Rebirth Swapped Bride; Married to the Ruthless Cursed Billionaire-Chapter 334: whether it’s the bracelet or my feelings—if you don’t like them, you can throw them away.
Chapter 334: whether it’s the bracelet or my feelings—if you don’t like them, you can throw them away.
In the dining room of the western villa,
"Fanny,"
Grandma Calvin kept serving the Spoon pile of food onto Tiffany’s plate—all her favorite dishes—with a gentle, affectionate expression.
"Eat more."
She genuinely adored this well-behaved girl.
Calvin wasn’t getting any younger. It’d be wonderful if he could settle down soon.
"Thank you, Grandma."
Tiffany ate obediently, but unlike usual, there was no bright-eyed laughter lighting up her face.
Calvin ladled a bowl of sweet soup for her—the kind she always loved.
"Thanks."
Her voice was soft, but she avoided meeting his eyes.
Nor did she take a sip.
There was a quiet, almost fragile composure about her now, edged with something colder.
Even Grandma.
Calvin sensed something amiss.
She glanced sideways at her grandson, her questioning gaze demanding answers.
"Why is Fanny upset?
Did you do something to upset her?
Hurry up and make it right!"
Calvin’s lips twitched slightly, his eyes lifting with a complicated glint.
Fanny’s reaction proved she wasn’t entirely indifferent to him.
Yet, he had no idea how to explain that what she’d overheard wasn’t what she thought.
Dinner lacked its usual warmth.
After finishing the food Grandma Calvin had served her, Tiffany set down her Spoon.
The elderly woman immediately fretted, "Why are you eating so little?"
"Grandma Calvin, I’m full," Tiffany replied softly, meeting the old woman’s gaze.
"Calvin’s injuries have mostly healed, so I should get back to my own work.
Thank you for taking care of me these past few days." Her sweet voice, as gentle as ever, carried no trace of emotion.
Hearing the firmness in her tone, Grandma Calvin shot a pointed look at Calvin.
His eyes darkened slightly, but words failed him.
Calvin had no right to demand she stay by his side.
"I’ll drive you home."
Tiffany instinctively wanted to decline, but knowing how hard it was to catch a cab here, she nodded reluctantly.
"Thanks for the trouble."
"Thank you."
"Thanks for the trouble."
A faint bitterness flickered deep in Calvin’s eyes.
So formal.
Seeing her grandson agree so readily, Grandma.
Calvin sighed inwardly.
She reached out and gently took Tiffany’s hand.
"Fanny, since this is our first meeting, and I didn’t prepare a proper gift, please accept this bracelet instead."
As she spoke, the elderly woman slipped the bracelet off her own wrist and onto Tiffany’s slender, fair one.
"It’s a bit old, but I hope you won’t mind."
"I can’t accept this, Grandma."
Even if Tiffany were Calvin’s real girlfriend, she wouldn’t dare take something so valuable, let alone as a fake one.
"Just meeting someone as kind as you is more than enough for me.
I don’t need a gift—please take it back."
She immediately moved to remove the bracelet and return it to Grandma Calvin.
"A gift from elders cannot be refused," Grandma. Calvin tightened her grip on Tiffany’s hand, stopping her from pulling away.
"Our sweet Tiffany is such a good girl—you wouldn’t do anything to break this old woman’s heart, would you?"
She furrowed her brows, feigning hurt.
"Or perhaps you think this bracelet of mine is too old-fashioned? That you don’t like it?"
Grandma.
Calvin was no ordinary woman.
With just those few words, she had completely cut off any chance of Tiffany refusing.
"Of course not! It’s just—"
Tiffany floundered, unsure how to respond.
Her wide, glistening eyes darted to Calvin in a silent plea.
Calvin knew full well that once his grandmother gave something, she would never take it back.
A faint smile touched his lips as he said gently to Tiffany,
"Since Grandma’s offering it, you should accept it."
Tiffany: " She had wanted Calvin to talk his grandmother out of it—not talk *her* into it.
"Alright."
At this point, Tiffany had no choice but to accept.
"Thank you, Grandma Calvin."
She decided to take it for now and return it to Calvin later, asking him to pass it back to Grandma Calvin when the opportunity arose.
Grandma Calvin nodded in satisfaction before turning to Jey beside her.
"Fetch my phone for me."
"Yes." Jey hurried upstairs and returned with Grandma Calvin’s phone.
Holding it up, Grandma Calvin opened the Whatsapp interface and extended it toward Tiffany.
"Fanny, help Grandma add your contact," she said with a warm smile.
"That way, if I miss you, I won’t have to go through this rascal to reach you."
As someone from an older generation, she preferred written messages and had little interest in modern gadgets.
But to keep her future granddaughter-in-law’s contact, she was willing to adapt to the younger generation’s way of connecting. Missing her?
If Grandma Calvin knew that she and Calvin were just putting on an act, she would surely be heartbroken.
But at this point, there was no way she could refuse the old lady.
Indeed, lies were the hardest things to keep up with in this world.
An hour later, Calvin drove Tiffany away from the villa in the western part of the city. The entire ride, Tiffany gazed out the window in silence.
Calvin’s slender, pale fingers gripped the steering wheel, absently tracing its edge.
"Fanny—"
His voice cut through the quiet air in the car.
"The Calvin family situation is... complicated.
What I said in the living room earlier—don’t read too much into it."
Tiffany’s red lips curved into a faint, indifferent smile.
"We’re not actually in a relationship.
I won’t misunderstand anything, and you don’t need to explain yourself to me."
As she spoke, she struggled to slide the bracelet off her wrist.
"And this—please find a chance to return it to your Grandma for me."
She knew all too well—sometimes, sweet dreams could be crueler than nightmares.
Waking from a nightmare brings relief, but waking from a sweet dream only leaves emptiness.
Her soft, hesitant words made Calvin’s dark pupils constrict.
His strikingly handsome face clouded with faint displeasure.
That eagerness to distance herself from him churned an inexplicable irritation in his chest.
When Calvin remained silent,
Tiffany carefully wrapped the bracelet in a handkerchief and placed it in the storage compartment beside her.
"I’ve left the bracelet here.
Don’t forget—"
Before she could finish, the car screeched to a halt as Calvin abruptly braked and pulled over.
His obsidian eyes locked onto her with unsettling intensity.
Calvin had intended to take things slow, but Fanny clearly had other ideas.
To spare her further unease, it was better to lay things bare now.
Under that piercing gaze, Tiffany’s long lashes fluttered slightly, her heartbeat accelerating beyond control.
She had no idea what this man was thinking—or what he was about to do.
"H-Calvin—"
"That bracelet was a gift from my Grandma.
If you don’t like it, just throw it away."
His voice dropped lower, the smoldering weight of his stare pinning her in place like an invisible vise.
"Same here."
His usually lazy and indifferent tone was uncharacteristically serious as he spoke each word deliberately.
"Fanny, whether it’s the bracelet or my feelings—if you don’t like them, you can throw them away.
That’s your right."
Calvin’s words were an indirect confession, a plea for an answer.
If she nodded, he would never bother her again.
*Throw them away if I don’t like them?*
His words sent a tremor through Tiffany’s beautiful eyes, her heartbeat racing wildly.
Around him, she always felt this tangled mess of emotions, completely at a loss for how to respond.
