Chapter 108: Getting stronger

"You are doing much better. If you keep forcing yourself, then the chances are your body might snap at you, and you suffer from the aftermath of it. I know you are eager to become stronger faster and –" Kael stopped, his pupils dilating.

He looked at his friend, Sky, who looked at him and gulped.

They placed an 80-lb wooden log before Amelia and asked her to lift it on her shoulders if she wanted them to go harder with the training.

They thought the girl would never be able to do it because they never did any weightlifting training with her. But who would’ve thought that she would lift the log like it was nothing?

It has been fifteen days since they started training the session with Amelia, and to say they have never seen anyone progressing with such passion and speed would be an understatement.

She was jumping and progressing with leaps and bounds.

It was like she turned from a rookie to a master level within fifteen days.

They didn’t know what kind of things she was eating or doing because for her to not feel the kind of fatigue and come another day with the same zeal and much stronger will was something Kael never saw in his training days.

Most teenagers would cry in pain for two months at least just by simple stretching... but she...

"So? Are you going to train me now?" Amelia asked, blinking her eyes innocently.

Many things changed after that I vident in the laboratory. She realised that her body was becoming immune to a lot of things.

Her resilience was increasing, her strength was increasing like it has never before. Her mark still glowed from time to time whenever she would need that burst of energy and rather than taking it negatively, she has started to look at it positively and a gift from the moon goddess for her ruined last life.

Kyle had been doing everything and anything to get her attention and it won’t be wrong to say that he has started to turn more mischievous.

Just last night, he nearly entered the royal palace to tease her. Amelia was so horrified that he would actually do that, she couldn’t sleep at night.

Later at midnight he messaged her that he got work to do and would leave. It was only after that she could sleep.

Cyrus was busy dealing with internal affairs and preparing for the physical duel in 15 days.

Seeing him work so hard only pushed her to become stronger, so she would be mentally and physically ready for the queen trials, too. She didn’t want to lose him to anything.

Kael sighed and looked at Sky, who thinned his lips.

"Wear these gloves and punch this log until it breaks," Sky said.

Amelia furrowed her brows.

Why did it look like he was trying to brush her off? She was about to voice out her thoughts when he spoke again.

"This will harden your fists and strengthen your punches. Try to be as fast as you can, rather than strong. The people before you would definitely be trained, and though you are improving, the chances are you might not beat them at strength. Besides, they’ll be supernatural. You need to beat them at speed, too," Sky said.

Amelia finally understood his words and made the wooden log stand firmly against the tree.

She took a deep breath and put the gloves on her hands.

Once done, she focused on the wooden log and started punching it.

Kael looked at the girl who was training like there was no tomorrow, and didn’t know why he felt like this girl was definitely not normal.

She was too kind, powerful, or wishful, and took it too softly.

She even funded their army and weapons. Why would a person do that for him? No matter how hard he tried to find a flaw in her, there weren’t any.

Apart from the training, she didn’t ask him for anything else.

So far, they have been able to gather 200 people under their team. Now that he has thought about it, it is amazing how many people are suffering because of those brothels.

Those areas should technically be banned. But they were one of the biggest revenue generators, and thus, even the authorities never said anything about it.

Besides, it wasn’t like everyone hated it. Even though everyone knew their ugly truth, people still went there in bulk, and most of them were soldiers, treating those women as relief tools.

Everything about that culture was antagonizing, but after the death of their former King, the area became part of Bentley’s estate, and everyone knew the money was needed for the betterment of the Kingdom.

After all, they didn’t just provide that kind of relief to werewolves only.

Kael sighed and massaged his forehead, focusing on the girl, wincing on behalf of her when he saw blood oozing from her hands.

It hurt like hell. Amelia hoped to break it in just a few punches, thus aiming to be stronger.

She winced in pain after some punches, grabbing her hands close to her chest when she saw the blood.

The look on Kael and Sky’s faces made her embarrassed.

They had exactly warned her against it.

"I’ll try again," Amelia said more to herself than to them. She was about to start her punching session again when they suddenly heard the sound of a crash somewhere near, which was soon followed by a scream.

"You heard that?" Amelia asked.

Kael and Sky looked at her with intrigue, unsure what she was talking about.

"Heard what, Miss Ever?" Kael walked to her.

Amelia shook her head.

"I felt like some kind of accident happened somewhere near. Or is it just me?" She asked.

She tilted her head and was about to punch again when she heard the pleading scream again.

"You heard that?" Amelia asked Kael again, but when they still had the blank expression, she couldn’t help it.

She wanted to ignore it, but the scream of pleading was echoing in her head.

"Something is wrong. I need to check it," Amelia said, urging Kael to take her to where she heard the scream on his bike.

Kael told her that it was nothing, but when he saw the girl growing restless, Sky said it was better to show her.

"I am not opposing that, but that direction leads to the Dark Hue forest. We all know that. What if—" He paused.

"I want to go," Amelia said.

Kael looked at her and then sighed.

"I’ll accompany you too," Sky said.

The trio then sat on two bikes and left for the forests, the scene before them leaving them speechless when they reached there.
