Reborn In Another World As A Spirit Familiar-Chapter 243: Butting Heads
Chapter 243 - Butting Heads
The throne room was transformed into a space similar to Belrick's tornado. We were suspended in the air, hovering over a ruined land. It kinda looked like a kingdom that got hit with a meteor. Large stone debris rose and fell along with us, as if gravity was unstable. It felt pretty similar to another situation I've been in before.
("This is like when Jukhan destroyed a valley!") [Solace]
It was hard to push myself anywhere without being able to push off of anything. Well, the breeze still moved me slowly. For something like this, it was Master against Jukhan. Here, it was us against Zyrig. As soon as I saw Zyrig stretch out his wings, I knew what was going to happen.
"Guys! Get to any debris you can!" [Solace]
It was obvious that against his advantage of being able to fly, we humans were like sitting ducks in this environment.
"YOU!!!" [Zyrig]
With a mighty flap of his wings, Zyrig made a beeline towards me.
"I'LL KILL YOU!!!" [Zyrig]
Using the blackened aura around him, he formed, crystalized, and solidified a large double sided hammer.
"Oh shit!" [Solace]
I raised my arms to block it, but I found that it wasn't enough.
"Alert: |Blooming Undying| activation confirmed. All debuffs have been dispelled. Health and mana have been restored. All stats increased by fifty percent. Sanity has dropped by ten percent." [Spirit Guide]
I reawoke spinning in the air with Zyrig having passed by. I could only assume that he literally blew straight through me.
("I seriously just died?!") [Solace]
I saw that my allies had made it to some nearby debris while Zyrig was quite literally killing me. In any case, he spun back around while I was helplessly stuck in the air.
"You still live?! Good! My rage can't be curbed by such an easy death!" [Zyrig]
He then sped towards me once again.
("Oh hell nah!") [Solace]
I casted |Roaming Undisturbed| to allow me to fly. I don't know why I forgot about that. Too bad it cost me a life.
("|Revolving Shell Arts|!") [Solace]
I prepared my stance. However, Zyrig zoomed past me before changing his hammer into a barbed arrowhead and sticking it into the biggest piece of debris near him.
("What is he...?") [Solace]
Confused as to what he was about to do, I knew the moment he encased the debris in his aura.
"You've gotta be kidding me..." [Solace]
That chunk of stone was bigger than an eight wheeler. Maybe it was because of the low gravity that he was able to carry it and swing it, but it was still surreal to see it.
"BE OBLITERATED!!!" [Zyrig]
The lungs on this guy. Anyway, he swung the entire thing at me.
"How am I supposed to deflect this?!" [Solace]
Spoiler warning, I didn't.
"Alert: |Blooming Undying| activation confirmed. All debuffs have been dispelled. Health and mana have been restored. All stats increased by fifty percent. Sanity has dropped by ten percent." [Spirit Guide]
I can only assume that I became a spot of blood on that rock before I revived. Well, that's what I thought until I saw he hit me hard enough with it that it exploded. After that, Zyrig made a U-turn to kill me again. Unfortunately for him, he was interrupted by a bolt of lightning to his side.
"Ugh!" [Zyrig]
I followed the trail to find that Leon was aiming her greatsword at him, electricity coiling around it.
("You're telling me she could've done that the whole time?!") [Solace]
That wasn't enough to do anything to Zyrig though. In fact, it looked like it just pissed him off more.
"Accursed flies!" [Zyrig]
He then switched targets from me to Leon.
"Not so fast!" [Solace]
I moved to intercept him. I tackled and drove him into a nearby floating debris, pummeling him while I still had the upper hand. The debris under him began to crumble under the shock of my punches, eventually caving in and giving enough space for Zyrig to fight back.
"DID YOU ENJOY IT?!" [Zyrig]
Sending his hand straight through my guard, he grabbed my face.
"Mff?!" [Solace]
"DID YOU ENJOY DESTROYING ALL THAT I LOVE?!" [Zyrig]
He exerted pressure, giving me the experience of having my head crushed. I started striking him wildly in an attempt to get him to release me, but his hatred and rage for me overcame it. Within seconds, I succumbed to Zyrig's strength.
"Alert: |Blooming Undying| activation confirmed. All debuffs have been dispelled. Health and mana have been restored. All stats increased by fifty percent. Sanity has dropped by ten percent." [Spirit Guide]
I awoke to see that Zyrig had left me alone, already flying straight to one of my allies.
"Leon! Look out!" [Wilharrow]
Leon jumped away from her platform, causing it to be crushed by Zyrig and leaving her spiraling in the air.
("I have to help her!") [Solace]
Though I could fly fast, it wasn't fast enough to catch up to Zyrig swerving to take her out.
"|Reha's Wrath|!" [Zyrig]
His aura shifted into an ominously disfigured spear. The spearhead was twisted, probably like how he was feeling.
"|Blazing Trail|!" [Wilharrow]
While Leon prepared to defend herself, Wilharrow leapt off his platform with a boom. If he had calculated it incorrectly, he'd have missed the timing and sped on by. However, Wilharrow managed to time it perfectly so that he'd appear before Zyrig before he could reach Leon.
