Chapter 99: Start again

Amelia walked to the market area before the University time was over so she wouldn’t have to explain later why she asked Uncle Harrison to pick her up from the market.

She walked to the familiar forests and saw the familiar man walking towards her.

Lost in her thoughts, she smiled vaguely.

It was weird how time changed.

Just a few days ago, she could see the lost hope and sparkle in the man’s eyes, and now, the man who wanted to die in shame was walking to her proudly.

"Miss Ever," Kael bowed to Amelia, and the girl smiled before nodding.

"How is the treatment going? Is the physiotherapy making it better? Are you in pain? I can recommend some new medicines," she said.

Kael shook his head. His eyes brimmed with tears as he looked at the girl who changed his life completely by curing one disease that became the bane of his existence.

Now he was constantly struggling and striving to get better so he could save his daughter from that brothel.

Even though he wasn’t paralyzed anymore, he still needed to gain enough strength to be able to fight those people.

"I am getting better. All thanks to you," He said.

Amelia nodded.

"So what’s next? What plans do you have to save your daughter from that brothel?" Amelia asked.

Kael raised his brows.

It was already enough that she helped him and didn’t take any money in return, but now she was willing to help him with that too?

As much as the thought brought him joy, he shook his head.

The girl before him was barely a teenager, and he didn’t want to risk her life in such a gruesome place.

If he failed, he would die trying, but if she were involved, they would take her and make her one of those girls.

That was the last thing he would wish upon his enemy, let alone the girl who saved him.

"I will get stronger and try to gather some people. There must be some people, the other family members, working there. The more numbers we have, the better chance we have to free our people," Kael said.

Amelia nodded.

It made sense.

"I will finance it. Start buying the weapons, the best you can. Let’s blow up that place," Amelia said with a distant look, the memories of what she suffered there surfacing.

Kael stood there, shocked for some time.

He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. The girl before him barely looked like a teenager. Then why did she hold so much hatred for that brothel? Did she have any personal vendetta?

"Pardon my intrusion of thoughts, but why are you so hateful towards them? Do you have someone close who was taken away from you?" Kael asked.

That way, he would understand the severity of the matter and give it his all. Saving his daughter was his priority, but if someone close to Miss Ever were in that brothel, he would try to save that woman, too.

Amelia smiled vaguely at his words.

Did she have someone close to her there? No. She didn’t.

She wanted to avenge the things she had suffered there, and she was ready to do anything this time.

Every person who hurt her would pay for their ugly character in this life, be it anyone.

"I just hate people like those," Amelia said.

"Honestly, I want you to start recruiting people I could call mine, who would fight for me and seek justice. Some people have wronged me, taken from me without any remorse, and I want to stand tall and make them pay now," she said, her eyes turning sad.

Kael understood the girl now.

She was just another broken soul in this world who was betrayed by her close ones, just like his friends betrayed him in the time of need, and no one stood by his side to help him take his revenge from those people who killed his wife and took away his daughter.

"Don’t worry, Miss Ever. I will help you with that revenge," Kael said.

Amelia nodded before she pulled out the note that the guard at the University had given her.

"Can you look into this, man? This man approached me today and claimed he had something important. However, after all this time falling into traps, I don’t want to take any chances," Amelia said.

Kael gave her a positive reply to that.

"Also, I have a personal request," Amelia whispered, unsure if the man would accept it.

Kael nodded eagerly. He wanted to help the girl who saved him in any way he could.

"Since you were a part of the most brutal royal team working directly under Sebastian, I am sure you have better skills than any other guard there. Can you train me to become stronger?" Amelia asked.

Kael didn’t say anything for some time. He wanted to tell her that if it came to that, he would lay down his life for her, but as a soldier, he knew how important it was to learn self-defence for a person.

Besides, this girl was such a good Samaritan that it wouldn’t be surprising if she made some enemies this way.

It was good that she wanted to learn self-defence.

"I will teach you. Let me know when you want to get started," Kael said.

Amelia smiled gratefully at him.

They talked over a few things for some more time before Amelia bid goodbye to the man.

Once Kael left, she learned from Marcos that he was in the market with everything she had asked for, and the place was arranged under his name.

Amelia followed Marcos’s instructions and reached the small, rundown warehouse-type area they rented for a cheaper price.

At the moment, she didn’t want to spend too much money on irrelevant things.

She was short on the money she had collected over these years, and she needed to start her business all over again to flourish and create an army of people who would be ready to die for her.

With a sigh, she looked at everything and opened her old laptop on the table.

"You are here, Miss." Marcos walked inside the warehouse with her favourite drink, and Amelia chuckled at him.

He still treated her the best.

"I am here," Amelia said, raising a ray of hope in Marcos’s eyes.

Why?

Because after all these years, he didn’t stay as her personal driver appointed to follow her after her mother’s death. He turned into her personal errand man who would go around dealing with the business, taking orders, and delivering them, and Amelia used to pay him handsomely for that.

Only after they suspected getting caught by Thames because he suddenly got over-interested in their matters did she have to stop for a couple of years.

Amelia sat behind the computer and logged into the ID that she had kept dormant for an entire year. She believed Hannah’s lies and used up all her time persuading Killian.

A mistake she would never forget.
