't need it," Kael said, "We already have people for that,"

Natalia expected Kael to say this and she had prepared things to say, "Yes Your Majesty, but I have also prepared an extensive list of potential threats, key locations, and other important information.

We also have a good web network that you can use to communicate with your subordinates over long distances.

I don't think Your Majesty has access to these tools if not for us," Natalia said with confidence.

Stella, Harath, and the goat man simply watched, each of them having different thoughts running through their minds.

Kael sighed, causing Natalia's body to tense.

"Like I said, I don't need those things, and I don't need you. We already have alternatives.

I'm starting to think you're desperate, could it be…

But come to think of it, you spiders live in my territory.

I don't remember giving your kind permission to operate under my land,"
