Starting With SSS-rank: I Get A New Skill Every Livestream-Chapter 66: Pathetic
Kyle wasn’t running short on time, as he hadn’t sensed anyone approaching, nor had he received any message from Veronica alerting him that his interference had been noticed.
So, he decided to take a moment to calm his breathing in the park before figuring out what to do next.
Naturally, his focus remained on the screen, where several comments were scrolling. Among them was a new presence... a name he didn’t recognize.
Brawler.
[That was marvelous for someone so pitifully weak. You would make a good living step.]
Kyle tilted his head and asked the system, "What is a living step?"
Myuri: [Absolutely not! You don’t need to know about it, and you #*#£—I will absolutely ruin your shelter if you insult Kyle again!]
Kyle sighed and said, "It’s okay, Myuri. Brawler isn’t wrong to call me weak. I couldn’t even control my own powers... and that’s the most basic thing one should achieve."
WarHorse: [Brother... as a magician, you’re not even an infant yet. How can you judge yourself like that?]
Tharos: [That’s right, Kyle. Don’t listen to anyone but me. And I think you did well.]
Kyle smiled behind his mask... they really knew how to lift his spirits.
Leaning against the wall, he said, "Well, thanks for the challenge though. If not for it, I might have stopped there and never tried to take another step."
Brawler: [That’s an inherent flaw... giving up is practically a pathetic human trait. You’re no exception, so don’t feel too ashamed.]
Kyle gave a wry smile... that was certainly one way to comfort him.
Myuri: [I swear to God, I will drown you in the Styx until you beg me to stop.]
Brawler: [Hmm? What’s with you, XXXX? Favoring a human to the point of bias? Do you not remember the days we trained? Were things ever easy? Was giving up an option?]
Myuri: [...but Kyle is new... can’t you be at least a little gentler with your words?]
Kyle sighed. What Brawler said wasn’t wrong, but it was also true that it hadn’t even been ten days since he had gained these powers.
Just then, he decided to move on and do something else.
’System, keep an eye on my surroundings and alert me if anyone approaches.’
[Understood, host.]
He then closed his eyes and raised his right hand.
Slowly, something began to form between his fingers, dense and shadowed, yet faintly luminous. It pulsed like a fragment of night given shape. The stub extended, lengthening in silence, stretching outward from both ends before curving gracefully, its form settling two feet beyond Kyle’s grasp.
A golden radiance bloomed along its frame, not merely wrapping around it but flowing through it, as if the bow had been forged from sunlight itself, refined by something far beyond mortal craftsmanship. It shimmered with a quiet divinity, like a relic born at the dawn of creation, where light and darkness first intertwined.
When he held it, Kyle felt no weight, yet its presence pressed against his senses, vast and undeniable, as though he was gripping something that did not entirely belong to this world.
Both times he had used the bow before, he was in a rush, first against the Ghoul, and then while escaping the third floor.
But right now, he had the time to truly behold it.
The pride of an archer... something that felt less like a weapon, and more like a will given form.
The first time he held it, he just willed destruction, and it happened. The other time, he wanted a distraction, and it happened. It was as if the bow listening to his requests and the arrow released delivered what he demanded.
But it couldn’t go on like this. He needed to control his thoughts and be more precise with his commands for better results.
"Let’s try small explosive projectiles..." he said, stretching the string that formed out of thin air before targeting a nearby tree. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
A wave of Genesis flowed from his body and condensed into an arrow, ready to be released.
Kyle felt a surge of danger from the arrow and paused.
[That would cause a massive explosion, Host.]
The system warned him.
Kyle asked, "Then what should I do? Can I stop this?"
[No, Host. Your body has already released the Genesis, and the Aquilla has shaped it according to your will. You must release it somewhere.]
Kyle chewed on his lower lip. If he caused an explosion, he would surely attract attention, not only from the local authorities but the PSC as well.
To add more pressure, the system notified,
[A mission from the viewer <WarHorse> had been assigned.]
[Mission: Don’t cause an explosion.]
[Reward: 30SP]
Great...was he already not under an immense pressure already that he was now given the risk of losing precious system points?
What should he do now?
’Well...that might work.’ He closed his eyes and pulled the string even further.
His aim remained unchanged, but something else shifted.
The arrow.
It thinned, then split into four slender projectiles.
Kyle released them at once.
Tnng
CREAK
They struck the tree, phasing through it before slamming into the wall behind with enough force to crack it.
Since he wasn’t allowed to absorb the Genesis back, he simply divided it into smaller fragments instead.
Kyle exhaled as the bow dissolved into golden light.
Nodding, he said, "I’ll call this Deteroit."
It didn’t make much sense, but who cared? It wasn’t like he was going to shout it at the top of his lungs before attacking someone.
Dusting his hands, he added, "Well, thanks for watching and supporting me. Brawler, this might be your first time on the stream, so I hope it wasn’t too boring."
Brawler: [I have nothing better to do anyway.]
Kyle chuckled, then said, "Tomorrow, I’ll be busy during the day, so I’ll stream in the evening. And we’re doing a QnA, so prepare your questions and wait for me."

A/N:- Thanks for reading. Live streaming would be a part of his journey, but adding high rank abilities every single time feels the story would become boring.
