Reborn as a Tough Army Wife-Chapter 637 - 632: Suspicions About the Car Accident
Luo Zhiyong came to his senses, coughed, and looked away from Fang Pingying’s face.
But he didn’t know anything about these matters at all. After returning from the training camp yesterday, he went straight to the hospital. Last night, he and Fang Xiu took turns on night duty, stayed up all night, and came here upon waking, without having yet been to Luo Dashan’s place. How could he know about Luo Zhiming’s affairs?
Upon hearing Fang Pingying say this, he asked in great surprise, "Luo Zhiming came to the city?"
"I don’t know, how could you not know about your own family matters?" Fang Pingying didn’t know when Luo Zhiming had come to the city; she even thought that Luo Zhiming had come a long time ago and speculated that perhaps Luo Zhiyong had pulled some strings to find work for him.
So, remembering how Luo Zhiming had harmed her child in the past, and seeing how easily Luo Zhiyong had forgiven him, she felt displeasure in her heart, and her tone became aggressive.
However, Luo Zhiyong misunderstood, thinking that Fang Pingying’s point was that this was his family affair, and what did it have to do with her.
Even though that was the case, Luo Zhiyong didn’t like how Fang Pingying clearly demarcated their relationship, and he felt somewhat uncomfortable. He nodded lightly to Fang Pingying and said, "I know, I’ll handle it."
After saying that, Luo Zhiyong walked forward, leading Yaoyao with one hand and Ruirui with the other.
For some reason, watching Luo Zhiyong’s departing figure, Fang Pingying felt like he was angry, but she didn’t know what had irritated him.
But Fang Pingying didn’t bother with it, and took the bus to the hospital with her things.
Early in the morning, the hospital was eerily quiet, and even more so in the critical care unit, adding to the silence.
When Fang Pingying walked over, she saw Fang Xiu sitting on the hospital chair, staring blankly, her eyes red, clearly having just cried not long ago.
Fang Pingying’s heart got cold, thinking there must have been some change in Zhou Guangsheng’s condition. She immediately walked over and called out, "Xiu’er."
It was as if Fang Xiu suddenly snapped to attention, turned her head around, and shouted, "Sis, you’ve come."
Fang Pingying saw her expression and asked cautiously, "What happened, has Guangsheng’s condition changed?"
Fang Xiu immediately shook her head, pulled Fang Pingying to sit beside her, and said, "No, the doctor just came to see him. He said that his body is strong, and his condition is better than they expected. If there is no major change by this morning, it should be no big problem."
Fang Pingying finally breathed a sigh of relief, but still looked puzzled at Fang Xiu, "If his condition is good, why are you crying like this?"
Upon hearing this, Fang Xiu’s eyes filled with tears again, and she spoke with a sense of grievance, "Sis, do you know? Last night, Guangsheng woke up vaguely twice, and both times he was calling the same name."
"Calling whom?"
Fang Xiu said with a hint of chill, "Han Baijing, and something about a child."
Upon hearing this, Fang Pingying frowned and an idea suddenly formed in her mind.
If Zhou Guangsheng was calling Bai Jing’s name while comatose, it could mean that he still had lingering feelings for Bai Jing, or it could be that he had seen Bai Jing recently before getting injured.
Considering that Zhou Guangsheng had feelings for Bai Jing, Fang Pingying was skeptical because she had witnessed how deeply Bai Jing had hurt Zhou Guangsheng. If Zhou Guangsheng truly couldn’t let go of Bai Jing, they wouldn’t have divorced.
So, the remaining possibility was that Zhou Guangsheng might have seen Bai Jing not long before he was injured, or that his injury had a direct connection to Bai Jing?
Fang Pingying was contemplating, while Fang Xiu kept on talking, "I think Guangsheng must still like Bai Jing, and maybe that child is indeed his. Even in this condition, he can’t let go."
"Actually, you reminded us before, right? Told us to visit Bai Jing’s home before getting married to ask about the child. But then we went back to our hometown, and never had a chance to go. I don’t know if he went yesterday, then found out that the child is his. Maybe today he wasn’t going to talk to me about marriage, but about the child."
After Fang Xiu said this, Fang Pingying felt that this was increasingly plausible.
To put it simply, it might be that last night Zhou Guangsheng went to Bai Jing’s house to find out about the child, and then Bai Jing asked him to get back together or something, and when he refused, Bai Jing harbored malicious intentions.
Knowing Bai Jing’s character, harming someone was like a game to her; if she wished, nothing was impossible, and legal and moral considerations could be disregarded by her.
Furthermore, the fact that she had failed to harm herself last time but then managed to harm juzi showed she had the audacity.
With this in mind, Fang Pingying looked at Fang Xiu with a frown, and instinctively blurted out, "Why do you only think that Zhou Guangsheng likes Bai Jing? Haven’t you considered..."
Fang Pingying stopped mid-sentence, thinking it was inappropriate to say it now, worried that Fang Xiu would get agitated, and held back.
Fang Xiu felt that Fang Pingying’s abruptly stopped sentence was strange and pressed her for an answer, "Haven’t considered what?"
Fang Pingying still chose not to say anything, but patted Fang Xiu’s shoulder to comfort her, "Don’t worry; don’t make wild guesses. Let’s wait until Guangsheng wakes up, and everything will be clear. I believe there’s definitely nothing between him and Bai Jing. Remember, he insisted on the divorce, and you know it."
Fang Xiu knew something about Zhou Guangsheng’s past and felt that Fang Pingying’s words made sense, but she was still puzzled, "Then why is he still calling Bai Jing’s name repeatedly when he is like this, not mentioning me at all?"
"Don’t worry about it; just take good care of him, and you’ll find out when he wakes up."
Fang Pingying had her suspicions, so after briefly staying in the hospital, she immediately went to Luo Dashan’s place.
Originally, she hesitated whether to go to the military base to share her speculation with the leaders from yesterday, but considering all her assumptions could be wrong and might cause trouble, she decided against it.
After thinking it over, she felt it was better to find Luo Zhiyong and share her suspicions with him. If Luo Zhiyong went to the military base, it might be better; at the very least, it could give them a direction for the investigation.
When Fang Pingying arrived at Luo Dashan’s place, just as she got upstairs, she seemed to hear Luo Zhiyong’s voice, sounding like he was enraged.
And as she got closer, Fang Pingying realized it wasn’t just Luo Zhiyong’s voice; Luo Zhiming’s was there too.
At this moment, inside Luo Dashan’s house, Luo Honglan had just taken Yaoyao and the other little one out to play, afraid they would be frightened by the argument, leaving only the three father and sons inside.
Luo Zhiyong was furious, pointing at Luo Zhiming and yelling, "Luo Zhiming, if you have any sense, get the hell out of here, go back to your work. Haohao is not your son, don’t go bothering Pingying and Fang Xiu anymore."
