Reborn as the General's Useless Daughter-Chapter 298: Encounter with the Imperial Princes
Above the door hung a grand golden signboard, upon which the characters "Leafway" were written in bold, flowing strokes. The name alone carried an imposing confidence, befitting the number one restaurant of the Leon Empire.
As soon as Zora and the others stepped inside, a waiter greeted them with a bright smile. "Honored guests, the private rooms on the second floor are currently full. Would you mind dining in the main hall?"
Everyone nodded without hesitation. The lobby was lively, and people often discussed the hottest news over meals. Since they were new to the Tempest City, it might even be useful to overhear a thing or two.
Under the waiter’s guidance, they were seated near the center of the lobby. The restaurant’s business was booming. Even though they had deliberately avoided peak dining hours, the Leafway Restaurant was still packed with guests.
"Several honored guests," the waiter said cheerfully, noticing their unfamiliar expressions, "it seems this is your first time at our restaurant. Would you like me to recommend a few of our signature dishes?"
His enthusiasm was natural rather than forced, immediately putting everyone at ease.
"Then we’ll trouble you," Zora replied with a smile. "Please serve a few of your specialties. There are eight of us, so just arrange accordingly."
"Of course!" the waiter nodded quickly. "Please wait a moment. The dishes and wine will be served shortly."
After he left, Tiffany chuckled. "I don’t know how good the food will be yet, but that waiter alone is impressive. Sharp-eyed and very personable."
Zora nodded in agreement. "The owner of this restaurant must have put a lot of effort into training the staff."
"I noticed that too," Raphael added, glancing around. "The decor is elegant without being vulgar. Luxurious, but restrained. It’s very different from the restaurants we’ve seen before."
As they quietly admired their surroundings, none of them noticed that, from an elegant private room on the second floor, a pair of curious eyes had already locked onto them. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"Second Brother, look!" a Seventeen-year-old youth whispered excitedly, leaning over the railing. His face was brimming with mischief as his gaze fixed on Zora’s table. "There are two absolute beauties down there!"
Across from him sat a nineteen-year-old man in a green robe. His handsome features carried an air of boredom, and he barely lifted his eyes. "Third Brother, beauties in the Tempest City are nothing rare. How could there be anything truly outstanding?"
The younger boy grinned wider, clearly unconvinced, his eyes still glued to the scene below.
Dravenor’s face was practically glowing with excitement. He tugged at his companion’s sleeve and whispered urgently, "Second Brother, I’m not exaggerating. You’ll know once you take a look!"
Seeing him so earnest, Ragnor finally leaned forward and glanced down toward the lobby on the first floor. The moment his gaze landed on the table below, his expression froze.
"When did the Imperial City gain women like this?" he muttered, unable to hide his astonishment. "And I didn’t hear even a hint of news about them."
A glimmer of fascination rose in his eyes. The beauty of this level was rare even in the Tempest City, where talented men and exquisite women gathered like clouds. Such a sight stirred desire almost instinctively.
Dravenor was clearly enjoying his brother’s reaction. "Second Brother, look at the woman in the bluish-pink-colored dress. She’s gentle and graceful, soft like flowing water. That kind of tenderness is simply irresistible. Truly top-tier!"
His words carried genuine admiration. A woman who could be both delicate and captivating to such a degree was someone he had only seen for the first time in his life.
Ragnor listened, but his eyes never left the woman in white. Compared to the other two, she was the one who truly stole his attention.
Her beauty was not merely skin-deep. It was her temperament that set her apart. Calm, elegant, and poised, every faint smile seemed to carry a quiet confidence that reached straight into his heart.
"This one in white is even more moving," Ragnor said slowly, rubbing his chin as excitement flickered in his eyes. "I haven’t felt this interested in a long time."
Hearing this, Dravenor broke into a grin. "Then it seems Second Brother and I are thinking the same thing."
"In that case," he added eagerly, "shall we go down and make their acquaintance?"
Ragnor nodded without hesitation. "Good."
Meanwhile, downstairs, the wine and dishes finally arrived at Zora’s table. The aroma alone was enough to make one’s appetite surge.
"Just look at this color and fragrance," Reesa laughed, lifting her chopsticks. "I don’t know about the taste yet, but I’m already tempted. I’ll try first!"
Everyone followed suit. After the first bite, sighs of satisfaction rippled around the table. As expected of the Leafway Restaurant, the flavor truly lived up to its reputation.
