Regressing Through the Apocalypse with the Third Male Lead-Chapter 22
Chapter 22: Chapter 22
The night came. Everyone was now sleeping comfortably in the seats of the plane. Some were in the economic class while the younger ones were in the business class.
As usual, Freyah couldn’t sleep yet again.
But she had no time to sleep at the moment. She had a picture in her hand. She left a note in the door of the plane.

I’ll be out. Don’t leave the plane until I return tomorrow. Stray zombies can be anywhere.
- Freyah

Then slowly and as quietly as she could, she opened the door of the plane and closed it.
She jumped down to the ground and looked around her.
The night was chilly and quiet. Then steadily as she could she started running and headed to her motorcycle.
"Where do you think your aunt could be?"
"Other than my house, the usual places that my aunt visits are the church in Sta. Ana, and the market place near there. She didn’t mention that she will go to other places today."
"What do you think she is wearing?"
"She has this favorite t-shirt. A yellow t-shirt with small red and pink roses floral print. I didn’t see that shirt in the house when we went there."
Freyah asked Harley this after their dinner. In her mind at the moment, she only needed one thing. To be able to find that aunt and end all of this so that she would not need to use force to get everyone out of the city.
This time, instead of wasting time to kill zombies, she headed straight back to the area of the house of Harley. She reached the place faster than before since they were able to clear the area before.
She looked everywhere, observing and killing the zombies one by one. Until she cleared up the whole area, but Harley’s aunt was still not there.
’December 15 is a Sunday. , She will probably be in the church.’ With the next thought in her mind, she drove to her next destination.
The Sta. Ana Church. It was just a 20 minute ride from her initial location. But while driving, she looked right and left to check every zombie she came across with.
She was going to turn left to the next crossroad when...
Eek... Eek... Eek...
"That sound!" Her eyes widened when she heard that sound. A sound that was like that of the witch.
Without wasting time, she jumped up right away from her motorcycle. Then as soon as she did, while she was still in the air, three long tongues smashed the motorcycle.
The saliva was green and as soon it touched the motorcycle, it melted the parts of it.
Level 3 Evolved Zombie.
TikTik.
This was what they call these zombies. Similar to the appearance of the folklore ghoul called TikTik, it has the ability to stretched out it’s tongue. It crawled on the walls or the ceiling. The difference was instead of eating unborn babies, it preferred to eat what a regular zombie would want to eat, then it’s stretched up to 20 meters laced with an acid that melted everything it touched.
Freyah landed swiftly on the ground. Then immediately looked up. There were three TikTik zombies on the walls of the house surrounding her.
"A level 3 zombie, in just six days of the apocalypse?" She was surprised and worried. These creatures would still appear two weeks from now on. But it seemed just like how she was hastily doing things to survive, these zombies were also quickly evolving.
She immediately brought out only one knife this time. The tiktik zombies’ brain was located in their left thigh. And it was covered with their hard muscles.
However, there was a marble sized weak gap on the front, and once you hit it precisely, you would be able to hit the brain precisely.
The only problem was since they were crawling in the walls, one needed to either made them stand up or lie down in front. Plus, it was not easy getting nearer them because of their acidic stretching tongues. This zombies killed a lot of survivors back then.
But to Freyah... She had an easy way to deal with this. "This will be the first time in a while while I need to work more for a zombie." Freyah looked right, and as soon as one of the tongues was going to hit her.
She grabbed it with her bare free right hand.
"Yes. This is that familiar sting of your kind." She grinned looking at the Tiktik zombies. The acid was burning her hand, however, with her regeneration it was scaling between being melted and regenerating back.
Without a moment to waste, she pulled the tongue towards her, yanking the tiktik from the wall.
It flew towards her.
"Eek!"
As soon as the face of the tiktik was inches away from Freyah, she sliced it’s head. Swiftly decapitating it.
Then she threw the head on the ground and went straight to the headless body that was now standing up. Without a moment to waste, she lunged forward and stabbed the gap on the right thigh of the tiktik. It convulsed before completely falling in the ground, completely dead.
Freyah turned around to catch two tongues trying to sneak attack on her. She tightened the grip on the tongues she caught. Then pulling it hard towards her.
She did the same thing from the first tiktik. Her grin was wide as she decapitated both of its heads simultaneously.
She stomped on it’s head crushing it completely. Then she proceeded to the first body and stabbed it’s thigh.
Then to the third headless body, and stabbing the third one.
"Trying to sneak attack on me, huh." She pulled out her knife and swayed the blood of the zombies away. That was when, as the knife glinted on the fading light of the streetlight. Freyah noticed something on the reflection from the knife.
At one of the tiktik zombies, there was a strapped of torn cloth covering it’s left shoulder. Freyah yanked the cloth from the decapitated headless body of the zombies.
A yellow fabric with floral red and pink roses print. Her eyes squinted.
For a zombie to evolve, it meant one thing, it needed to eat plenty of humans. And to the higher level of zombies from level 6 and above, it would start eating at lower level zombies and go crazy for an evolved humans so that they would be able to level up further.
"So you are Auntie Carla. I finally found you." Freyah knelt one of her knees to the tiktik zombie. "Don’t worry, I won’t tell your nephew, Auntie. And he is doing great so far, he is the mind and skill to survive in this nightmare. He is the same age as my younger brother." Freyah sat comfortably in the cross legs in front of the tiktik then stayed for the next couple of minutes. Telling everything she observed with Harley so far.
"You rest in peace now. I’ll also look out for that boy." Freyah finally said and stood up. She went back to her broken motorcycle and fetch a gasoline.
Then she poured it to the tiktik zombies. She threw the can away and grabbed a match on her pocket.
She lit the match and threw it to the bodies of the tiktik. As soon as the match touched the gasoline, it spreaded faster than even before.
She stared at the flames dancing as it burned the zombies. Memories playing in her mind... About the people closed to her who turned into zombies in her past life.
If it was someone she knew or closed with, she always burn their bodies until nothing was left. So that, they would not be a food to the higher level zombies.
She would not leave until everything became a complete ash. If there would still be some bones left, she would pour more gasoline and lit it one more time. Just to make sure, that there would be nothing left.
Since they were strayed zombies around, she started killing them for the meantime though instead of waiting.
Everything was over, when it was nearly 5:00 am. She glanced at the skies, the sun was setting up earlier than usual, playing now with the colors of red, blue and orange.
If Harley was the one who find his aunt like this. That kid might die right away. "Finally, we can leave now without any worries. I just need to stop at one more place. Given that zombies with higher levels are appearing, I don’t need to delay upgrading the weapons."
Freyah looked for a motorcycle this time again. She found one a few meters away and twisted it’s wirings. Then she drove to the gun store that she knew that was around the area.
She arrived there faster than before, since there were barely stray zombies at the moment. She stopped in front of the gun store.
And grinned when it was barely touched at the moment.
"Now, I just need a truck to load everything. I should have brought Tatay Timothy. But at the same time, perhaps it’s a good thing. I didn’t bring him when facing those tiktiks."
Freyah started looking around for a truck.

Meanwhile...
In the center of Manila, sounds of gunshot reverberating through the whole grounds. Desperate cries of people and soldiers screaming.
Multiple explosions could be heard.
In the middle of the chaos was a monster, sitting in a stool. Half of their face was burned on the left side was glowing with bloody red and the other right side was filled with white powder.
He was laughing maniacally as the chaos continued to unfold surrounding him. "This is it. Finally, all you fuckers will die this time."
