Regression - Second Chance At Life-Chapter 268: Thronewood
The awkward silence between the three women was immediately cut like a hot knife through soft butter.
All three women looked at Adam as he stood before them, a confident smile on his face, a knowing smile that only comes from a deep-seated sense of his own superiority.
He knows he looks good, he knows he always gets attention from the opposite sex, but the look in these three women’s eyes tells him that he looks even better than usual.
After all, this is the first time he has shopped for clothes with his new body in mind. His old clothes were a little too baggy for him, even though he’s a lot bigger than before with his bigger muscles.
This just showed how insecure his past self was when it came to his own body; that stickly, muscleless body was indeed inexcusable.
But now that he has an amazing body to show off, he should wear clothes that complement it perfectly.
Adam stands before these women with a confident and charming smile on his face, letting his handsomeness do all the talking while they gawk at him, but he also can’t just let them stare.
So after a few seconds, he finally talks. Looking at Rita, he asks her, "How do I look?"
Rita’s the one to snap out, as Adam is directly addressing her.
"Good..." Is all the word she could utter as she felt Adam’s gaze on her.
Seeing that he has stunned Rita, Adam turns to look at the other woman in the room.
Adam doesn’t pay any attention to the average-looking woman; he locks his gaze with the beautiful brunette.
From the looks of it, she looks to be in her late twenties, but Adam won’t be surprised to find that she is much older. Just the way she stands there with an air of maturity around her, it only comes from age and experience.
They stare into each other’s eyes again. Adam is smiling while Loria has her poker face on.
"What do you think miss? Does this look good on me?" Adam asks to see how this woman would react to his approach, as he has not gotten anything from her yet.
"You look okay," She says, monotone with her answer.
Adam just smiles in return. He doesn’t know what to expect from this woman. He doesn’t know if she is interested or just staring at him for the sake of staring at him.
Well, Adam’s not the type to dwell on things. If it’s not meant to be, then it’s not meant to be. He doesn’t expect every beautiful girl in the world to fall head over heels for him.
He is already satisfied with the girls in his life, but there is still room for many more.
Since the woman has shown no interest in him yet, he decides to head back into the changing room and put on something else.
But before doing that, he looks at Loria once again. "Well, since you kindly gave me your opinion, I will give you mine. That dress looks good on you, but I think red will look much better on you," He says with a smile and walks into the changing room.
With Adam’s disappearance, the atmosphere between the three ladies returned to how it was.
Rita stood nervously, and Sandra looked at Loria nervously as well, waiting for her to say something, but Loria seemed to be pondering something, and her silence made Sandra even more nervous.
"So what if he’s good-looking? He seems quite arrogant." Sandra says, trying to take Loria’s side.
Since she saw and heard Loria just dismiss Adam with a simple word, she thought Loria didn’t like Adam, hence her immediate change in perspective when it comes to Adam.
Loria just turns to look at Sandra, but doesn’t say anything. She looks back at the mirror and adjusts the dress that she has on right now.
Looking at the black dress that hugs her curves perfectly, she wonders if what Adam said was true.
When she asked Sandra about it, all she heard was praises and how beautiful she looks, but now she has someone else’s opinion, a man’s.
Loria turns to look at Rita.
"Is there a dress similar to this in red?" Loria asks.
"I will go and ask the manager. Please wait for a few minutes," Rita immediately gets out of there, as just standing near Loria scares the living hell out of her, even though she is stunningly beautiful.
A minute after Rita’s departure, Adam walks out again with different clothes on.
He looks around and sees Rita nowhere around, so he immediately looks at Loria as she looks back at him.
"Looks like Rita’s not here. Care to tell me how I look in this one?" Adam asks, staring into Loria’s eyes while not giving Sandra any attention.
He thought about moving on, but something in him tells him that there might still be a chance. After all, the look in her eyes is not one of dismissiveness.
She is just very good at keeping a poker face.
Loria stares at Adam, eyeing him from head to toe and vice versa, looking at his fitting pants, fitting shirt, which goes along with the shape of his body, then there is that handsome face of his and charming smile.
Rarely has she seen men as handsome as Adam, but then again, she is not someone who goes for looks, so Adam’s good looks don’t matter to her, but she would be lying if she said she doesn’t find Adam attractive.
If her partner comes with very good looks, that’s something she would be more than welcome to, but unfortunately, her partner is not as good-looking as Adam.
"You... look good," She says as she finds Adam even more attractive in this new outfit.
Adam smiles. ’That’s progress,’ He thinks as she praised him.
Before she said he just looked okay, which was an obvious lie; he himself thought he looked amazing in his previous outfit. So either Loria lied, or her standards are extremely high.
Whichever it is, Adam doesn’t care because he got a positive reaction from her, and this means the door is not entirely closed.
As he was about to continue his conversation with her, Rita walked in with a red dress is hand.
Adam sees it and smiles before looking at Loria, speaking with his eyes, saying to her that she did well in taking his suggestion to her heart.
"Here, please try this," Rita says, handing the new dress over to Loria. She takes it while keeping her eyes on Adam before walking into her own changing room.
Rita takes a sigh of relief and looks at Adam to feel her heart flutter again as he looks at her as well.
"Do I look good?" He asks Rita. She nods her head in agreement frantically.
"Time to try the last one," Adam says, entering his changing room once again.
A few minutes later, he walks out again, looking even better, making Rita blush while Sandra keeps staring at him with her mouth slightly open.
Adam smiles, basking in the admiration he is getting from these women. If this continues, he might actually become a narcissist.
Just when he thought he would continue to be the center of attention, Loria walks out, and every eye in the room immediately falls on her.
Adam stops breathing for a second, his iris dilates as he sees Loria step out in the red dress that was just handed to her.
If she looked beautiful before, she looks even more breathtaking.
The way the dress complements her beauty, reflecting the light on her face to give her a soft glow, while the dress itself hugs her body to perfection. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Her body’s curves are unmatched as she has that perfect hourglass shape; nothing is too small or too big, which makes every part of her body stand out in unison.
A beauty like hers is one in a million. Rivaling Isla, maybe she is a tiny bit more beautiful than Isla.
This makes Adam wonder what amazing thing he has done that he has become a magnet for extremely beautiful-looking women.
Wherever he goes, there is a beautiful woman ready to be claimed by him.
Not that he is complaining.
He continues to stare at her, every inch of her body burned into his mind, and as his gaze meets her, he sees a small smile on her lips that immediately fades away.
She knew she won this round as her beauty managed to deal a critical hit on Adam, giving him the taste of his own medicine.
"Like I said, red suits you much better. You look stunning," Adam says, not bothering to hide his approval of her. Why bother to act nonchalant when you don’t need to?
"You look decent as well," She says, eyeing Adam in his new clothes.
"Will you honor me with your beautiful name?" Adam asks as he takes a step closer, extending his hand in a gentlemanly way.
Seeing Adam’s palm, Loria slowly extends her hand and places it on his. "Loria... Loria Thronewood," she says.
’Thornewood... where have I heard that name?’ Adam wonders.
"Nice to meet you, Miss Thornewood. My name’s Adam... Adam Grant," He says, pulling the back of her hand closer to his lips and giving it a soft kiss.
"It’s Mrs," Loria immediately corrects himself.
Adam’s eyes show a flash of disappointment, but only for a second, because when has the woman being married stopped him from getting the woman he wants?
