Reborn As Noble-Chapter 1156: Armand Family Council ( )
Liana smiled and explained softly, "Mating is something private, something you only ask about in a quiet, intimate moment. It’s between you and Husband alone, not for everyone to hear."
"Oh." Mimi placed a finger on her chin thoughtfully. "So I can’t just go and say it out loud?"
Liana smiled. "You can, but only to him, and not where others can hear."
"Oh..." Mimi’s ears drooped slightly, her expression disappointed at not being able to have mating right away.
Liana smiled softly, watching Mimi’s cheerful energy fade slightly. "How about I cook breakfast for you, like the steaks you ate earlier in the kitchen?"
"Nya? Really!? I love Liana’s steaks! Eheheeh!" Mimi rushed toward Liana and hugged her tightly.
"There, there~" Liana smiled and patted her head.
Mimi glanced up at Liana. "So, how about we continue the explanation, nya?"
Everyone except Liana glared at Mimi and shouted in unison, "NO!"
"Nya? Why?" Mimi tilted her head in confusion.
Gloria, Felicia, and Delya stared at her in disbelief.
"You seriously think it’s proper to continue?" Gloria asked.
"Ne? What’s wrong?" Mimi placed a finger under her chin, genuinely puzzled.
Felicia slapped her forehead lightly. "You really think there’s nothing wrong with it?"
"Nya? You all didn’t explain it yet. How would I know? Besides, Big Sis Liana is teaching me about it, right?" Mimi’s tail flicked innocently.
Gloria exhaled and looked at Liana. "First Wife. You should be the one to explain it to her."
"Hmm?" Liana smiled. "I think I already gave her the best explanation, especially since you said explaining it with flowery language wouldn’t help her understand. I was just following what you suggested, Second Wife~"
Gloria narrowed her eyes at Liana before letting out a long sigh. She then turned her gaze toward Mimi. "No more explanations, Mimi. Or you might end up falling for the wrong person next."
"Falling for the wrong person?" Mimi’s ears twitched as she sat on Liana’s lap, her tail swaying gently.
Gloria exhaled, shook her head, and looked at Liana. "Someone’s going to end up on the wrong path."
Liana let out a soft laugh and patted Mimi’s head. "Mimi~"
"Yes, nya?" Mimi glanced up at Liana’s face as Liana slowly leaned in, her lips hovering just inches from Mimi’s.
"Liana!!" Everyone shouted as they saw Liana’s lips nearly touch Mimi’s before Liana whispered softly, "It’s better if you ask Young Master for that later, Mimi~ It will be far better than any explanation I can give."
Everyone exhaled in relief and glanced at Liana, who just gave them a sly smile. "You know... I can help you all with that, too~"
Everyone quickly glanced away, pretending to be busy. Delya rushed to finish dressing, Felicia tied her hair after slipping into her dress, and Gloria sat up and picked up the book from the floor.
Mimi tilted her head in confusion as Liana let out another soft, graceful laugh.
"Nya? What’s wrong?" Mimi asked, confused by everyone’s sudden reaction.
Liana patted Mimi’s arm and smiled. "Now, now... stand up. We’re going to Young Master’s personal workshop and to visit our Pekko, too." She glanced at Gloria. "Did you already fill our Pekko’s food and change their water?" Liana asked while Mimi stood up and adjusted her oversized shirt and shorts.
"Hmm?" Gloria adjusted her glasses. "Not yet, but since Young Master’s invention for Pekko feed, they can just press the dispenser with their talons to fill the trough themselves."
"Still..." Liana smiled gently. "It’s our responsibility to at least check their food and change their water. Especially with all our Pekko now laying eggs in the pen."
She smiled and stood up, glancing at everyone. "Let’s head to Young Master’s personal workshop now. We can cook breakfast there."
"Yes, Big Sis." Felicia and Delya nodded.
"Second Wife~ Let’s go." Liana smiled and gracefully walked toward the door, followed slowly by Delya, who walked carefully due to the soreness from her intimate night with Javier. Felicia joined gracefully, and Gloria smiled, adjusted her glasses, and walked beside Liana.
Meanwhile.
Garius’s Private Room.
Everyone was listening carefully to the plan.
Javier was writing notes after hours of discussion among them.
Garius leaned forward, rested his elbows on the table, clasped his hands, and glanced at everyone.
"I believe that’s all for the plan, for now," Garius said calmly. "There might be some adjustments if something unexpected happens later, but for now, I believe this is the most balanced approach."
Garius leaned back in his chair and exhaled softly.
"Even if it’s not our direct responsibility for what’s coming when the civil war breaks out, we must still be prepared for the ripple effects. So, you all must be ready for anything that might happen in the future." Garius looked at all his sons.
"Yes, esteemed Father." Javier, Marcellus, Heres, Cedric, and Aelius replied in unison.
Garius looked at Hesbeirn and Gilmon.
"Hesbeirn, Gilmon. Ensure our troops are in good morale, well-rested, and always prepared. We have a huge advantage in communication with mana talkies, relay towers, command centers, and bases, but that doesn’t mean we can be complacent. Keep our soldiers in full alert, no matter what."
"As you command, Your Highness." Hesbeirn and Gilmon placed their fists over their left chests and nodded respectfully.
He glanced at Javier. "Regarding the border closure, the Border Relief Mandate will remain active and will be expanded to the Arjam area as well, especially regions close to the Arjam border."
He looked at Javier. "Thankfully, you came up with the full explanation and details on paper for it." He smirked. "When a border closes suddenly, it can throw the whole local economy into chaos. Towns that depend on trade and travelers might end up in trouble."
Garius leaned back in his chair, resting his cheek on his knuckle, elbow on the armrest. "The suggestion to give direct coin payments for essential goods to any Armand locals affected, was indeed clever. Though Alf and I still have to perfect the implementation, with your framework, it helps our people afford what they need: food, clothes, essentials. Merchants can keep selling, and nobody goes hungry, even with the border shut."
Everyone smiled and glanced at Javier, who sat calmly, averting his eyes modestly.
Garius continued. "With our current treasury..." He glanced at Francesca and all his wives before looking at Alf, Erinette, Hesbeirn, Gilmon, and Rasdingen.
"There won’t be any problem for us to keep our people stable with this relief. The money spent locally prevents the whole area from collapsing. Everyone still has customers. Merchants from other Armand towns keep coming, too, since they know money is still flowing in these border towns. It’s the perfect buffer to keep things stable until the border opens again."
Garius smirked again.
"Now, Javier De Armand."
"Yes, esteemed Father?" Javier glanced at Garius, though his eyes remained respectfully averted.
Garius leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table, his fingers intertwined and his hands clasped loosely, his lips resting just behind them in his usual cool, stern posture.
"I believe there’s something you want to share?"