"|Divine Weapon Resonance|!" [Wilharrow]
Wilharrow's sword shone brilliantly, clashing with Zyrig's dark aura.
"Ngh!" [Wilharrow]
In terms of power, Wilharrow would stand no chance. Good thing he wasn't aiming for that. With a rotation of his blade, and a push of all his might, Wilharrow successfully parried Zyrig.
"Lend me your strength, Vlight!" [Wilharrow]
His sword radiated blindingly. He slashed with such might that I could feel it from afar, causing it to crack Zyrig's armor.
"THAT'S FAR FROM ENOUGH, HERO!!!" [Zyrig]
Zyrig threw one punch. One punch that forced Wilharrow to block, which sent him crashing into Leon. He would've chased, but I arrived on time.
"|Explosion Arts|!" [Solace]
Without giving me so much as a glance, Zyrig caught my punch. The explosion passed through the gaps between his fingers, harmlessly dissipating in the air.
"I'll save you for later." [Zyrig]
With a yank, Zyrig pulled me back before throwing me aside.
("That bastard-!") [Solace]
As I tried to return quickly, I saw Fina firing spells at Zyrig like an Anti-Air gun.
"Raon, go support them!" [Fina]
"I've got it!" [Raon]
It wasn't just your average attack spells. They were mostly debuffs and curses meant to slow Zyrig down. So, the demon began to fly around the spells, sometimes hiding behind debris to avoid it. Matter of fact, he remained behind one and pushed towards Fina with it.
"Stop!" [Solace]
"Raon, go help Fina! Leon, hold up your sword!" [Wilharrow]
"Seriously?!" [Raon]
Leon propped up her greatsword so that Wilharrow could stand on it. With a boom, Wilharrow leapt once again. We all converged on Zyrig through our own methods. I flew and summoned |Thunderbolt Lance|, Wilharrow used |Blazing Trail|, and Raon threw one of his swords. The moment Zyrig was upon Fina, we were all there.
"|Holy Blade|!" [Wilharrow]
"|Cross Slash|!" [Raon]
"|Grygand|!" [Solace]
Zyrig caught my spear at the last moment, shattering his left gauntlet. He also blocked the other two with his other arm, also breaking the remaining gauntlet.
"YOU MEDDLESOME INTRUDERS!!!" [Zyrig]
Still keeping a hold of my spear, he ignored Wilharrow and Raon before attempting to strike Fina.
"S-Stop him!" [Solace]
"|Quasi-force Wall|!" [Fina]
Fina hastily took out a handful of mana stones and cast a multi-layered barrier between them. It looked sturdy alright, just not sturdy enough. Zyrig's fist dug straight through the barriers, crushing Fina's arms as she attempted to shield herself, and sent her through the debris she was standing on.
"NO!!!" [Solace]
"Warning: The |Summoner| |Finea Kane| is in |Critical| condition. |Bleeding| status is applied. It is highly recommended to heal |Finea Kane| within seven minutes." [Spirit Guide]
I felt my blood boil at the sight. I felt that I couldn't think straight, or play strategically. Therefore, I just threw myself at Zyrig.
"DIE!!!" [Solace]
Discarding my spear, I bashed his face with my fist. So much so that my strikes chunked and eventually ripped off his helmet.
"Alt! You need to coordinate with us!" [Wilharrow]
"SHUT UP! DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" [Solace]
Wilharrow and Raon ended up getting flung off as I latched onto Zyrig to continue punching him.
"DO YOU FEEL IT?!" [Zyrig]
Speaking through my strikes, Zyrig stared into my eyes.
"DO YOU FEEL THE LOSS?!" [Zyrig]
He then began to return the punches. From the amount of deaths I had, I was now durable enough to handle it.
"I'LL BE YOUR END!!!" [Solace]
"DO IT IF YOU CAN!!!" [Zyrig]
We drifted through the gravity deprived space, going blow for blow. Sometimes we'd bump into another chunk of debris, only from it to be blown apart by the force of our strikes. Blood coated our fists, some entered our vision, and some definitely entered our mouths. I could hear my heart beating and tasted my own disgust. I knew that I could probably save Fina by using |Small Cure|, but I was overtaken by this overwhelming anger.

"Raon, where's the potions!" [Wilharrow]
"I think they're in Fina's pouch!" [Raon]
"Where's her pouch?!" [Wilharrow]
They searched Fina's body, but it was nowhere to be found.
"It must've flown away from the impact!" [Raon]
"It's over there!" [Wilharrow]
Floating amongst a pile of shattered debris was her leather bag.
"I'll go get it!" [Raon]
Just as he was about to jump, Wilharrow grabbed Raon's arm.
"Wait, there's no platform there for you to jump back!" [Wilharrow]
"Then what do we do? Wait?! Fina's gonna die without those healing potions!" [Raon]
Just then, Leon jumped for it. Even when she herself was still suspended in the air, Leon used her clones to jump around. It was something that she should've thought of before, yet only realized it after having Wilharrow leap from her greatsword.
