Reborn As Cursed Alpha's Mate-Chapter 101: The Gifts
Chapter 101: The Gifts
Lotus and Razial stayed for three days. Other than slight skirmishes between Razial and Faris for Lotus’s attention everything else went smoothly.
Lotus observed Cassandra was loved and cherished, especially by her mate and the people closer to her. Faris was funny and kept her entertained; Ranon and Lana were like her support pillars, always ready to help and protect.
Even Haylia was always respectful and appreciative. So were most of the pack members. Lotus was slightly apprehensive of the Elders, but they kept their distance, and she knew how the older people were, conservative with their rules and traditions.
Before leaving, Lotus used her magic to let a few plants sprout in this sandy soil, which could thrive in it and become tall trees to provide shade and fruit for the pack.
"They are Gambatia Trees, their fruits have high water levels, and they will help quench thirst in this hot weather. That’s my gift for the pack," Lotus said, letting her magic weave out of her in emerald waves and wind around the young plants; they swerved up, taking the form of giant trees with wide canopies and dark green leaves the size of an elephant’s ear.
"Fascinating!" Siroos marvelled at seeing the tall trees.
"Thank you! For this beautiful gift, Lotus." Cassandra squeezed her sister’s arm. Lotus patted her hand with a gorgeous smile.
"Wow! Princess Lotus, you are marvellous. Weave some magic for me as well." Faris rubbed his hands together, seeming all starry-eyed. He tried to take a step closer to Lotus but was blocked by Razial’s imposing figure.
Lotus had to tilt her head around Razial’s huge body to find Faris.
"I wish I had a kind of magic which would lead you to your mate. Something tells me you are going to find her soon." She winked at him making his puffed-out chest deflate as if someone had stepped on a puffer fish.
Razial let out a mirthless chuckle seeing all the flirtation on Faris’s part had failed. freewebnσvel.cѳm
Ranon stepped closer to his friend and wrapped his arm around his sinewy shoulders that glistened under the sun.
"Let’s wallow later for your loss with some gin." Ranon pulled him back while Siroos and Cassandra were trying not to laugh at Faris’s misery.
"My heart, you broke my heart, Princess Lotus." He dramatically banged his chest as if it was true.
"Stop bothering the guests on their departure day. Move along now."
Haylia had arrived with Ara and Palia. Ara seemed to be giving jilted looks to Faris. Although she knew he loved to flirt and had told her beforehand that whatever was between them was only temporary, she had begun to like him.
His easy going nature and comical attitude made it difficult to not fall in love with him.
Haylia moved closer to Lotus; Palia handed her a silvery cloak woven from the finest material. She presented it to Razial.
"You were our guest, a token from my pack, especially for tolerating my son, Faris."
He accepted it with gratitude while Faris threw his arms in the air in protest. Ranon sympathetically thumped his back.
"Thank you, I appreciate this gift," Razial respectfully answered while accepting it.
Then, a gloomy-looking Ara stepped forward and handed over a gold gown to Haylia, which she presented to Lotus.
"This is woven by our goldworms. It is the finest of the silk. We appreciate you leaving us with these lush trees. Thank you! And I hope you can visit us again."
Lotus accepted the gown with an appreciative nod; the material was extremely soft like it slipped through her fingers. She had heard about goldworms, they were extremely rare and difficult to breed but they were a goldmine to have. The silk they produced was treasured throughout the world by the elites and royal families.
"Aw! This is so beautiful. I will always cherish it. Thank you."
Lotus carefully handed the gown to Razial and focused her attention towards Siroos, who was delicately holding Cassandra by her waist as if she were the most precious to him.
"Take care of my sister, you hurt her. I will come for you," she boldly told him with a challenge in her eyes.
"I would expect nothing less from you," Siroos answered with a deliberate smile.
Lotus then affectionately hugged her sister.
"Take care, if there is anything just write to me. I will always be there."
Cassandra sniffled, her heart gloomy seeing her sister go.
"I know, I hope we will see each other again."
"We will." Lotus separated from her and squeezed both her hands. Cassandra nodded, trying to hold her tears back.
The royal carriage was brought along, and after all the pleasantries, Razial helped Lotus climb inside the carriage, offering his hand and helping her with her gown.
"Miss me sometimes," Faris loudly called out. Cackles broke out.
"Invite me to your Mating Ceremony," Lotus mischievously shouted back. More cackles from everyone. Razial had a smirk going while Faris made a wacky face.
The carriage began to move as everyone waved.
"Have a safe journey," Cassandra called out, seeing the sand particles dance in the air from the moving wheels.
Lotus peered from the carriage window and blew Cassandra a last kiss. Faris tried to catch it with his extended hand and placed it on his heart, lighting everyone’s mood even further.
Cassandra turned her head and found Ara, seeming rather gloomy and wistfully staring at the man who was now gossiping with Ranon.
"This boy will give me more grey hair," Haylia muttered heading back inside.
"Your hair are already grey, don’t pin that on me," Faris complained, walking away with Ranon.
"Training time, Malakti. Should we proceed?" Siroos asked.
"Yes! You go ahead, I will arrive shortly with Ara," Cassandra answered, giving her mate a meaningful look.
He understood and left her by Ara’s side.
"Ara! Will you accompany me today to the training arena?" Cassandra softly asked and the girl quickly nodded her head.
