Having given an order to his subordinates to also look for the rebel leader as the priority, he decided to indulge himself after 12 days of being deprived of the satisfaction of killing a high-ranking enemy due to Ren Nora’s stubborn presence.

It was just one ability and that was all he needed to break from the encirclement and the deluge of deadly attacks being thrown at him.

With Mind Distortion, he threw all 5 of his enemies into an illusion and with Ren Nora not being here, none of them noticed immediately.

As a C Rank, his innate rank suppression and WIL suppression meant they simply couldn’t resist being pulled into the illusion.

In their tampered perception, they saw their enemy who was too arrogant to dodge succumbing to the combined power of their attacks, coughing a mouthful of blood as he became injured.

But in reality, General Sylvari Charr already escaped.

The moment he activated Mind Distortion, he followed it with Neural Projection, hopping from his current position and suddenly materializing behind the unsuspecting Major Garfield!

To this General, this Cyber Gladiator was the most deadly enemy of the 5 and he intended to kill him first as a show of power to the others to crush their confidence and morale.

The 2 D Rank Mindbreaker NetRunners broke out of the illusion first as instantly, Major Kai and Major Potter noticed Major Garfield’s predicament.

They tried to move to help but the enemy General was faster.

His ADE flowed like a flood as dozens of neon green giant oversized war machines and weapons appeared around the General and Major Garfield, pointed outwards as they immediately unleashed hell on the surrounding.

The air contracted and twisted in a violent manner, turning the vicinity around the General and Major Garfield into a blanket of fire and destruction!

Major Kai and Major Potter paused.

Both NetRunners paused because their instincts told them that if they dared hop into the vicinity of the blanket of destruction, they wouldn’t just die, they would evaporate instantly from the sheer energy and destruction!

CRKSH!

Major Garfield finally broke out of the illusion but it was too late.

Psionic Assault!

Major Garfield’s head swelled as his brain buzzed like he was suddenly assaulted by a swarm of psionic Bees.

His brain felt like it was melting as he shuddered violently like an epilepsy patient in mid-air!

He was being killed from inside out!

And that was not all.

By assaulting the D Rank Cyber Gladiator’s mind in such a violent manner, eroding his mental defense and WIL, General Sylvari Charr finally went for his magnum opus- the core ability of C Rank Mindbreakers.

In that moment, facing this group of troublesome enemies but with Ren Nora no longer there to reinforce them, this General felt like he was swimming.

Neural Tyrant!

Tendrils of his neon green ADE invaded the Cyber Gladiator’s brain as he shuddered violently before he stiffened, then Major Garfield’s eyes turned neon green.

Major Garfield’s mind was subjugated!

He became General Sylvari Charr’s puppet!

This was the true horror of C Rank NetRunners of the Mindbreaker Specialization.

They don’t just kill enemies, they turn enemies into minions!

The moment the others broke out of the illusion, Major Lawrence and Major Mendez realized the situation and desperately charged into the dangerous blanket of destruction that was created by the enemy General.

They suffered heavy injuries passing through the net of destruction but they persevered all in a bid to save Major Garfield. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

But by the time they arrived, it was too late.

They noticed that something was wrong but before they could react, Major Garfield turned towards them with emotionless neon green eyes and attacked!

Sonic Punch!

Apart from Frenzy and Focused Punch, Sonic Punch is the third and final Specialization-exclusive ability of D Rank Cyber Gladiators of the Pulse Brawler Specialization.

Sonic Punch when activated gives the punch of a Pulse Brawler the properties to deal both physical and sonic damage.

Puppet Major Garfield instantly turned the rescue mission of his 2 comrades into a death mission as he unleashed a barrage of sonic punch at them.

BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!

Suffering heavy damage, Major Mendez and Major Lawrence were forced to retreat as they managed to combine their powers to escape the vicinity of Garfield’s attacks and the General’s Data Manifestation attack range.

But that was the nail on the coffin.

With one of their most powerful comrade suddenly subjugated by the enemy, morale dropped like volatile stocks at the trade market, causing the remaining 4 D Rank Ascended to lose their confidence.

Without hesitation, they turned and ran with their tails in between their legs.

Instantly, General Sylvari Charr and puppet Major Garfield went in pursuit, unleashing a barrage of attacks at the 4 D Rank Ascended.

The 2 NetRunners were able to dodge the attacks by constantly hopping through the psionic network with Purgatory active, but the Cyber Gladiator and Gene Augur didn’t have this privilege as they were forced to tank combined attacks of a C Rank NetRunner and a D Rank Pulse Brawler.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

General Sylvari Charr pursued them across the battlefield and outside the military base, and every rebel soldier was forced to watch it happen.

Seeing their Lieutenants being treated like weaklings was the final nail on the coffin as every rebel soldier who saw this pursuit felt despair.

Morale sank rapidly.

The Federation Army pressed their advantage.

After 12 days of holding on, with General Ren Nora no longer available, Iron Reef finally showed its vulnerability in the face of a C Rank Ascended despite the sustained presence of their revolutionary city defense grid- Purgatory.

Within a few minutes, Major Mendez as a Cyber Gladiator who could not heal himself suffered heavy injuries despite his Knight Exosuit’s high defense protecting him and absorbing much of the damage.

Against any other D Rank Ascended, the Knight Exosuit- Legendary Knight of Chaos had extremely high defense and offence but in the face of a C Rank Ascended and a D Rank Pulse Brawler, this high defense couldn’t last.

KABOOM!

A powerful attack with Focused Punch hammered Major Mendez from the sky towards the ground as he landed with a heavy thud and formed a crater on the ground.

Neural Projection!

General Sylvari Charr immediately went in pursuit to end the enemy, his eyes igniting in arrogance and ruthlessness.

His body materialized above Major Mendez’s battered form.

In that moment, despair truly set in.

And yet the moment the General materialized, he felt his heart suddenly skip a beat. ’Huh? What’s going on?’

He was confused.

Before General Sylvari Charr could react or even understand what was happening, he suddenly noticed nearly invisible transparent green streams of light suddenly converging in his location like the millions of data in a network.

There were millions of them!

His face changed. ’What are these? Data streams?’

Before he could react, they slammed into him with the force of a sledgehammer and instantly, the General’s eyes rolled behind his head as what felt like a supernova detonated inside his head!
