Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Grandma Xin Is Angry

Tang Mo and his brother talked at length. And Feng Jiu feeling out of place, walked out.

Zhou Mian noticed her, and she immediately got out of the car.

"Feng Jiu," she called out and the girl stopped before walking to Zhou Mian who was leaning on the car.

"Miss Zhou," she greeted, to which Zhou Mian nodded in response.

"I would love to ask you a question and I will want you to give me an honest answer," Zhou Mian had a serious expression on her face as she stared at Feng Jiu with a profound look.

"Sure, you can ask me," Feng Jiu stood on one leg as she looked at Zhou Mian.

"Did you suffer any mistreatment while you treating Tang Jingsheng, I mean, does he treat you well?" Zhou Mian asked.

Feng Jiu was surprised. She was not expecting for Zhou Mian to ask such a question. What reply should she give her? She wanted to lie, but looking at her face, she realized that Zhou Mian had an idea about what was going on in the house.

Her body froze at the unexpected discovery she seemed to have discovered, "follow me," she beckoned as she directed her to an enclosed space.

*Li Qiang’s Mansion*

"My grandmother wants us to come home, I guess it should be relating to Cheng Luiying and my brother," Xin Yan informed as she read the text message her grandmother sent to her.

"Alright then, I do have dealings with the Zhang family, so it is only right for me to show up," Li Qiang agreed.

"Then, do we leave Chuxi and Meimei at home?" Xin Yan asked.

"It is only right they follow us, your grandparents haven’t met Chuxi in a while, and it will be the perfect to introduce Meimei to them," Li Qiang suggested, and she nodded, perfectly agreeing with him.

They got ready and drove to the Xins’ Old Residence.

While on the way, Li Chuxi informed Meimei about the grandparents and how nice they were. She and Meimei talked at length, and the couple were quite surprised as to how they bonded really fast.

If only they knew, well, it is not long before they know about it.

They finally reached the residence, and they all noticed the cars and Xin Yan concluded that the Zhang’s were already present at the house.

"Come on children, Meimei, I will introduce you to my grandparents and also my brother and his wife," Xin Yan said to the little girl who nodded with enthusiasm.

They walked into the house and the butler was one again surprised by the appearance of another child, she was used to the presence of Li Chuxi but now, another child was added to the mix, and she was confused.

She wondered if the couple were interested in adopting every kid they found.

"Xin Yan, who is this?" The butler asked, and Xin Yan smiled in return, not willing to respond.

"Where are they?" Xin Yan asked, even though she could hear voices from the living room. She wanted to change the topic. She did not feel comfortable being questioned.

The butler forced out a smile, she understood what Xin Yan did, "they are in the living room with the guests," she replied.

Xin Yan smiled at her before walking with the kids and Li Qiang, who gave a look of warning to the butler.

’Scary,’ the butler thought whine shivering slightly. This was the effect of Li Qiang’s presence.

Once they walked in, Xin Yan called out to her grandparents. She also noted that the Zhang’s were present. She could also tell that her sister-in-law was shy since she was the center of attention.

"Xin Yan, Li Qiang, you have arrived," Grandma Xin was the one who spoke as she beamed at the group, but her smile faded when she noticed an unfamiliar kid them, the kid naturally being Meimei.

"Who is she?" Grandma Xin questioned, and everyone’s eyes turned to them, expecting an answer from them.

"It is a long story Grandma, do not let the little girl feel improper, come on Meimei, these are my grandparents, this is my brother and his wife and these are her parents," Xin Yan swiftly introduced them to Meimei who nodded meekly.

Grandma Xin frowned. Having Li Chuxi was enough, now she wanted to add another kid. Xin Yan introducing them to the little girl was proof of what she planned to do.

"I want to discuss with you," Grandma Xin spoke through gritted teeth.

"Later grandma, we have guests to attend to," Xin Yan decided to ignore the anger in her grandmother’s eyes as she directly walked to her grandfather while holding Meimei.

"Grandpa, this is Meimei, I assure you will love her, just as you love Li Chuxi," Xin Yan personally introduced the little girl to Grandpa Xin who was more than happy to have her.

"Grandpa," Meimei called out sweetly, after all, this was her grandfather, she did not see anything wrong in addressing him in such a manner.

After the introduction, the family sat at the table for lunch. After lunch, they all sat in the living room as Xin Yi narrated everything which had happened Cheng Luiying.

The kids happened to be in the playroom, as the adults felt they were still so young to listen in on the conversation.

Mrs. Zhang almost lost control of her emotions, but with her husband beside her, he was able to calm her down. It will not be nice to have her crying at such a place.

"What measures are you going to take against her?" Xin Yan asked, she was naturally referring to Mrs. Cheng.

"She will rot in jail, she separated my baby from me; therefore, she needs to pay for it," Mrs. Zhang was firm in her words, and they all nodded, thoroughly agreeing with her.

"Sister-in-law, what do you think about it? This concerns you, you should also have a say in it," Xin Yan asked for Cheng Luiying’s opinion.

Cheng Luiying smiled at Xin Yan, grateful that someone was actually concerned about how she felt.

"You can do whatever you deem fit with her, she is in the wrong, she has always been in the wrong, what we need to do is find the nurse because I believe this was a big conspiracy," Cheng Luiying aired her opinion.

"Yingying is right, things just doesn’t feel right, the appearance of the nurse is quite baffling," Xin Yi frowned as he recalled every single word which Mrs. Cheng had recounted to them.

The atmosphere suddenly became silent as the air was thick with a heavy tension.

"It is good that she can acknowledge her roots, not everyone is that fortunate, and they end up dying without knowing the truth," Li Qiang spoke, and his words seemed to ease the tension.

"That aside, Li Qiang, Xin Yan, who was that little girl who accompanied you both? This is a family occasion, and we only desire family members here," each of grandma Xin’s words stabbed into Xin Yan’s heart.

"Grandma, I respect you, it is something we both know, Meimei accompanying us signifies only one thing and I believe you are aware of it," each of Xin Yan’s words were firm as she stared straight into her grandmother’s eyes.

The air which had become lighter previously suddenly became tense as both grandma and granddaughter stared into each other’s eyes without backing down.

The other members of the family all held their breaths, fearing to even breath because the situation between them was almost getting out of hand.

Li Qiang sensed that the situation was about to go out of hand, so he stood up to mediate.

"Actually grandma, I was the one who found Meimei, she was just released from the hospital as a matter of fact, Xin Yan being worried, could not leave her at the mansion, so we both decided to bring her along," Li Qiang explained.

It was his fault, as a matter of fact. If he had known that the little girl was allergic to dates, things would not have spiraled out of control this way. But deep within himself, he knew the excuse he gave was wrong and not the real truth.

Just as he felt a strong bond with Li Chuxi, he was also felt the same bond with Meimei and if he were to be separated from her, he did not know if he could live.

Yet again, he could not understand why he had such feelings towards the two girls. And he was sure he was not the only one who felt the same way.

Xin Yan was even more protective than he was towards the kids. This was evident with the way she behaved when her grandmother said some awful things against Meimei.

Grandma Xin retracted her aura when she heard his words.

She looked towards Xin Yan who still had her protective stance on and she sighed.

"You should have informed me," Grandma Xin sighed.
