Reborn: The Return of the Villainous Mr. Liu-Chapter 1087: Hogged all space
Chapter 1087: Hogged all space
Needless to say, the next few days were nothing but a massive celebration in the Liu villa. Though the actual function was still away, it didn’t seem like the excitement in the air would die anytime soon. Jin had also decided to work from home to be with his niece.
A decision Alix understood but not necessarily appreciated. Because the more Jin stayed, the more he endlessly talked about her and the more he talked about her, the more she felt like meeting the little one just out of curiosity. But she couldn’t. Yes, she did chat and play around with Ailun but his sister felt out of the boundary. At least for now. The sense of helplessness was agitating her and she only blamed Jin for that.
So as a small means of revenge, Alix hogged three-fourth of the wardrobe space and dumped all his exquisite suits and shirts into a lump in a corner. Jin saw the pitiful state of his expensive clothes after he stepped out of the shower and stared at the spacious side which held Alix’s collection of clothes.
He slowly turned and found Alix to be reading her book, expressionless. He pressed his lips.
Yeah maybe she really needs that much space. A wife must never be questioned.
When he stepped in front of the dressing mirror, once again, three-fourth of the table’s space was consumed by Alix’s beauty products and essentials, which weren’t really any greater in number than Jin’s essentials but it was what it was. Apparently, Alix had very strategically placed her products in a way that gave off an illusion as if she really needed that much space.
He glanced at her and found out that even his side of the bed had reduced to a pitiful narrow rectangular space that would barely fit his body at night. But instead of being annoyed, an uncontrollable smile twitched his lips. He found her tactics cuter than frustrating.
"Hey."
She looked up, displeased by his disturbance.
"Have I upset you in any way?"
"How many reasons is the limit? You’ll be tired of counting."
"How about we start with the latest one?"
"You have too much money. I hate it."
"I think there is one reason after that too."
"Your work from home."
He smiled and sat beside her, albeit keeping a distance so as to not make her uncomfortable.
"Is it really my work from home or my endless chatting about my cute niece?"
"Why will I be bothered by that?" She feigned ignorance.
"Because you really want to meet her but you are stopping yourself."
She squinted her eyes. "You started daydreaming now?"
"You know you can meet her, right? Zhou Ai has been asking for you."
She smiled. "You didn’t include your brother in that."
"Actually, Bro wants to meet you the most..."
Alix kept the book away and ruthlessly pushed him out of the bed. "You are taking up my space. I want to sleep."
"It’s morning already."
"This is my second nap time. You have a problem with that?" She threw him a pointed glare and ducked herself in the blanket.
Jin scratched his chin and released a sigh.
Well, this won’t work at all.
—
Unexpectedly, Alix had actually fallen asleep and by the time she woke from her second nap, it was already afternoon. The cats immediately jumped to her side as if they were waiting for her to be awake and play with them. She ruffled under their chins and let out a yawn.
So bored...Ah, I really want to go outside.
Staying cooped up in the room for the entire day days after days was now taking a toll on her. She touched her chin and contemplated.
Afternoons were generally quieter in the villa as everybody rested after lunch. She wondered if she could have a quick walk for a breath of fresh air.
It wasn’t that hard to decide because if she were to remain in the room for a moment longer, she knew she would go crazy and probably truly act upon her murderous urges towards Jin.
Carrying the cats with her, Alix stepped out but not without scanning every direction. Still alert and cautious, she walked very slowly while her gaze travelled in all directions to spot any Liu hopping around. She eventually felt at ease and made her way all the way outside to the garden.
Haaaa...
Alix took in a deep, long breath of the pleasant air and finally felt alive. The cats hopped out of her arms and dispersed to have their own fun in the garden.
She snorted.
Just wanted a royal carriage ride to the garden.
But she was in a good mood. The Liu villa’s garden was truly a sight to behold. She walked along the path with slow steps and her hands at the back while she watched the birds sing and fly in the sky. At one point, she stopped and almost got a heart attack.
Without a second thought, she swiftly hid behind a tree as soon as her gaze fell at a distance where she saw Ai seated on the bench near the fountain. A big baby stroller was parked beside her. Alix peeked out and took a sneaky look only to notice that Ai wasn’t moving at all. She blinked once.
Why is she so...stationary?
Fuck! Has she fainted or something?
Alix zapped out of her hiding space with that realization and was at the bench a second later. Slightly breathless, she took a careful look at her and then her expression twisted.
She is just sleeping! And here I thought she got wasted or something!
She cast her a severe, unpleasant gaze.
Is this the time or place to snore?
Her feelings quickly changed when her gaze flicked to the stroller that held a baby girl all snuggled up inside. Unlike her mother, she wasn’t sleeping but fully focused on Alix with all her attention.
The baby stared at Alix. Alix stared at the baby.
Alix slowly leaned and slightly tilted her head, not expecting that her little stroll in the garden would lead her to meeting the newborn.
"Huh...so you are Junxi."
