Chapter 1014: Chapter 1008: Called for Rescue_1
“Chu Molin, come quickly. You go help me pack some clothes, and grab the bag I’ve prepared. Here’s a telegram, you should read it. I’m going to tell Lele, and ask her to look after the children.” Qin Xue quickly stuffed the telegram into his arms and then ran off.
“Xue’er, I’ll come with you,” Chu Molin replied, unfolding the telegram. After calling out to Qin Xue, who had already run off, he walked back to the room to fetch her bag as she had asked.
“What’s happened?” Xue Ling asked, observing Chu Molin’s actions.
“You should read this, I have no time to explain now.” Chu Molin handed the telegram over to Xue Ling, and began to gather his own belongings and his wife’s things.
“I knew this would happen,” Xue Ling murmured. She had sensed something amiss, but didn’t know the specifics.
“What do you mean by ‘I knew this would happen’?” Qin Xue entered the room from talking with her sister to check on her husband’s progress and heard Xue Ling’s words.
“Remember a while back when I spent a considerable amount of time making medicine in the Imperial Capital? I felt uneasy then, but I didn’t know why. I thought it might have something to do with the two of you, so I kept making medicine capsules. Not knowing what the problem was, I made a large quantity of every kind as a precaution. Now, with what’s happened, I understand where my unease was coming from,” Xue Ling explained, recounting her past actions to Qin Xue.
“So you made all the medicine because of your uneasiness?” Qin Xue thought of all the medicine Xue Ling had made and asked her to store in her space, nearly filling her bamboo hut. She had asked Xue Ling why so much medication was needed, but she didn’t give a clear reason. Now she knew, but the reasoning was heavy to bear.
“Yes, I sensed something because it involved both of you. But, since I didn’t know what it was or where, I couldn’t tell you why,” Xue Ling confessed, her current level of mana was insufficient to make a clear prediction.
“Alright, I understand. Stay here and look after our home and children for me. Chu Molin and I are travelling to the disaster area. Take good care of everything at home,” Qin Xue didn’t blame Xue Ling. She didn’t think anyone would want this situation, and besides, the large number of life-saving medicinal capsules Xue Ling made were invaluable. She felt grateful.
The fact that Xue Ling did this was because she considered Qin Xue her owner and respected Chu Molin as her husband. Simply put, Xue Ling had their best interests at heart.
“Don’t worry, I’ll look after the house. This time you’re going without me, you must be careful. My life depends on yours, only if you stay safe can I survive. Otherwise, I won’t be able to,” Xue Ling sighed reluctantly.
“Rest assured, we will be okay. We still have two children and family to take care of; we’re not going anywhere,” Qin Xue reassured Xue Ling, understanding she was worried about their safety.
“Xue’er, we’re ready. Let’s go,” Chu Molin said, holding a small bag and handing her another one.
“Okay, let’s go,” Qin Xue agreed, accepting the bag and leaving with Chu Molin. They encountered Qin Lei and her elderly parents at the door.
Qin Xue decided there wasn’t time for an extended goodbye, but she knew she had to say something to her father, so she began to speak.
