Rebirth: The unfavored Princess is the Tyrant King's favorite-Chapter 135: Nick or Nicholas 2
Nicholas vanished from the pathway and appeared in his bed chambers, as soon as he realized he was out of eyesight and his men couldn’t see him.
He gently lay Luciana on the bed as if she was a fragile glass.
’Oh, how he missed this feeling, the feeling of holding her so close in his arms, smelling her scent, and feeling the warmth of her skin in his arms.’
It’s been 2000 years, two millennia ago when she went lifeless, cold, and limp in his arms, and seeing her like this and unmoving again just when he was finally out and could touch her felt like torture.
He found a way to possess Nick’s body several days ago when Nick was still having a dream about the past, but after Nick woke up, anytime he tried to come out and talk to Luciana, it didn’t work.
Nick was strong-willed and even with his full power at its peak, he couldn’t take control of his body without him allowing it. Nick’s willpower was resilient, forcing his soul to stay in a corner and never allowing him to come to the surface.
If not for Nick’s anger and rage tonight that made him tap into his inner darkness and, by so doing, summon his inner strength, he wouldn’t have been able to take over his body.
As he paced the room, waiting for the physician to check on Luciana, he felt as if something was struggling within him and forcing itself to come out.
He knew it was Nick’s soul; he wanted to push his soul out again, but he couldn’t allow it. He missed Luciana and he didn’t want to stay in that corner of Nick’s brain that was full of darkness.
Being in that place was worse than when his soul was locked in the spiritual solitary confinement cell. Nicholas’ soul tried to fight Nick’s soul off, but it wasn’t working, and before he realized it, his knees buckled and his legs went soft, making him kneel on the carpet.
He clutched his chest in pain thinking Nick was a mad man for fighting against his own body and putting himself in pain just because he wanted to push him out.
He lifted his gaze only to find a reflection of himself in the mirror. His reflection looked angry. There was something about the reflection that made Nicholas realize it wasn’t his reflection. It was Nick’s soul.
’But how was that possible? His soul was inside him so why could he appear in the mirror?’
"I allow you to take over, and the next minute, she is unconscious. Is this how you protect her?" Nick growled, the reflection in the mirror looked menacing.
"It was a mistake, I didn’t mean to hurt her," Nicholas answered to the reflection in the mirror, his voice tinged with guilt.
"You always say that but you always end up hurting her. You don’t deserve her; go back to where you came from; I don’t need you," Nick spat, still furious.
"I know you’re confident about the future but you need me. For you to overcome this curse you must accept me, for only if you accept me will the seal placed on you since birth be broken. You will become stronger and take care of her better," Nicholas said but Nick sneered at his words.
"I’ll break the seal myself and I’ll protect her and break the curse on my own! I DON’T NEED YOU!" Nick insisted,
"Now return to wherever you came from and leave us alone," he added.
"I’m you, and you are me, we are one and the same. Two of us can’t exist in the same timeline, that’s why I chose to possess your body. I could have chosen a pregnant woman and be born again, but bad things would begin to happen if I did that. But if you accept me and allow our souls to merge, we will become one and more stronger. We are the same person after all... Just think about..."
Nick was listening to Nicholas speak but in the next moment, he found himself back in his body and in full control as if whatever just happened was his imagination.
He couldn’t feel Nicholas’ soul inside him, it had disappeared.
Before he could understand what was going on, a very beautiful man in red robes and a dog appeared before him.
Nick watched the man, who looked almost like a woman and had appeared out of thin air, and the fearsome dog that made him feel wary for some reason and unsheathed his sword, raising it at the man.
"Who are you?" He asked his defenses on high alert even though he knew his sword couldn’t do anything to the man. ’The man had literally appeared out of nowhere.’
"I’m sorry, dragon prince, I’m Lord Syreese. I didn’t mean to barge in here unannounced, but my hound caught the scent of the escaped prisoner here, and I had come to fetch him, but I think my hound must be mistaken," the man said respectfully.
The hellhound angrily barked at Nick, "Woof, woof," as if to protest to its master that it wasn’t mistaken.
Nick watched the man in confusion not understanding anything he was saying.
"What did you just call me?" He asked.
"Dragon prince," Lord Syreese said and Nicholas asked another question.
"Do you know about my past? Do you know the secrets surrounding my birth?"
Lord Syreese realized he had caused a mess. Could it be that this dragon prince has no idea of his lineage and he had come to run his mouth without taking permission from the dragon king?
’Oh no, he was in hot soup; the dragon king will have two reasons to kill him now. First, he couldn’t find the first dragon prince after staying in the shadows around the current dragon prince for several days.’
He had only decided to go out for some fun since he heard there was a banquet going on in the palace. Palace banquets were boring and he wanted lively places like the brothel and taverns.
Who knew that after roaming the capital and being far away from the palace, his hellhound would create a mind link and tell him to come immediately because it could sense the first dragon prince’s soul?
He had arrived and the soul couldn’t be traced again even though he had also smelled a faint scent of the first dragon prince.
The problem is that he had not only left his duty but he had also spilled the beans to the current dragon prince. It seems he couldn’t escape punishment today.
"Your Highness, eldest prince of Gloryland, please forget whatever I just said... I was just joking," Lord Syreese said and in the next moment, he had vanished together with the hellhound.
