"South or North, which way?" Xing Mo asked.

"South. Going north would mean detouring around Fang City, which is too risky," Song Wen replied.
"Alright! South it is."
Xing Mo controlled the boat, dragging his daughter as they headed south.
A wave of Gui Yuan Qi surged from Song Wen's body, enveloping Shan Yue as they followed behind Xing Mo.
The four of them traveled swiftly through the forest, encountering no obstacles. Two hours later, they were less than ten miles from the coast.
The sea was eerily calm. Song Wen and Xing Mo both extended their spiritual senses to probe the surroundings but found no trace of any demons.
"Fellow daoist, it seems there are no ambushing demons nearby," Xing Mo remarked.
Song Wen shook his head. "We can't be careless."
"What do you plan to do?" Xing Mo asked.
"Charge through in one go," Song Wen answered.
"Alright!"
Xing Mo nodded and summoned a small flying ship.
The four of them boarded, and the ship lifted into the air, heading straight for the coast.
"Yee... yaa... yaa..."
Just as the flying ship soared over the sea, an eerie melody suddenly echoed across the waters.
The song was gentle and melodious, flowing like a mountain stream. It carried a deep, emotional resonance, as if narrating a tragic yet ancient love story. The voice was captivating, filled with tender sorrow, making it impossible to resist its allure.
It seemed to weave an illusion of endless love and longing, luring its listeners into a dreamlike trance.
Xing Shan and Shan Yue were immediately entranced by the mysterious song.
Their eyes turned vacant, and eerie smiles spread across their faces as if they had stepped into a beautiful dream.
Slowly, they began walking toward the ship's railing, seemingly ready to throw themselves into the vast ocean.
Xing Mo clenched his fists tightly, shutting his eyes. His expression flickered between intoxication and tension, as if he was struggling to resist the song's hypnotic power.
"Boom! Boom!"
Two dull thuds echoed.
Shan Yue and Xing Shan collapsed, unconscious.
Then, a powerful voice roared—
"Wake up!"
Xing Mo snapped back to reality, his face darkened with lingering fear.
"Push the ship to full speed and get out of this sea as fast as possible!"
Song Wen's voice left no room for hesitation.
Under Xing Mo's control, the ship surged forward at full speed.
Moments later, he spoke in a grave tone—
"This is the song of the Sea Demon Sharkmen."
Song Wen nodded. "Fortunately, it was only a third-tier Sharkman. Otherwise, we would have been in serious trouble."
"Fellow daoist, it seems you don't fully understand the power of the Sharkmen. Among the many sea beasts in the deep ocean, Sharkmen are one of the most intelligent races. They use their superior intelligence and spiritual perception to enslave lower-minded sea beasts, controlling them as their minions. This means that wherever Sharkmen appear, there are usually powerful sea beasts lurking nearby."
Just as Xing Mo finished speaking, the ocean below suddenly churned violently.
A massive water column, over ten meters in diameter, erupted from the sea, shooting straight at the flying ship.
Xing Mo's expression stiffened, and he hastily altered the ship's course to evade.
The ship, which had been flying in a straight line, suddenly arced through the air, narrowly dodging the water column.
However, more water columns erupted one after another, seemingly relentless in their pursuit of the ship.
The flying ship weaved through the water pillars with agile movements.
At the stern, Song Wen stood with a solemn expression, eyes locked onto the sea below.
The ones launching the water attacks were several enormous sea creatures.
The sea beasts resembled whales, each over a thousand feet long, leaping and churning in the water as they pursued the flying ship.
The water columns were sprayed from large blowholes on their heads.
Xing Mo maneuvered the ship skillfully, dodging the continuous barrage of water columns while ascending rapidly to escape their range.
Suddenly—
The once-melodious and lingering song transformed into a high-pitched battle hymn, surging with power and grandeur, igniting an unexplainable sense of heroism and determination.
Upon hearing it, an overwhelming boldness surged through Xing Mo's heart. To his shock, he found himself steering the ship downward, diving straight toward one of the massive water columns.
Song Wen's expression changed drastically—he wanted to warn Xing Mo, but it was already too late.
"Boom!"
The flying ship crashed violently into the thick water column.
Waves exploded, sending water splashing in all directions.
In an instant, the ship shattered into countless fragments, caught in the raging currents and plummeting toward the sea below.
Just before the ship collided with the water column, Song Wen's body became enveloped in his Gui Yuan Qi, shielding him completely.
Without hesitation, he released a burst of energy, grabbing Shan Yue and pulling her away from the destruction.
Then, in a swift motion, Song Wen soared higher into the sky.
The impact jolted Xing Mo awake.
Summoning a massive black cauldron—an imposing defensive artifact—he swiftly cast it downward to protect Xing Shan.
However, before he could stabilize himself, both he and the cauldron were struck by another water column.
It felt like being rammed by a monstrous beast—Xing Mo was instantly flung through the air, blood gushing from his mouth like a fountain.
Enduring the searing pain that tore through his body, he circulated his spiritual energy, dragging the cauldron with him as he fled toward the sky.
Before long, both Song Wen and Xing Mo had ascended high into the misty clouds, out of reach of the water columns.
Yet, just as they were about to catch their breath—
A sudden change occurred.
From within the dense clouds, two figures emerged.
They were Sharkmen.
With humanoid upper bodies and long fish-like tails, the two creatures had the appearances of beautiful women, their jade-like skin smooth and their long, flowing hair cascading like waves.
Yet, when they opened their mouths, rows of razor-sharp teeth gleamed ominously. Their eyes were filled with bloodthirsty intent.
The Sharkmen let out piercing shrieks, sharp and high-pitched.
Under the assault of this sonic wave, the once-serene clouds trembled violently.
Moisture within the mist condensed under the sonic pressure, turning into a fine drizzle that rained down.
Song Wen and Xing Mo felt as though countless needles were stabbing into their eardrums, the pain drilling deep into their minds, nearly splitting their heads apart.
"Get lost!"
Song Wen roared.
Two blades of spiritual energy shot forth, piercing the Sharkmen's heads.
Their bodies trembled, and the shrieking ceased abruptly.
But Sharkmen were known to have the strongest spiritual perception among the chaotic sea beasts. These two were clearly elite third-tier Sharkmen—not so easily defeated.
A flash of murderous intent flickered in their eyes as they prepared to unleash another sonic attack.
However, before they could act, another set of spiritual blades struck, driving into their skulls.
Song Wen had no intention of engaging in a prolonged battle.
With a sudden burst of speed, he shot toward the distant horizon.
Xing Mo followed closely behind.
Though the Sharkmen were powerful in the ocean, their speed in aerial pursuits was limited. Gradually, they fell behind, unable to catch up.
Eventually, they could only watch in frustration as Song Wen and Xing Mo disappeared into the distance.
