Redemption of a Born Demon-Chapter 80: A Divine Spirit from a Painting, a Dao Field in the City
On the pedestrian street.
Yi Beidou watched Zhu Zi’Er’s figure disappear into the crowd, then slowly withdrew his gaze.
Her True Intent was one-of-a-kind and not to be underestimated. He had gained a great deal from their spar.
Grasping the mysteries of his own Life Magnetic Field was like opening the door to a new world.
"Let’s go. On to the next location."
Yi Beidou didn’t linger. He turned and walked toward the other end of the pedestrian street.
He eagerly anticipated what kind of surprise his next opponent would bring.
Zhou Baiwei and the other two immediately followed. Wherever they went, the crowd automatically parted, clearing a path for them.
Once Yi Beidou’s group had completely vanished, they left behind a crowd of bewildered onlookers on the pedestrian street.
’What in the world was that all about?’
「At the same time.」
An urban legend was quietly spreading through the martial arts and Cultivation Circles of Dragon Tiger Town.
In the northern part of Dragon Tiger Town stood an abandoned, two-story Western-style villa.
The surroundings were overgrown with weeds, looking as if no one had tended to them for some time, giving it a desolate air.
Now, however, many private cars were parked around the two-story villa, a good number of them high-end models. Twenty to thirty people were gathered dozens of meters away from the villa, whispering among themselves.
Many of these people were dressed in the uniforms of martial arts halls or Daoist temples. They were agile, with abundant qi and blood, and clearly possessed some degree of skill. There were even some foreign faces among them.
A car drove up and parked on the side of the road, and several figures in training uniforms stepped out.
Leading them was a tall, middle-aged man. He walked with the stride of a dragon and the gait of a tiger, his gaze like a torch, and his breath was long and steady.
"Mr. Qi from Taihe Martial Arts Hall is here."
The crowd immediately recognized the middle-aged man.
He was Qi Shengping, Hall Master of the Taihe Martial Arts Hall. In his early years, he had been an Outer Sect disciple of Dragon Tiger Mountain and had learned the Dragon and Tiger Pile Technique. He later returned to secular life, left the mountain to travel, and made quite a name for himself.
Later, answering the call of the Elder Celestial Master, he returned to Dragon Tiger Town to open a martial arts hall. Within the town’s martial arts hall circles, his Cultivation ranked among the top three.
"Everyone, sorry to keep you waiting. Is this the place?"
Qi Shengping asked, greeting some acquaintances from other martial arts halls in the crowd.
"Director Qi, you’re finally here. That expert is on the second floor of the villa, but he hasn’t shown himself. He doesn’t forbid us from observing or trying our hand, but only five people can go in at a time. Anyone who can make it to the second floor can meet him. We’ve already gathered four masters at the Realm of Mighty Spirit. We were just waiting for you."
A portly, middle-aged hall master stepped forward and said.
The story began the night before last. A foreign martial arts apprentice, who had come here drawn by its reputation, liked to wander aimlessly around the city. He fantasized about having a fortuitous encounter at the foot of Donghua Immortal Mountain that would allow him to achieve enlightenment through Cultivation in a single day—clearly the type who’d read too many novels.
As it happened, the night before last, he wandered over to this abandoned villa. Being extremely bold, he saw a light inside and went closer to investigate. Peeking through the front door, he saw several paintings hanging on the walls of the main hall.
The moment he stepped into the hall, a ferocious-looking Rakshasa Ghost in one of the paintings suddenly leaped out, brandishing a steel trident as if to stab him. It scared the foreigner so badly that he pissed himself, running back screaming and crying to tell his master what had happened.
At first, his master didn’t believe him, but the foreigner was so insistent and pleaded so relentlessly that he had no choice but to go and see for himself.
The result was that news of the villa’s supernatural phenomena quickly spread within a small circle in Dragon Tiger Town’s Cultivation Circle. People from many martial arts halls and Daoist temples came, wanting to find out the truth.
"Four of you joined forces, and you still couldn’t even get to the second floor?"