"This really is excellent," Baldwin said with a smile. "Even the wine of the Tempest City is on another level."
As they ate, bits of conversation from nearby tables drifted over.
"I heard that today, one of the three great academies was deliberately humiliated at the entrance of Thunderclap Academy. In the end, their entire team just left. Have you heard about this?"
"They left? I didn’t hear that. If they really left, how will the academy exchange continue? Thunderclap Academy’s actions this time are a bit too much."
The speaker shook his head in confusion. Thunderclap Academy had always held an exalted status in their hearts, but this move felt unnecessarily domineering.
"I’m not sure either," another person chimed in. "But that academy has lost two exchanges in a row. Being ridiculed is normal. Thunderclap Academy’s strength is still number one."
Hearing this, Baldwin’s expression darkened slightly. "What Thunderclap Academy did today was truly wrong."
He had once wanted to see for himself how powerful Thunderclap Academy really was. Now, that interest had completely vanished.
In the past, he respected Thunderclap Academy’s achievements and even felt a trace of admiration. After all, they had produced many outstanding Spirit Warriors over the years.
But after witnessing their conduct today, that respect had faded. Strength alone was not enough. With such a temperament, Thunderclap Academy was already beginning to lose its former dignity.
"Thunderclap Academy has been attached to the Leon Empire’s royal family for many years. It’s only natural that it’s been tainted by the habits of those in high positions." Alaric Von Seraph spoke slowly, a trace of disdain flickering through his eyes.
A truly talented person should be upright and broad-minded. Strength paired with a narrow heart was nothing more than villainy. Such an academy, no matter how strong, was not worthy of admiration.
As everyone continued eating, the lively chatter around them rose and fell like waves. All kinds of rumors and gossip drifted into their ears, but most of it had little to do with them, and they listened only casually.
At that moment, Ragnor and Dravenor walked down from the second floor.
Both men held their heads high, their bearing confident and relaxed. Ragnor carried a folding fan in his hand, his movements elegant and unhurried, exuding the refined air of nobility.
"Isn’t that the Second Prince, Ragnor Blackstar, and the Third Prince, Dravenor Blackstar?"
"The Leafway’s wine is famous throughout the capital. I heard the royal family once tried to recruit the chef into the palace, but for some reason, it didn’t work out. That’s why even the princes often come here to dine."
"Those two come here all the time. But why would they suddenly come down to the lobby instead of staying in a private room?"
The surrounding diners whispered among themselves, curiosity clear in their voices. If princes of such status appeared in the lobby, the people they were approaching could not possibly be ordinary.
Ragnor and Dravenor wore faint, confident smiles. As the imperial princes, they were accustomed to being the center of attention wherever they went. The gazes and murmurs around them only made their steps more assured.
Hearing the commotion, Zora and the others also looked up.
It wasn’t because of their noble status, but because Ragnor and Dravenor were Spirit Warriors from Thunderclap Academy. Their strength was outstanding, and there was a high chance they would become opponents in the academy exchange.
After a brief glance, Zora and her group withdrew their gazes and continued eating. For now, this was nothing more than a preliminary observation. As for the exchange competition, Thunderclap Academy would never dare to truly boycott them. The academy’s headmaster would not be willing to bear that consequence.
However, just as they turned away, Ragnor and Dravenor stopped right beside their table.
Zora and the others exchanged subtle looks. For a moment, they wondered if their identities had already been discovered.
But Ragnor’s next words made it clear that they had overthought it.
"Young ladies, you look quite unfamiliar," Ragnor said with a gentle smile, his tone warm and courteous. "I presume you’re not from our Leon Empire?"
His expression was polite, even refined, like that of a gracious nobleman. Yet his gaze fell solely on Zora and the other women at the table. As for Alaric Von Seraph and the other men, it was as though they didn’t exist at all.
The meaning behind this behavior was obvious to everyone present.
This was not true courtesy. This was condescension.
"We’re not. And what of it?" Reesa replied coldly, her eyes sharp. Ragnor’s attitude was enough to make anyone uncomfortable.
Alaric Von Seraph and the other men exchanged glances in silence. It was clear now.
This Second Prince’s target was never them. From the very beginning, his attention had been fixed on Zora and Sylvandria.
Thinking this far, even Alaric Von Seraph and the others felt a touch of helpless amusement.
