Chapter 545: 529 take you to meet Ye Jiang

Zhao Chun could tell that there was something hidden behind Ye Binyi’s aggressive demeanor, so he couldn’t let her take Meng Shuyan away. He simply suggested meeting Tian Sangsang—there was no better plan for now.

Ye Binyi was pondering along the way how she might broach the subject of custody with Tian Sangsang.

Meng Shuyan, sandwiched between the two adults, felt utterly bewildered.

The three of them each harbored their own thoughts, and before they knew it, they had arrived at Yipin Xiang Restaurant.

"Mr. Zhao," Jin Zhi greeted politely, though her curiosity was evident.

Zhao Chun asked, "Is Sangsang in the private room?"

"She’s upstairs," Jin Zhi said perceptively. "I’ll go get the boss; you all can sit down first."

Tian Sangsang slowly descended the staircase; she had been working on a new dish earlier.

"Who did you say is looking for me?"

Jin Zhi responded, "A noble-looking lady with a rather cold expression."

Tian Sangsang felt a tinge of unease in her heart and pulled back the curtain. She froze momentarily.

"Zhao Chun, take Yanyan outside, please," Tian Sangsang said calmly, casting him a glance.

Zhao Chun understood and picked up Meng Shuyan.

"Where are you taking Yanyan?!" Ye Binyi’s face turned pale, her emotions spiraling out of control.

It was almost as if they were hauling her grandson off to a death sentence.

Tian Sangsang’s face darkened, and she didn’t call out to her but instead said, "This is an issue between adults. It has nothing to do with Yanyan."

Ye Binyi suppressed her anger, curling her lips in mockery.

As she considered the upcoming conversation, she reluctantly watched her grandson being carried away, unable to let go.

She had already lost her son—she couldn’t bear to lose Yanyan too.

"Tian Sangsang." Ye Binyi glared distastefully at her refined face and bluntly said, "I’m here today to take Yanyan back. He’s a Jiang Family child."

"Either all of you come home with me today, or Yanyan comes with me."

Goddamned Ye Binyi! Tian Sangsang hated nothing more in this life than Ye Binyi’s superior attitude. Not only was it identical to Hua Jun’s, but she was also obnoxiously confident about taking her precious son!

Why? Where did she get such audacity?

Tian Sangsang chuckled coldly. "You’re being ridiculously presumptuous."

"This matter should be decided by Yanyan. If he chooses the Jiang Family, I won’t stop him."

Ye Binyi more or less knew it was impossible but refused to admit it, her breath uneven.

"Don’t forget, the child isn’t yours alone. Jinghuai has a claim to him too." She took a few ragged breaths. "How about this: one for each of us. Yanyan stays with me, and the one in your belly stays with you."

Tian Sangsang rubbed her temples wearily. "I feel like I’ve made this clear multiple times: both children are mine."

"Your family can visit, but you have no right to claim them as your own," she said emphatically, decisively.

"This child wouldn’t even exist without my son. Would you have conceived him without him?" Ye Binyi snapped angrily. "Before, I let things slide for Jinghuai’s sake. Now that he’s gone, don’t even think about monopolizing our family’s children. If you don’t agree, we’ll meet in court. For divorces, military marriage law favors my son. By then, you won’t get a single child."

Tian Sangsang felt a chill spread through her heart, her lips tightly pursed.

Ye Binyi assumed her silence was fear. "I never acknowledged you as my daughter-in-law. I’ve always been prejudiced against you, and now, putting aside my prejudice, I still can’t like you."

Not being liked was no big deal, though it stung a little. Tian Sangsang said mockingly, "I’m not cash. Can’t expect everyone to like me."

"This isn’t about cash. Don’t act aggrieved. Women like you who are deceitful and unfaithful—pretending to be virtuous while being the most depraved—my son must have been blind to fall for your tricks."

This baseless slander couldn’t get any worse! What shamelessness! Tian Sangsang’s fury erupted. "Please watch your words."

Ye Binyi smiled confidently. "Oh? Things you’ve done can’t be mentioned now? You and Zhao Chun, sneaking around, secretly entangled. You know what you’ve done! Don’t blame me for exposing you, Tian Sangsang."

"I respect you as a teacher, but it turns out you’re just a mad dog who bites recklessly," Tian Sangsang shot back, no longer bothering to argue. "I have work to do, take your time drinking tea."

Ye Binyi followed her outside. Spotting Zhao Chun and Meng Shuyan standing by the door, she quickly grabbed Meng Shuyan. Startled, Meng Shuyan struggled uneasily in her arms.

She had resorted to shamelessly snatching the child.

"Yanyan must come with me today! Jinghuai is no longer..."

"Mom!" Tian Sangsang’s voice erupted from deep within her chest.

It had been ages since she last called her "Mom." Ye Binyi froze, as did everyone nearby, startled by her outburst. Tian Sangsang looked like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.

She steadied herself and said, "Yanyan is still young, and I haven’t told him. As an elder, I ask you to seriously consider this." The implication was clear.

Ye Binyi stiffened, suddenly snapping back to reality. She complicatedly glanced at Tian Sangsang. Yanyan didn’t know? In that instant, the answer dawned on her.

For the first time, she found herself grateful to Tian Sangsang.

Holding her grandson tightly, she finally relented. "I’ll stay for one night."

Tian Sangsang replied, "I hope you’ll honor your words."

Ye Binyi let out a cold snort and turned to leave.

"Goodbye, Mom. Goodbye, Chun Zisu," Meng Shuyan waved his little hand.

Tian Sangsang watched him leave, her heart full of reluctant longing.

Hua Family.

When Hua Jun returned from work and saw Hua Zifeng lounging on the sofa, she walked past him coldly.

"Sis, it’s been ages since I’ve been back, and you won’t even spare me a glance?"

Hua Jun snapped, "Don’t bother me! Get lost!"

"Wow, someone’s eaten explosives, like a bomb ready to blow. I heard Jiang Jinghuai died. Honestly, I’m surprised you didn’t follow him to the grave."

Hua Jun swung her purse, throwing it directly at him. "I told you to shut up! Why couldn’t it have been you, you degenerate bastard!"

Hua Zifeng dodged awkwardly, clearly enjoying her indignation. Casually, he said, "This time, I brought back a gift for you from out of town!"

"Who cares?"

"Oh, you’ll care—trust me," Hua Zifeng said with amusement, picking at his ear. "Remember what I told you before?" 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Hua Jun strode toward the staircase. "You’ll never say anything decent!"

Hua Zifeng didn’t even turn around and instead raised his voice. "I said fate’s always turning. This time, it’s turned to you. The gift I brought? Jiang Jinghuai!"

Hua Jun spun around sharply. "What did you just say?"

Hua Zifeng tilted his head with a smirk. "Why don’t you go see for yourself?"

Despite herself, Hua Jun followed Hua Zifeng, her skepticism of him aside. They arrived at a hospital. Walking through its icy corridors, she stopped before the door to the room at the farthest end. Her heart thudded inexplicably.

She felt like a puppet.

Hua Zifeng knocked on the door. "Ye Jiang."

Ye Jiang? The name sounded familiar.

Hua Jun’s brows furrowed ever so slightly.
