Chapter 48: Going on Killing Spree (2)

Bestial Town, 30th Day of Zephandrel

The sun had set as two moons rose into the sky, shining their light everywhere like stars. Everyone felt warm and cool under the caress of their moonlight.

In an unknown house that showed regality and richness—even though it wasn’t at its peak—a young man with golden eyes and hair was walking up and down in the room he was in.

Suddenly, he paused.

"Any information from the assassins?"

An old male figure came out from the shadows and bowed slightly.

"Greetings, Young Master."

When the golden-haired young man saw this, he nodded.

"So, any update?"

"Young Master, I wasn’t able to contact the assassins sent. It was as if they vanished from the face of the earth. Also, when I went to check their branch here, there was no one there—including their slaves and the manager," the old man said respectfully.

"Hmm. Then what about the target of the assassination? Are they dead?" the young man asked.

"No, Master. I couldn’t find traces of them in the town. Also, I can’t find their dead bodies either," the old man replied.

"This looks suspicious, doesn’t it? We know the strength of the assassins. If they are mortals, they should be easy to deal with. But if they aren’t—and also a strong cultivator—it seems there’s going to be a problem," the young man said as he stroked his chin.

In an unknown inn, four people stood by each other with one in the center sitting down while the other three stood straight—three guys and a lady.

The one in the center had black hair and golden eyes. One of the men had silver hair and eyes, while another had purple hair with purple eyes. As for the lady, she had blonde hair with red ruby eyes that shone like a star.

"Kaidros, have you investigated what I asked you to do?" Drake turned to Kaidros. He didn’t take all the members of the Vorr Clan, as they were plenty now. He only took Kaidros, Lizzy, and the last person, called Finn. He was a sparrow who underwent the Bloodline Transmutation and gained the Thunder Dragon Bloodline.

The reason Drake brought him was that he could fly fast, so it was easier and faster to get to Bestial Town. He didn’t take the bunny children, no matter how much they cried, because he didn’t know how dangerous this would be.

"Yes, Master," Kaidros replied respectfully.

"According to Lizzy’s description, I found the group that assaulted her parents. They stay at the edge of the town. As for Young Master Leo, he’s at the center of the town, which is the Town Lord’s place. Also, there’s a banquet being held tonight," Kaidros explained in detail.

Drake, who heard all of this, nodded as he asked all of them to gather toward him, giving each of them a plain white mask that covered their whole face. This mask cost 1 million, and this was because the system gave him 50% off. For now, there were only five of the masks. Drake purchased all five of them in an instant.

[Concealing Mask: A mask that helps in concealing the user’s appearance and features, giving an unfathomable aura. It takes color based on the user’s Originat.]

Price: 2 million (50% off, price is 1 million)

Quantity: Five

After Drake had given each of them their mask, he smiled as he held his own, keeping the last one. As he put the mask on, the white mask turned dark as it emitted a devouring aura that struck fear into the hearts of men.

As for the others, they too put their own on. Kaidros’ mask turned into a silver mask, as sharp as a sword, cutting through all things. Lizzy’s mask turned blood red, as if it wanted to suck the blood out of one’s body. Finn’s mask turned purple, lightning crackling from it.

Immediately after they placed the masks on their faces,

"Let’s go," Drake commanded. In an instant, their figures disappeared from the room.

Well, apart from taking Lizzy’s revenge, the system mission to level up the Dragon Palace—Drake would say it was related to this.

Mission (Leveling up the Dragon Palace):

Make your name known, maybe secretly, without making your identity as a dragon known.

Kill a human with your own hands without any guilty feelings.

A dragon mustn’t be tarnished—you must take revenge so the dragons will know you are worthy of the throne.

Reward: Leveling the palace, +2 to Host Level.

At the edge of the castle, in a booze shop, five men were sitting respectfully as they drank their booze.

"Haa, honestly that job was just too easy. See the kind of income we gained," one of them shouted, as they were all drunk.

Suddenly, four masked people entered the bar. The one with the black mask flipped an Origin Gold.

"Give each of us a booze, respectively."

The person in charge nodded, as the masked individuals moved and sat in a row of chairs, not far from the five men who were drinking.

Not long after, the drinks for the masked people arrived—but surprisingly, they didn’t take their drinks because it seemed they had to remove their masks before drinking.

All eyes were on them because their masks looked mythical and surprising, enticing to the eyes. One of the five men, who was half-drunk, stood up and headed towards the bartender.

"We need more booze. Don’t worry, there’s a lot of money, so bring more!" he shouted out.

As he was walking back, he bumped into Lizzy, causing him to fall.

"Who dared to make me fall?" the man shouted as he looked at Lizzy.

When he saw that it was a lady, he smiled.

"Hey, young lady, remove your mask. What are you trying to hide?" the man shouted.

"I’m sorry, but why would I show you my face?" Lizzy said coldly.

When the man heard this, he laughed at her and turned to his colleagues.

"See what this young lady is saying!"

The others stood up as they walked toward them. The man shouted,

"Don’t you know who we are? We are—"

"We haven’t even looked for you, but you came looking for us."

Aaaaaargh!