"Bag acquired." [Leon]
Grabbing the bag, she used another clone to get to Wilharrow and the others.
"Here." [Leon]
Handing over the bag, Wilharrow was shocked and frustrated by what he found inside.
"The potions..." [Wilharrow]
"They're all broken?!" [Raon]
Shaking his head, Wilharrow let out a frustrated groan.
"It's to be expected. A punch as devastating as that Feerae's is more than enough to destroy the contents." [Wilharrow]
"Wait wait wait, what about the herbs in there? There's herbs!" [Raon]
Wilharrow jumped back from frustration to hope.
"Hold on, with these I can synthesize a new health potion." [Wilharrow]
"Great! How long will that take?" [Raon]
"...Ten minutes." [Wilharrow]
They all glanced at Fina. Her breathing was soft, almost undetectable. Her arms broken, bone poking out of her skin due intense tearing. Maybe if they turned her around, they'd find injuries even worse.
"...She doesn't have that long." [Leon]
"...Yeah, we noticed." [Raon]
"Leon, Raon, do you know how to synthesize a potion?" [Wilharrow]
They both shook their heads.
"Shit. I could somewhat maintain Fina's state with |Divine| energy so it would've been great if one of you could've made the potion instead." [Wilharrow]
"|Divine| energy? What about my sword? One of them has it." [Raon]
"Can you control |Divine| energy?" [Wilharrow]
There was a pause.
"...Never tried it." [Raon]
"Now's the time. I'll make the potion, you sustain her. Figure it out." [Wilharrow]
Raon was stunned by the situation. However, he simply ended up scratching his head in frustration before attempting anything.
"Ah, fuck it! Here we go!" [Raon]
For someone like Raon who is born a noble, and Wilharrow a hero, they seldom cursed. Today is one of those rare days.
"Then I will go help Alt." [Leon]
"Don't." [Wilharrow]
"Why?" [Leon]
"He's... sorting things out. Just hope that he can buy us some time." [Wilharrow]

At some point, Zyrig and I had lost the use of our hands. Our knuckles were shattered, and we resorted to using our foreheads.
"BREAK ALREADY!!!" [Solace]
"I WILL COME OUT VICTORIOUS!!!" [Zyrig]
The only reason why we didn't drift away from each other was because I jammed my hand into one of the crevices of his armor.
"YOU THINK YOUR WILL IS GREATER THAN MINE?!" [Zyrig]
"I'LL DO THIS FOR ETERNITY IF I HAVE TO!!!" [Solace]
I was at a great disadvantage. Zyrig had horns, I didn't. So, I used a skill.
"|Reinforce|!" [Solace]
"YOU THINK THAT'S ENOUGH TO KEEP UP WITH ME?!" [Zyrig]
I wouldn't know since I was so full of adrenaline I couldn't feel the pain. From what I could see, Zyrig's forehead was now exposed bone. Thus, I could expect the same for myself.
("I can't win like this! I need something MORE!") [Solace]
I spat blood out into Zyrig's eye before opening my mouth wide and sinking my teeth into his throat. Although it was covered by a layer of chainmail, I had enough jaw strength to bend and break it.
"A-AAARGH!" [Zyrig]
He squirmed as metal bits cut into my gums. Even so, I just bit harder.
("I'll tear your throat out!") [Solace]
I pulled back, taking metal, skin, and flesh with me. My hand slipped out of the crack in Zyrig's armor, causing us to get loose, so I hooked onto him with my legs to get leverage. With enough ferocity, rage, and adrenaline, I turned my thoughts into reality. I tore his throat out.
("I... I've won...!") [Solace]
Zyrig went limp, and so did I. I released my grip on him and drifted back in the space where chunks of flesh, blood, and debris were afloat. As I wallowed in my victory, I stared at the spinning sky of weightlessness.
("...Wait, we're still in the |Spirit Field|?") [Solace]
My eyes immediately turned to Zyrig's body, which was beginning to piece itself back together.

("This is his first death! Feerae and Heroes can revive once a day!") [Solace]
I had completely forgotten about that. Once he had fully regenerated, Zyrig stared at his own hands in shock.
"I... I died? Me? To some... human? To the one who killed my lord?" [Zyrig]
A dark aura, a bit purple in nature, began to swirl around him.
("He's still getting stronger...?") [Solace]
The aura filled in the cracks and damage accumulated on his armor, giving it a somewhat luminescent glow.
"I can't forgive this..." [Zyrig]
The moment we made eye contact, I thought he'd kill me. Instead, he turned to my allies.
"..." [Zyrig]
That look in his eye. I can still remember it like it was yesterday. Zyrig's rage was so great that at this point he managed to control it. That made it all the more dangerous. Just from that, he suddenly became capable of collected judgement.
("No...") [Solace]
Injured and fatigued, I felt horror when I realized his intentions. He was going to kill my friends while I was helpless.
