Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive-Chapter 95: Ch : Break into Base Again? - Part 2
"Let’s split up. That way, we would be able to cover more area. Emperor, you take care of Clara and Lilianna. I will go with Seraphina and check out the area."
Andrew told the party, and they nodded. They quickly split apart and started their search.
It was all quiet for a moment before Seraphina spoke up.
"Do you have anything to say to me?"
She asked in a deliberate voice. She could feel Andrew looking at her with keen eyes, and they made her nervous. She felt a little exposed, almost as if she had been seen through.
"Did you have the extra beacons? Don’t answer that. I can see from your face that you do."
As expected, Andrew had caught what she did not mean to speak. It made Seraphina feel even more exposed.
She wanted to laugh and tell him that he was mistaken, but those words did not come out of her mouth. Something felt like it was clogging her throat.
Instead, she asked him another question.
"Are you...disappointed in me because I did not give up the beacons?"
The Andrew she knew would not be disappointed in her. But he might have changed after becoming a human. If so, she was not sure what to do anymore...
"Huh-! Why would I care about that? You found those beacons, so they are yours to use as you wish. It is not your fault Thief’s beacons got stolen. We do not owe him anything to help him out."
Andrew reminded Seraphina, and she felt her worries melting away.
’Even after all this, Andrew is the same person I have always known. There was no reason for me to feel nervous regarding him after all.’
That made Seraphina feel a little better about her decisions.
Guilt was not an emotion she felt, but she did feel bad about having to deceive Andrew. Thankfully, that turned out not to be the case here.
As they ran around the base, their sensitive hearing quickly picked up someone yelling not too far away.
"Stay away-! I am on the system’s side as well. Why would you attack me-? Tsk, such pesky creatures..."
The man spoke softly but confidently.
Andrew saw a crimson flame engulfing monsters, and he immediately formed a barrier around himself and Seraphina, protecting them.
The barrier held against the flames, but it made the barrier shake.
[Player Name: Faker (level 21)
Title: The system’s helper, Stranger’s mask

The ability of this player had sounded overpowered on paper, but he was unlucky. He had run into two people who were higher level than him.
"Tsk, finally. I just need to find a safe base now, and I can plant one of the beacons. I will be safe in the game and also have completed my objective-" 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Seraphina’s make-shift sword quickly attacked the man, causing him to dodge it.
But the frying pan she had picked up as a weapon did massive damage to the man.
"A...frying pan? What kind of weapon is this?"
Faker asked in an annoyed voice, only for Seraphina to appear behind him.
"The frying pan is a weapon of the highest caliber. Unfortunately, people like you won’t recognize its magnificence."
Faker quickly realized what was happening, and he formed a barrier of ice behind him to block Seraphina’s attack.
He was able to dodge her, but Andrew already noticed where the man would step and set up a barrier around his feet.
Faker stood stuck in place, now a little stunned, and Seraphina wasted no time in going after him.
"Tsk, I will burn you to a crisp..."
Faker yelled and immediately used the fire skill on Seraphina...which turned out to be the wrong thing to do.
Since Seraphina had both skills—Flame Empress’s Resolution and Flaming Prison—she had really high fire resistance. It was to the point where she could take a full blast of fire to the face and not even be fazed.
Her hand squeezed the neck in front of her, and she held the other man at her mercy.
"Y-You...what are you doing? Let me go..."
Faker told her as he scratched Seraphina’s arm to be let go of. But Seraphina kept a steady hold on him.
Andrew walked over as well and gave Faker a slight smile.
"We will let you live, but only if you hand over the beacons to us. It is not that big of a price to pay for your life, right?"
Faker looked stuck, and he immediately got angry.
"Fuck off. If I give you these beacons, then I will die when the game ends. Do you really think I am going to agree..."
"There is no point in discussing anything here. Besides, he does have a point. I don’t think he would hand over the beacons to us peacefully."
’I would not have.’
Seraphina did not say those words, but Andrew understood them anyway. He shook his head as he looked at the player in front of him.
"Looks like we have no other choice. Should I take care of it-?"
"No, let me."
Seraphina was not offering this. She was telling Andrew that she was going to take care of the man in front of them, and there was nothing he could do to stop her.
Not that Andrew wanted to. He allowed Seraphina to end Faker’s life.
"T-This won’t be over...I promise...I will..."
Faker yelled, but that was the end of his life.
"How unfortunate. He had such an amazing ability. However, he was dealt a bad hand..."
Andrew shook his head as he watched Faker’s body disappear. Eleven beacons fell from his body randomly around the clearing.
Andrew immediately gathered 10 of them, but before he could get to the 11th beacon, a monster appeared and swallowed it whole.
"Tsk, it’s one problem after another. But this time, it should be easy to take care of this monster since we have experience, right?"
Seraphina asked, and Andrew nodded.
Despite the monster being level 30, it held no chance against the pair.
