A few years back, before Sylus started saving up his Karma points, he had used them to purchase a few weapons from the shop.

Three, to be exact.

The first was a bronze sword, which cost him about 35 Karma points.

A few months passed from that, and he realized the points needed were now fixed at 50, and his limit on Karma points he could hold had increased from 50 to 70.

Knowing there were only so many good things he could do, he had to change his tactics and plan how he would use his Karma points.

Soon after, he pulled for two main weapons:

The Cloak of Yrmi and the Dagger of Stars.

’Not that I need more anyway; this is enough to beat my brother.’

By now, Lucas should have made it to the heart of the forest and found the sword.

That was nothing to be worried about, since Sylus was sure Lucas would wait for him.

While Lucas wanted to win, battling Sylus to prove he was the strongest was still his top priority.

A way to get big Papa’s praises.

Erica, on the other hand, was a different case.

If she wins this second trial, she will most likely be crowned to sit on the throne just as Sylus and Lucas would.

The Astrodial family is not exactly the kind to reason with emotions; as stated before, results were all they cared about.

Still, it was very unlikely that Martins would be happy having a woman succeed him to the throne.

Sylus was sure Erica knew this as well, and if he were correct, her plan wouldn’t be to take the sword.

Rather, she would be picking a side to support—whichever brother she feels should win.

Chances are, she would go with Lucas.

Of course, Sylus couldn’t blame her for picking Lucas. They are biological siblings, unlike him.

It was probably why he never felt any true connection with them to begin with.

This family was not something Sylus held in high regard.

Sylus sighed.

’At the end of the day, winning is all that matters. Nothing else.’

His true reason lies after he has gotten his territory.

From behind him, the leaves began to rustle.

And then out walked Zani, her hair dripping with water.

"I’m done, my lord."

Sylus looked at her.

"Took you long enough. I was starting to think you drowned or something."

Zani rubbed her hair for a while as she glanced to the side, her face a bit flushed.

With a small smile, Sylus stood up from the ground.

"Well, we should get going. I’m sure dear big brother is waiting for me. I wouldn’t want to delay him all that much."

Zani held a serious expression.

"My lord, I have a question."

Sylus paused, turning around to look at her.

"I understand that the time will come when I will have to cross blades with the other Mystoers. I ask, am I permitted to use my Blazer?"

Sylus made a ring shape with his lips.

’Ohh? Modesty.’

He stood upright. "You think you can’t handle them without using your Blazer?"

Zani felt hesitant to reply.

"I cannot predict how the battle will end up. I don’t want to take my chances."

Sylus couldn’t blame her for thinking this way, especially after learning who Lucas’s Mystero was.

His name was Terrance Galina.

The first son of the commander of the White Lotus—a military faction that focused on exterminating monsters threatening to destroy the kingdom.

From what Sylus knew, Terrance had not gotten a title, so Zani should have him beat in that regard.

That said, he does already have his Blazer awakened, just like Zani.

Which already makes him a bigger threat than if he did have a title.

Mainly because titles give aspects that need to be owned and studied in order to be used to their full potential. This could take several years.

While Blazer is a manifestation of one’s star blessing, the limitation of its power is based only on the quality of the user’s soul. It doesn’t need any sort of approach.

For example, Zani awakened her Blazer a few years back, and it turned out to be a single magic ring-shaped material that hovers around her forehead. It offered her abilities such as thorn manipulation and sub-energy manipulation as well.

After much study, Zani realized the chances of another star popping out around her head were there; the only issue was finding the trigger.

With her aspect [One That Watches]—which grants her an unprecedented boost in all physical stats, including immunity to spiritual and mental attacks—it was safe to assume she would have the upper hand if they battled.

This is without her star blessing coming in the way.

Sylus sighed, one hand in his pocket.

"Revealing your strongest card to your enemy is not the wisest move. Unless your opponent reveals their Blazer, only then are you allowed to do the same."

It was exactly what she wanted to hear.

"I understand."

Sylus smiled at her, about to say something, when he sensed another figure heading towards his location.

Someone familiar, unfortunately.

’Looks like she picked her side.’

Sylus thought to himself, as he veered around, to see Erica seated on the rock and waving her hand.

Beside her was Gilgath, wearing a metal glove, his eyes fixed on Zani.

With a cold tone, Sylus uttered,

"There you are– sister."
