Reborn as a Devouring Dragon with a System-Chapter 121: Going Through Tribulation: Battling Thousands of Army (3)
Chapter 121: Going Through Tribulation: Battling Thousands of Army (3)
The rumble of thunder and the crackling of lightning resounded, shaking the very sky.
Drakion looked up, his gaze calm and unwavering, as he saw the Heavens release an entire army of Lightning Dragons.
He shook his head slowly, his aura rising—higher, fiercer—until suddenly, a bolt of lightning pierced through his body. His eyes flashed with blinding thunder and radiant lightning.
In that instant, thunder and lightning surged outward like divine chains, spreading through the atmosphere with destructive elegance.
And then...
Drakion took a step forward.
Everything changed.
Lightning and thunder fell into order, harmonizing with his will—and the horde of Lightning Dragons vanished, erased from existence.
But the Heavens would not relent.
The next moment, the rumbling intensified as thunder and lightning crackled wildly across the sky.
Then came the roar.
ROAR!
CHIRP!
Drakion heard countless cries as ancient beasts took form, born from the very wrath of the Heavenly Dao—Dragons, Phoenixes, Tigers, Wolves—beasts so ancient, some even Drakion himself could not name.
They all set their piercing gazes upon him.
And in the next breath, they charged.
When Drakion saw them, he only shook his head again—and stepped forward.
His aura surged like a true Devouring Dragon.
A bundle of flame, burning with eternal fury...
A bubble of water, rippling with pristine serenity...
A wooden branch, bearing a single vibrant leaf...
A radiant pillar of metal, upright and unyielding...
A lump of earth, dense and grounded with ancient might...
They appeared, and in the blink of an eye, it felt as though Drakion alone controlled nature—and with it, disaster struck the beasts.
Fire devoured parts of their bodies, refining them in their own rage.
Water flowed, wearing them down to death.
Wood coiled, squeezing them until their bones cracked and shattered.
Metal cut with a will, severing with cold purpose.
Earth swallowed, entombing them in its grasp until all movement ceased.
The beasts—mighty as they were—could not withstand Drakion. They were annihilated.
Yet the fury of the Heavens did not wane.
Drakion’s gaze lifted once more as he saw the Heavenly Dao pulse with an intense, ominous force.
Then, from the depths of the dark clouds, a figure emerged.
Drakion felt it—an overwhelming presence. He did not recognize this being, and was stunned that something like it could emerge from the clouds.
Until he realized...
It was made of lightning.
Another creation—like the beasts.
"Flame Art: Flame Ball."
Drakion lifted his forefinger, and the bundle of eternal flame surged into it. A small fireball, condensed with power, formed at the tip.
He hurled it.
The next moment—
BOOM!
A massive explosion erupted, a mushroom-shaped cloud surging into the sky. All across the Origin Continent, residents looked up in terror. Those closest to the blast felt the unbearable heat sweep over them.
Drakion, though caught in the center, stood untouched. One meter around him, the explosion dared not reach.
He gazed at the spot where the Heavenly Being had stood—it had been reduced to ash.
Still, the Heavens refused to yield.
Drakion’s brow furrowed.
Why?
Why were the Heavens so hell-bent on killing him?
Yes... now it was clear.
What Drakion had comprehended was a threat—something that stood on par with the Heavens, or perhaps... above.
They had to eliminate him. Before he became too powerful.
Two more human-like creatures emerged, even stronger than the last. Drakion could feel it.
But it didn’t matter.
He stepped forward again—and destroyed them.
Yet the Heavens sent more... and more.
Their intent was now undeniable.
They wanted Drakion erased—completely.
Drakion was shocked as he looked before him. He had eliminated countless of the creatures, yet now he was vexed by this. It was frustrating—why did the Heavens want to eliminate him?
His gaze swept forward and there, he saw them—a thousand-strong army, their forms unknown, yet unmistakably forged from lightning. Thousands of humanoid figures made entirely of divine thunder stood against him.
He frowned at the sight, and the next moment, he waved his hand. A five-colored wheel floated solemnly above him.
"You are truly forcing me, Heavens."
Ding!
[Activating Five-Element Dragon Bloodline]
Drakion partially transformed into the Five-Element Dragon. A five-colored crown adorned his small head as his aura surged violently.
Ding!
[Five-Element Dragon Art: Five-Element Breath]
He opened his small mouth, releasing a radiant breath of five-colored light. Dozens of enemies were instantly erased by that single exhale. Yet still, hundreds charged at him, relentless in their approach.
He stretched his hand forward. Originat tied to the five elements surged into his palm, converging into a violently spinning orb of energy. The air itself twisted in submission to its force.
"Devouring Art: Devourer Void Step!"
Drakion vanished—then reappeared above the horde. Without hesitation, he hurled the spinning orb at them.
"Five-Element Art: Genesis Sphere!"
The orb descended like a judgment from the gods, exploding amidst them and obliterating countless souls in its wrath.
"Five-Element Art: Elemental Convergence!"
The five-element Originat streamed into his left palm, compressing into a pulsating orb of power, five-colored and immense with untamed energy. Drakion hurled the orb again—this time, it struck with divine precision, and he vanished once more using Devourer Void Step.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion tore through the battlefield. Nearly all were reduced to nothing, fewer than a hundred remained. Drakion didn’t stop. Like a relentless tempest, he hunted the rest down and exterminated them without mercy.
But as he looked upward, he saw the Heavens still watching. The dark clouds had not dissipated. Their fury remained.
And that made him flare with rage.
CRACKLE! CRACKLE!
A/N: I was thinking—should I make all the Progenitor Heirs reincarnated from Earth, each with their own system? What do you think? If so, you’ll have the opportunity to name the Progenitor Heirs and decide which country or place they reincarnate from.
What do you all think?
