Reborn as a Devouring Dragon with a System-Chapter 41: Shopping
Chapter 41: Shopping
Drake and the rest went to different places. This time, he allowed Stryx, Noctheria, and Zephyr to transform into their human forms, so now Kaidros is the father of all four of them—he’s the big brother, and they are his triplet siblings.
As for why Drake allowed this, it was because they were going shopping. They had to buy some clothes that looked fashionable enough, and Kaidros had exchanged for multiple gold coins.
The only thing Drake was grateful for—but also had his heart pricked by—was that a lady wasn’t with them to go shopping together. He heard that ladies are like energy generators when they go shopping; they can shop from morning till night looking energetic, which Drake doesn’t want to experience.
But thinking about it, he had never gone shopping with a lady, because he got rejected by all of them. The act of asking a girl to be his girlfriend resulted in ninety rejections, while asking girls to go shopping with him carried an infinite rejection aura.
Drake sighed as they arrived at their destination. According to the people they asked, this place was the best clothing store for shopping.
"Regency Mall"
This was what Drake saw at the entrance of the shopping mall. Its size was big—like three buildings—and he knew that it was a multi-floor building. The entrance had glass, like the normal shopping malls he knew on Earth, but he was confused how it was able to fit here.
There was nothing stopping them from entering, so they entered.
"Welcome to Regency Mall"
Drake heard the voice of a male. Looking up, he saw a young male receptionist who stood at the front. He wore a white shirt that had the name of the mall on it, with black trousers, showing how classy this mall was.
"We are here to buy clothes. I need for my size and that of my children," Kaidros said, as he pointed to Drake with the rabbit children.
As they were planning to move, the sound of the door of the mall opened, and a familiar figure entered Drake’s sight as he turned back.
It was that young lady who dealt with the matter of that young master Leo and them. Kaidros also looked, but something surprising happened when the male receptionist saw the young lady.
This time, the young lady was followed by a middle-aged woman. Maybe she had followed her last time, but Drake’s mind wasn’t there at all.
The male receptionist left them as he quickly attended to the young lady. "We have been expecting you, miss."
Drake watched as they were left behind, with the receptionist now dealing with the young lady. This also set Kaidros’s anger ablaze—someone dared leave his master unattended like this.
"Weren’t you attending to us before?" Kaidros said coldly. Everyone close to the scene could feel his anger.
When the receptionist heard this, he looked at Kaidros. "Sorry for that, but this is a VVIP customer. Unlike you mortals, I have to attend to them first before you guys."
When Kaidros heard this, his anger was ablaze. In the next moment, the receptionist’s head might not have been connected anymore.
"Leave him alone, Kaidros," Drake said telepathically.
"But Master..." Kaidros tried to talk, but when he saw Drake’s expression, "Okay, Master."
He shook his head at this. It’s not that he didn’t feel angry about it, but alas, he couldn’t just kill them. He could only blame the fact that it looked like he was weak and without any background.
When the young lady heard this, she said, "Attend to them first before attending to me. I’m not in a haste." She smiled.
"Okay, miss," the male receptionist nodded.
"Don’t worry, we can take care of ourselves. He doesn’t need to attend to us," Kaidros said coldly as he left the place with Drake and the rest. freewebnσvel.cѳm
The mood had been spoiled. Drake didn’t want to stop here.
"Wait, wait..." the young lady called out to Kaidros, but he didn’t answer as he walked off.
"Wait, miss. Don’t follow them. Do you want to beg them? Don’t forget your identity," the middle-aged woman blocked the young lady as she advised her.
When the young lady heard this, she stopped. She now wondered why she acted that way, before she sighed, looking at the young man.
"Also, that golden-eyed young boy... I don’t know why, but for a brief moment, I felt chills from his eyes—they looked so cold," the old woman said.
"Aunty Ann, maybe it’s a misconception. How can a young boy like him make you scared?" the young lady said.
The middle-aged woman called Aunty Ann nodded. It was true—how could she be scared of a little boy?
Not wasting much time, they continued with what they came there for.
As for Drake and the others, they had gone to another mall to get what they wanted. Even though it wasn’t as classy as Regency Mall, it was still okay.
After settling this, they didn’t head back but continued exploring until they reached a place where slaves were sold.
Seeing the building that had it, he sighed. He had always hated the word Captivity—to deprive someone of their right to do whatever they want.
What’s the essence of life when you can’t truly do what you want?
"Let’s go inside and see what it has for us," Drake said to Kaidros, who nodded as he brought them inside.
After entering, they saw an old man who seemed to be the owner of the slave building. Drake could feel the craftiness the old man possessed, making him shake his head a bit.
The old man began to show them different slaves. He could see that there was the beast aspect and the human part. Drake and Kaidros didn’t head for the beast aspect but went to the human section.
He saw different men and also ladies—whose figures weren’t bad—kept in cages and chained. Seeing this brought Drake’s mood down. He wondered how humans found it so easy to cage their fellow race and use them as slaves.
As they were going through it, Drake was shocked as he saw a familiar figure in the cage, wondering why the person was there.
