Chapter 84: Into the 10th Floor Part XIV - Kath’s Assistance

Back in the arena, Korr’Thal swung two fists in tandem, a deadly pincer move.

I barely twisted away, feeling the heat as its claws tore through the air inches from my face.

I countered with a rapid series of jabs — flame trailing each strike — but the titan’s defense was ironclad, blocking and parrying with supernatural reflexes.

One of its six arms lashed out, knocking me off balance. I stumbled, crashing hard onto the ground, the air knocked out of me.

Pain flared sharp and deep, but I refused to stay down.

Grimacing, I pushed off the stone floor, flames flickering wildly around me.

"Korr’Thal... I’m not done yet."

I summoned every ounce of strength and launched a blazing punch that connected cleanly with Korr’Thal’s jaw. The impact echoed through the arena, staggering the colossal beast backward. Flames flickered wildly as it snarled, clearly feeling the sting.

But before I could press the advantage, Korr’Thal retaliated with brutal precision.

One of its massive arms slammed into my chest like a wrecking ball.

The force sent me flying across the arena, crashing against the jagged stone wall.

Pain exploded through my ribs and lungs, and darkness crept at the edges of my vision.

I struggled to stay conscious.

Just as I was about to collapse, Noel and Astraia appeared at my side.

They steadied me, their presence grounding me.

Noel’s grip was firm, his eyes sharp despite the exhaustion.

Astraia’s breath was heavy, but her voice calm and determined.

"We’ve got you," Noel said.

I took a shaky breath, pushed myself upright.

"My turn’s not over."

Noel and Astraia quickly stepped between me and Korr’Thal, blocking my path before I could charge in again.

"Wait," Noel said, breathing heavily but steady. "We can’t let you face it alone right now. You need to catch your breath."

Astraia nodded, her eyes sharp and calculating despite the exhaustion. "We’re going to coordinate our attacks. Hit it from all sides, wear it down together."

I clenched my fists, the burning urge to finish this pressing hard in my chest, but I knew they were right. I forced myself to step back, letting them take the lead.

Noel’s voice cut through the tension, steady and commanding. "I’ll distract it with lightning and sword strikes—keep its focus on me."

Somewhere far from the Rift...

The scene unfolded in silence inside a high-security watchtower nestled in the heart of Northern Luzon. A wide screen showed the battlefield in horrifying clarity — Blank, Noel, and Astraia, standing against the monstrous calamity that was Korr’Thal, the Reforged Tri-Soul Behemoth.

Katherine stood frozen in front of the display, one hand pressed to her chest.

The flames around Blank twisted in rage and desperation. Every strike he landed was inching him closer to collapse. His Astral Overdrive was waning. Blood coated his limbs. His movements—while powerful—were slowing.

"...He’s going to burn himself out," Katherine whispered.

Her team looked to her, uncertain. The tension in the room was suffocating.

Then a pulse.Soft. Familiar.

A golden sigil shimmered beneath her palm — the symbol of her Astral Patron, Eira, the Whispering Bloom — glowing faintly.

A voice, smooth and absolute, echoed inside her soul:

"Your power is ready, Chosen. The strings of fate tug at your mercy.Invoke it, and time shall bend once more. One life may burn bright again."

Her eyes widened.

She clenched her fists.

One use. One person. One day.

"Use it," one of her teammates muttered. "You know who needs it."

Another one stepped forward, whispering, "You’ve seen it, Kat. That monster’s still healing. Blank is the only one making a dent. If he falls—this fight ends."

Katherine didn’t answer immediately.

She stared at the screen — at the burning man who once stood by her side in another time.Who had died.Alone.

Now he stood again.Alone.

His silhouette against the colossal titan looked like a candle in a storm. And still, he fought.

Her heart clenched.

"...I’ll do it."

She reached out her hand. Aurellion’s sigil blazed in golden light.

[Casting: Blessing of Eternal Thread]

Target: BlankConfirm?

"Yes," she said aloud.

A pulse of golden light burst from the heavens, too far for the Rift cameras to catch, yet somewhere in the system’s weave—something shifted.

A change.

A second wind.

A miracle.

Back in the Labyrinth.

[System Alert: External Influence Detected.]

I gasped—like cold, fresh air had slammed into my lungs.

My bones stopped screaming. My vision cleared. The haze of mana-burn evaporated from my skin like mist under sunlight.

I stood. Straightened. Flexed my hands. My mana surged.

I was whole again. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"...What the hell—?"

Noel and Astraia looked at me with wide eyes as I straightened up, flames beginning to swirl naturally around my limbs once more.

And for the first time in that entire fight—Korr’Thal took a step back.

It recognized it too.

I met its many glowing eyes, the burning winds whipping around me again.

"You’re healed..." Astraia whispered. "How...?"

I didn’t answer.

My lips pulled into a grin.

"Round two," I muttered, "Let’s finish this."

And this time, I wasn’t alone.

The flames around me pulsed—not with fury, but with clarity. Like I had been reborn in the very heart of the fire.

My body moved as if it had never been wounded. The pain, the exhaustion, the fading Astral Overdrive... all gone. A fresh tide of strength coursed through me, surging through every limb with purpose.

Noel and Astraia looked at me like they were seeing something divine—something unreal. But I wasn’t thinking about them.

Not entirely.

I looked up, just past Korr’Thal’s monstrous frame, toward the blood-red sky of the Labyrinth.

And then... I whispered, almost soundless beneath my breath:

"...Thanks, Kath."

A soft exhale followed.

"She’s the only one who could’ve done this," I muttered to myself. "That global heal... you always had it, even before."

Even now, I could almost feel the faint echo of her mana threading through mine. Not overpowering. Not overwhelming.

Just enough.

A lifeline through the storm.