Hearing this, a look of astonishment appeared in Qi Shengping’s eyes.
The other hall masters just shook their heads with wry smiles.
"The one on the second floor... is likely one of *those* people. You’ve probably heard, something big seems to be happening on Dragon Tiger Mountain recently..." a lean but sharp-eyed hall master said in a low voice.
Qi Shengping took a deep breath. He knew exactly what they meant by *those* people.
"In that case, let the five of us join forces and give it a try."
Qi Shengping said, his gaze fixed on the two-story villa.
’If it really is one of *those* people, then having the chance to ask for guidance in person would be a rare opportunity for us.’
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Qi Shengping and the four other hall masters walked toward the villa’s front door.
As he neared the entrance, Qi Shengping could already see posters and paintings plastered on the walls of the dimly lit main hall.
Furious-eyed Vajras, Gatekeeper Generals, Rakshasa Evil Ghosts, Celestial King Protectors, Exotic Beast Evil Spirits...
Each image was so lifelike it seemed about to leap from the paper. As they approached, the pairs of eyes in the paintings appeared to focus on them, making Qi Shengping’s heart skip a beat.
’Spirits manifesting from paintings? Is it really this miraculous?’
"Be careful, Hall Master Qi," the portly hall master said in a low voice, before stepping into the villa with the others.
Qi Shengping dared not hesitate and immediately followed them inside.
The instant they stepped through the door.
BOOM!!
The dozen or two dozen images of Divine Spirits and Fierce Beasts plastered around the hall seemed to come completely alive.
Spirits manifested from the paintings, Deities descended upon the mortal world, their divine might terrifying.
But these five were all masters of the Realm of Mighty Spirit. They each let out a low shout, mobilizing their Fist Intent to resist the pressure.
The five of them joined forces and strode toward the back of the hall.
However, as they ventured deeper into the hall, the oppressive feeling grew stronger and stronger, and the scene before their eyes completely transformed.
They were no longer in a dilapidated, abandoned hall, but in a majestic palace that resembled the Lingxiao Palace itself.
Lining both sides of this great hall stood figures of Deities and Rakshasas, their eyes glinting with menace, looking as if they might suppress them at any moment.
And they were like ordinary mortals who had stumbled into Lingxiao Palace, trying to reach the depths of the sanctum and disturb the leader of these many Deities and Rakshasas.
HUFF! HUFF!
After advancing ten meters into the hall, the five men’s steps grew slower and slower. Their breathing became ragged, and their backs were soaked with cold sweat. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
The closer they got to the first-floor staircase, the more immense the pressure became. By now, the Deities and Rakshasas in their vision had swelled to the size of mountains. They raised their weapons, and a surging killing intent erupted, threatening to utterly destroy these intruders.
THUD!!
The five of them froze in place, unable to take another step forward.
Five hall masters, joining forces, couldn’t even cross the main hall or reach the second floor?!
The crowd watching from afar was profoundly shaken.
As disciples of the various martial arts halls and Daoist temples, they were well aware of their own hall masters’ strength. On a normal day, even ten of them together couldn’t get close to one of them.
And yet, this person hadn’t even shown their face. Just by using a few paintings hung in the hall, they had stopped five of Dragon Tiger Town’s most renowned hall masters in their tracks. Just what kind of person was on the second floor?
They felt that perhaps even true Immortal Gods were only capable of such feats.
SCREECH!!
Just then, an SUV drove up from the distance and parked by the side of the road.
Two men and two women got out of the vehicle. Their figures, appearances, and auras were all striking, immediately drawing everyone’s attention.
’Which martial arts hall or Daoist temple are they from? Why do they look so unfamiliar? I’ve never seen them before.’
Yi Beidou ignored the attention, his eyes falling upon the small villa.
"Interesting. To think someone would go to the trouble of setting up a Dao Field in an unfamiliar city."
Yi Beidou chuckled softly, then led Meng Qianyuan, Yang Mutong, and Zhou Baiwei toward the villa.
