Reborn as a Mechanist with a God-Tier System-Chapter 211: Psychological Warfare [2]
Southern Biome, Sprawl Delta.
Inside a café in the famous city of the Geneforge Clans, an employee duo were busy with work as they served customers.
During their break time, the male Geneform leaned against the counter, lost in his thoughts for a few minutes before his eyes suddenly lit up with excitement as he looked at his mate.
"Bro, have you heard?"
"Heard what?"
"Don’t tell me you’ve not heard of the war in Iron Reef, those rebels actually managed to defeat the Federation Army and forced them to retreat!"
The other male worker scoffed. "Who haven’t heard of the war in Iron Reef? Do you think I live under a rock or something?"
The first employee smiled sheepishly. "I didn’t get to watch the live video due to work, but I watched it later and man... what a battle!"
His face flushed with excitement and disbelief. "I still can’t believe that they managed to stop a C Rank Ascended, that’s unbelievable bro!"
His mate laughed. "Various news channels and shows are already talking about it, but many predict that eventually, like the others who came before him, he won’t be able to survive. They say he’ll die".
He shrugged. "Even if he dies, Ren Nora has made history after this battle. Even in death, he’ll always be remembered as a legend".
The first employee’s face flushed even more as he declared with zeal. "Ren Nora won’t die!"
His mate looked at him and refused to comment on that.
The first employee tightened his hands into fists as he said his thoughts out loud. "I still don’t understand why the other major factions are not supporting them yet".
"Is it that they don’t want to overthrow the rule of the Federation?" His voice reeked with frustration.
"Mind what you say". His mate cautioned.
But he wasn’t having it as he retorted. "We’re in Sprawl Delta, are Omnicore assassins going to come here to assassinate me for talking bad about them?"
His mate kept quiet.
His face flushed even more but this time, it was in frustration. "I really wish the Geneforge Clans and the Synth Order will support the rebels".
"Just imagine what would happen, Ren Nora won’t die if they intervene".
"Don’t they see the need to help?"
His mate thought carefully before responding. "Maybe they have their reasons for not helping".
"But I thought we all hate the Omnicore Federation!" The first employee grumbled in frustration.
This conversation happened that same night after the events in Iron Reef, and similar conversations like this happened all over the world.
The battle in Iron Reef already triggered a storm that was sweeping through the entire world.
And yet, for some reason, the 2 major military factions in the world beside the Federation stayed inert.
The leaders of the Synth Order and the Geneforge Clans reacted like what was happening in the West didn’t concern them.
Despite this lack of inactivity from the major players of the world, among the common populace, the narrative already changed as more voices of support came in for the rebels more than ever before in history.
That night, many mercenaries and rebels made the decision of their lives as they embarked on the journey to Iron Reef to reinforce the rebel city.
Ren Nora’s speech ignited a fire in their hearts.
For some, they saw it as an opportunity to make a lot of money as mercenaries but for others, they saw it as an opportunity to finally muster resistance against the Omnicore Federation and build a true city for the free folk.
Their reasons didn’t matter, what mattered was that after the battle of March 21st, more reinforcement swarmed towards Iron Reef.
...
Western Fringe, Iron Reef.
Later that night, Leon’s smartphone beeped with an alert.
BEEP!

The rebel army met their promises as they paid the full money that they promised to the mercenaries of the Order of Iron.
That night Leon didn’t sleep on time as he spent hours organizing all the clues that he already found, trying to decipher secrets and predict how the war that Ren Nora started was going to progress next.
"Davis, project a blank drawing board for me".
DING!
"Yes master".
Leon wrote all the clues that he observed so far down, he wrote all his conjectures down, drawing connections between everything that he observed in the day and finally, he made a prediction.
’The Federation Army is going to strike again this night!’
The fact that they sent a C Rank Ascended here showed the stance of the Omnicore Federation towards Ren Nora’s threat of challenging the C Rank Trial.
The Federation’s Director-Prime absolutely didn’t want the emergence of a new C Rank Ascended, and for some reason the Synth Order and the Geneforge Clans refused to put their support behind Ren Nora despite the ability and promise that he already showed.
This lack of support by the 2 factions left Leon perplexed.
Also, this made Leon convinced that the Federation Army won’t stop after one defeat and humiliation, he believed that there was a 70% chance that they would strike at night when the rebel army let down their guard.
Leon became anxious as he worried if the city would be able to defend themselves against a sudden unexpected assault led by a C Rank Ascended at night.
But on careful thought, he relaxed. ’Ren Nora should have predicted this too’.
From everything that he already learned about the rebel leader, Leon was inclined to believe that he was a master strategist.
Surely, he also predicted the Federation Army’s chances of attacking at night.
Leon stayed awake till midnight, yet there was still no attack.
But around 1am in the morning, the Federation Army struck!
Leon rushed to the roof immediately just in time to see as a familiar neural electronic circuit was projected above the city.
’Purgatory!’ He heaved a sigh of relief.
Just like he expected, the rebel army was ready.
Ren Nora personally led the assault as they aggressively counterattacked against the invaders, but this time the Federation army didn’t press their advantage because their C Rank Commander didn’t lead the assault this time.
Once they noticed that their ambush failed, they kept their distance, harassing the city with ranged attacks for over 2 hours before it ended.
Unlike the battle in the evening, there were very few casualties this time around but they managed to drain Iron Reef’s resources and the energy of the city defense grid.
Despite the losses, once again, Iron Reef survived.
Leon heaved a sigh of relief and finally slept.
