Reborn As Divine Doctor to Rule the World-Chapter 91 - 92 Severe Punishment Looms
Chapter 91: Chapter 92 Severe Punishment Looms
“Government Official brother, could you please make an exception for me? I’m just bringing him some food,” Jhiang Yijia said with a smile, rubbing her pregnant belly outside the door.
If Yun Qian had not found her, she would still be unaware of the serious trouble Doctor Shao had encountered, having been captured and thrown into the prison, and even falsely accused of stealing a house.

“No, she’s not allowed to visit the prison,” the Government Official said very firmly.
The maid behind her advised, “Miss, your body is heavy with pregnancy, it would be better not to go to such places as the prison.”
Jhiang Yijia looked sternly at her and reprimanded, “Doctor Shao has been kind to me, now that my benefactor is in trouble, how can I sit by and ignore it?”
“But…”
...
“Shut up!”
The maid, having heard this, could only step aside.
“I know you all are just following orders, I promise I won’t stay inside for too long, I hope you Government Official brothers can make an exception,” Jhiang Yijia said, as she took out some pieces of silver from her sleeve pouch and placed them in their hands.
“All right then, but you can’t bring in any of this food, there are orders from above forbidding giving her food,” the Government Official said with newfound interest at the sight of the money.
Jhiang Yijia knew that this surely was someone’s deliberate scheme, but she had no other choice right now and could only pass the food box to the maid behind her, while she secretly hid some pastries in her sleeve.
Jhiang Yijia followed the Government Official to the prison, hurriedly walked over, and saw a figure leaning against the prison bars, softly calling out, “Doctor Shao?”
Shao He, hearing the familiar voice, turned to see Jhiang Yijia’s worried face and her slightly protruding belly, his eyebrows slightly furrowed as he said, “Why have you come?”
Jhiang Yijia approached and examined her thoroughly, relieved only after making sure she had not been tortured.
“I just learned that you were locked up, so I rushed over to see you,” Jhiang Yijia said with a tender smile, reaching out to smooth her disheveled hair.
Shao He felt moved inside but did not show it, just hummed softly and then quickly changed the subject, “You, carrying a child now, should not stay here for long, it’s not good for you, go back quickly.”
“You really had me worried to death,” Jhiang Yijia’s eyes also reddened slightly.
Shao He patted Jhiang Yijia’s shoulder and soothed, “Don’t worry, I’m okay. It’s not good for the child if you’re like this.”
“You…” Jhiang Yijia stopped mid-speech, with too many questions she wanted to ask.
“How did you know I was in prison?” Shao He asked with confusion.
“It was Master Yun. He came looking for me, hoping to find out exactly what was happening,” Jhiang Yijia explained.
Hearing her weak voice, knowing she probably hadn’t eaten, Jhiang Yijia quickly took the pastries from her sleeve and gave them to her while the Government Official wasn’t looking.
Shao He smiled as she accepted them, devouring the pastries ravenously. Though a single pastry wasn’t very filling, it could at least sustain her for a bit longer.
After swallowing the last piece of pastry, Shao He thanked her, “Thank you.”
“It’s nothing. I found out about this affair, it’s Imperial Physician Lu, jealous of the prescription in your hands and deliberately framing you. Unfortunately, the Jhiang Family is now constrained and can’t get you out of here, I’m sorry,” Jhiang Yijia felt a bit guilty.
Yet Shao He gratefully said, “You’ve already helped me a lot, you don’t need to apologize.”
“Ah, it’s also fortunate that Chu Yu has been suppressed recently and hasn’t been doing well, or he would certainly have kicked me while I’m down, and then things would be even more troublesome,” Jhiang Yijia sighed.
Only then did Shao He realize that everything was Imperial Physician Lu’s plot, all for the recipe in her possession, finding it laughable that such a person was deemed worthy to stay at the Imperial Medical Bureau!
“Since they have their plots, that will make things easier,” Shao He already had a plan in mind.
Jhiang Yijia grew sentimental, “If Princess Huimin were here, no one would dare touch you.”
“Maybe they made their move precisely because the princess is absent, afraid that I would go for reinforcements,” Shao He speculated.
This left her in a helpless and isolated state.
“Are you done? Hurry up and leave!” the Government Official urged from the side.
Jhiang Yijia, having no choice, had to leave, but before doing so, she held Shao He’s hand and promised, “I will find a way to get you out, you must hold on.”
“Go,” Shao He said with a faint smile.
Actually, she was acutely aware that those people would not give her much time, for they intended to force her to hand over the prescription before Princess Huimin returned.
As expected, that very night, the door to the prison cell was flung open.
The Government Official walked in and asked, “Doctor Shao, have you considered it?”
“What if I refuse?” Shao He raised her head to ask the men.
The Government Official crouched down and sneered, “Since you’re so uncooperative, I have no choice but to serve you severe punishment until you are willing to divulge the prescription!”
“You are abusing private punishment, are you not afraid that if this is investigated, you could lose your heads?” Shao He could hardly believe that such injustices were happening right under the emperor’s nose.
The Government Official, upon hearing her retort, laughed, “No one will care about a commoner like you; if you die, you die.”
These words shocked Shao He deeply. Was life so insignificant in their eyes, like ants to be trampled? Were commoners like them destined to face injustice and death?
“You are commoners too. If one day you suffer such injustice, will you still be able to speak such words as you do now?” Shao He argued defiantly.
Unfortunately, the Government Official did not care about her impassioned protest, and coldly said, “It looks like you don’t drink toast but must be forced to drink the forfeit. Well, don’t blame me for being unkind to you.”
The Government Official stood up and shouted loudly, “Come, take her down and ‘entertain’ her properly!”
