Reborn Heiress: Seeking Revenge-Chapter 621: Meeting Gift (4)_1
"Why? Why are you doing this to me?"
"I don’t want to answer that question again. You’d better ask your grandson; he knows the reason. Take Shen Cheng to the entrance of the police station. And Shen Po? Let him stay and help Leader Zhuge Ao recuperate properly," Shangguan You said coldly, glanced at the sky, and then her figure flashed and vanished from the spot.
Shen Cheng collapsed on the ground, watching Shangguan You’s eerie, departing figure. His vision went black, and he fainted. The thought of returning to that lightless prison cell filled his heart with raw despair. Compounded by the crime of being a fugitive, he didn’t need to imagine how unlivable his days there would be. Moreover, Shen Po could no longer help him. At this realization, how could he possibly remain standing?
When Shangguan You hurried back to the school, the entire campus was silent; even the cleaners had long since gone. Seeing that arrogant black sports car in the parking lot, Shangguan You’s figure flashed and slipped inside.
"Where have you been?" A cold voice sounded in her ear. He had waited a full four hours. If he didn’t inherently enjoy such quiet, he would have just taken off long ago.
"I went to take care of some things." Shangguan You leaned back lazily and gently closed her eyes. She’d done so much; she was truly tired.
"Where to?" Ye Er Shao swept a cold gaze over Shangguan You. He caught a faint scent of seawater from her. Had she been to the seaside?
"To the Li Family first," Shangguan You said indifferently.
"Why the Li Family?" Ye Er Shao asked, already revving the engine and heading towards the Li Family’s villa. Tonight, Ye Er Shao had once again witnessed Shangguan You’s connections. After she left, he, the dignified Second Young Master Ye, had actually been besieged. They were each more troublesome than the last. If not for their good relationship with Shangguan You, Ye Er Shao would certainly have cleared off.
Those people were truly annoying. In the end, with no other option, Ye Er Shao had to resort to a little trick to get them all to go home and sleep. Only then did his ears finally get some peace. But he had ended up waiting here for four whole hours. Four hours was enough time to do many things.
"I went to watch a good show," Shangguan You said mysteriously, then closed her eyes again, no longer speaking. She needed to rest now. After going to so many places in one night, she was truly exhausted.
The Li Family’s villa was engulfed in darkness; everyone inside was asleep. "You wait here for me; I’ll be right down," Shangguan You said, her figure flashing past Ye Er Shao. He furrowed his brows. Couldn’t Shangguan You tell him what she was going to do before she did it?
In the blink of an eye, Shangguan You reappeared, holding two shadowy figures. With a THUD, she stuffed them into the car. She clapped her hands and sat down beside Ye Er Shao.
"What are you going to do?" Ye Er Shao’s brows knitted further as he glanced at the two women in the backseat, his frown so deep it could have trapped a fly.
"They’ll be useful, naturally. I’ve decided to give a generous gift to someone." Shangguan You’s lips curved up, a glint of coldness flashed in her eyes before quickly vanishing.
"What are you planning to do?"
"You’ll know when we get there. Why ask so much? However, I think it’s best if you don’t get personally involved in this. Let’s go. To XX Road, XX Number, the Shen Family’s villa," Shangguan You said lightly.
"Why?" Ye Er Shao floored the accelerator, and the car took a sharp turn, heading toward the place she had mentioned.
"I’m doing this for your own good. Consider it repayment for that pitiful bit of Spiritual Energy you gave me while I was unconscious," Shangguan You said faintly. She had the Ye Family’s Spiritual Energy within her, so she naturally knew Ye Er Shao had come over; he had even helped her regulate the Spiritual Energy in her body. Although the effect wasn’t significant, she accepted this favor from Ye Er Shao.
"However, if you insist on going, I have nothing more to say." Shangguan You waved her hand, relinquishing the decision to Ye Er Shao. Actually, deep down, she still hoped Ye Er Shao would go and see for himself, so he wouldn’t just be an iceberg, ignorant of everything else.
"HMPH." Ye Er Shao snorted coldly, shooting Shangguan You a frosty look. She brought him here wanting him to see, didn’t she? Yet now she says this. Isn’t she doing it on purpose?
White snowflakes drifted down from the sky, adding a touch of beauty to the dark night. The black car took an abrupt turn and came to a steady stop in front of the Shen Family’s villa.
"Let’s go," Shangguan You said, opening the car door and stepping out. Looking at the desolate villa before her, her gaze became unfocused for a moment. The entire Shen Mansion was currently in darkness. Although this was her property now, she had never lived here for even a day. She truly hadn’t expected that at the new year, a new beginning, she would return here once more.
"Bring the two from the car down as well. Without them, the good show later won’t be watchable," Shangguan You said. The biting wind around her suddenly vanished. Looking at Ye Er Shao beside her, she shook her head, clearing her mind of various thoughts, and then spoke to him quietly.
"This place looks perfectly normal. Why come here?" Ye Er Shao observed the darkened rooms. It was a mansion, alright, but there was nothing special about it. If there was anything special, it was that no one lived here.
"This is another home of mine, though I’ve never lived here for a day. Take them both to a room upstairs," Shangguan You instructed while pushing the door open and stepping inside.
The place was still exactly as it had been. As for the parts later changed by Shen Cheng and the others, she had restored them completely, buying identical furniture to what her grandfather had when he was alive, even replicating the interior layout exactly. The moment the lights flickered on, Ye Er Shao’s eyes narrowed. Carrying a figure in each hand, he went upstairs, tossed them into a room, and shut the door with a BANG.
When he came downstairs again, he looked at the figure below, who seemed lost in reminiscence. "I never expected you to be so nostalgic, arranging this place in such an old-fashioned, classical style."
"I don’t like this style either, but Grandfather did. He liked collecting antiques, and I just wanted to keep a trace of Grandfather here," Shangguan You’s voice was very low. If Ye Er Shao’s hearing weren’t so exceptional, he wouldn’t have been able to discern what Shangguan You was saying at all. However, Shangguan You’s words puzzled Ye Er Shao once more. Shangguan Zhi never liked collecting antiques; he was a military man.
