Reborn As Cursed Alpha's Mate-Chapter 70: Aftereffects Of The Marking Ceremony
Chapter 70: Aftereffects Of The Marking Ceremony
A whole new world seemed to have opened for Cassandra as Siroos marked her. His existence seemed to have seeped into the very crevices of her brain where he didn’t exist before.
Every pore of her skin was infused with his lush scent of sage and sand.
Every nerve fibre was hyper-aware of his touch.
Every emotion seemed to have been heightened for her.
Jealousy
Anger
Embarrassment
Affection
Feelings
Siroos extracted his fangs and placed his lips on the bleeding skin, stopping the blood flow.
The world melted away leaving him and his tender lips only as Cassandra drew in sharp breaths, her chest heaved so loudly as if her heart would burst out.
The bond, the pheromones, the senses. Everything seemed to have been heightened for her. His touch was even more personal now and she wished to break down in his arms for the kind of life he had thrust her in. Tears pricked the sides of her eyes; she seemed to have been submerged in an ocean of untouched emotions.
His hands on her waist were like two coals, burning her existence to ash and smoke. Her body temperature was rising as if he had thrust her into a furnace, beads of perspiration were crawling down her back.
She was furious and yet she wished to be held. Such contradictions existed in her heart now. Cassandra wished this connection to never sever and for his hands and proximity to keep scorching her.
Her head was swimming with all these new feelings stemming inside her because of the mild venom he injected in her blood. The one that wouldn’t let her markings heal, the one which had awakened all the hibernated sensations.
She could clearly sense his emotions now, not by looking but by feeling them.
Siroos severed his lips from her skin and an annoyed whimper tried to escape her. Cassandra checked herself in time, wondering what this man had done to her.
His head lifted and their gazes intertwined.
His eyes glistened with all those repressed emotions while a conglomeration of colours flashed through them. Every spirit urged to take a peek at their mate after the bonding and deep buried on the fringes were his longings for her. The ones he would be able to fulfil but not all. freeweɓnovel-cøm
Confused and dazed she stared back at him, lost in the array of hues his eyes went through. No words left her mouth but he still understood she was grappling with all these new emotions.
The "Sage and Saffron" mingled, creating a new scent, a scent of their bonding and marking.
And both of them greedily inhaled.
Savouring it.
Tasting it, as it was like nothing they had ever experienced before.
Siroos nipped the urge to kiss her. The bonding ceremony mostly completed with those for normal couples, but they were far from being one. She hated him for now and he didn’t see that changing in the near future.
Or could it now?
For now he was going to savour the joy of having her in his arms, drunk on their newly established bond.
She seemed befuddled and dazed, her heart so erratic like a battle drum, announcing their chaotic reunion.
It was going to test both of them, especially after this marking, which had heightened their emotions for each other.
"The bonding ceremony between Siroos Dusartine and Cassandra LeBlanc stands complete. You are officially bonded now." Haylia declared and everyone took a bow for the new Queen.
Luna Queen Cassandra Siroos.
Cassandra turned to face them, the pack who had already wronged her on so many steps. She understood their reasons, but she felt it was time to create some clear boundaries so they wouldn’t think she was a pushover.
"Thank you for accepting me as one of your own. I will strive to fit into this role to the best of my knowledge but let’s be clear on something. Siroos is my mate from now onwards. I don’t wish to see anyone causing rifts between us." Cassandra was still drunk on the courage Siroos’s marking had provided and she took full advantage of the situation.
Some of the Elders tried to open their mouths and speak but Siroos’s threatening glare made them hold their tongues. Haylia sighed and hoped the situation would remain smooth which she highly doubted.
He was utterly surprised at how she had put everyone in their place, but more importantly, he was proud as she had spoken like a true Luna.
’Our mate is feisty and she is jealous. I love that. Let’s steal her and run,’ the wolf inside of him suggested.
Siroos smiled at his wolf’s words.
"Congratulations! Let me guide you outside."
Faris finally unglued himself from the wall, beaming at how Cassandra had handled the Elders. Ambling over, he placed one arm around Siroos’s shoulders and the other went over Cassandra’s, ignoring his brother’s murderous glare. He walked them out of this suffocating place.
"Sister-in-law, I am so very proud of you. Remember, if anyone, and I sincerely mean anyone, including my thick-headed brother, gives you any trouble. Just inform me and I will handle them," he proudly announced to Cassandra with a naughty grin.
"I will keep that in mind and I appreciate it more than you realise," Cassandra answered with a soft smile crawling on her lips.
"Seems like you want to lose an arm," Siroos grunted as they halted near the oasis. He roughly pushed Faris’s heavy arm away from his mate’s delicate shoulders.
Cassandra pursed her lips, it was impossible to stay cross or even keep a straight face when Faris was around.
"She is my sister too now. Stop hoarding her. I always wanted an elder sister; instead, I got a grumpy brother with a thigh fetish." Faris poked his tongue out while airing all of Siroos’s dirty secrets.
"I think you came here with a death wish. How long has it been since you got laid? You always act up when it’s been a while." Siroos swiftly smacked him behind his head, making him rub the sore spot.
"Oh! Please, as if you can be the one to...," Faris wanted to throw a jibe back, but then he saw Cassandra’s smiling face and stopped mid-sentence.
"Ranon! Ames! Take him for a walk," Siroos called out to his Beta and Gamma. Both of them rushed to where they were standing.
"Congratulations! Luna Cassandra." They respectfully passed their regards.
"Thank you, Ranon and Ames. Especially for guarding me day and night." Cassandra offered them a kind smile, her hands were elegantly crossed in front.
"It’s our duty to keep you safe," Ranon answered in reverence while clasping Faris by the shoulder to steer him away. They understood Siroos needed a moment with his Luna while Faris was being his annoying little self.
"Fine! I am leaving. No need to manhandle me. Race you guys to the training grounds. The loser will pay for today’s gin." Faris announced and took off. Ames and Ranon raced behind him while Siroos shook his head.
"This boy will never grow up." Turning to Cassandra he offered his hand and said,
"We need to water our seed together, soon it will sprout, come."
Cassandra ignored him, now that they were alone and walked ahead in the direction of the seed they had planted.
"I know."
