Rebirth: Revenge of the abandoned heirress-Chapter 86: I’m at the fashion show
Chapter 86 - I'm at the fashion show
Sebastian smiled after listening to Jazmine Harris's proclamation. He wanted to say something, but just then, he received multiple messages. He picked up his phone and glanced at the screen.
"I have to go and take care of an office matter for now." He looked frustrated. It had been a long time since he had a true reunion with his Jazmine, and he didn't want to leave her side. "Elias has messed up some things. He still has a lot to learn."
"It's alright. I also have to leave to attend the fashion show anyway." Jazmine Harris understood how busy he was. It was already commendable that he had found enough time to spend the whole day with her.
"Do you want me to drop you off?"
"There's no need. I don't want to delay you. Besides, it would be best if we keep our relationship secret for now. I'm still married, and rumors might not be good for my company..."
Suddenly, Jazmine felt the temperature drop and glanced at Sebastian. She saw that his face was darkening. She almost gulped. She needed to be careful around him. She still remembered how possessive he could be. What she couldn't understand was how he had ever let her marry David in the first place.
If he were the same Sebastian Crowne she remembered, he would have killed David a thousand times by now.
"Are you scared of rumors?" The temperature continued to drop as he spoke. "You don't need to care about that. I'm very interested to see who, in the whole of mainland, would dare to say something about me and you... and make my Jazmine worry."
Dark clouds seemed to hover over him, and the mere look in his eyes was enough to make one feel oppressed.
Jazmine didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She felt pity for those who would face his wrath, but at the same time... she felt weirdly happy.

"Of course! I would never doubt your influence!" Jazmine coughed and quickly tried to mediate the situation. "How about this? After the fashion show ends, you take me to see Frank?" She gave him a bright smile.
Her smile was effective—it softened him. Finally, the temperature stopped dropping.
"Good. I'll pick you up at nine."
Jazmine sighed in relief.
"If anyone tries to bully you, just give me a call." Sebastian reached out and patted Jazmine's head.
Jazmine: "..."
She was at a loss, not knowing what to say. She dumbly stared at him. Before she could do anything, he laughed at her reaction and strode out of the penthouse without looking back.
"You're a grown man. And you still do childish things like that?"
Jazmine remembered that he used to have an obsession with patting her head back then. She always glared at him when he did that—but secretly, she liked it. She laughed.
"I wonder what people would think if they found out that the great 'Devil' has such a cute side to him."
Like Sebastian had said before, the side he showed her was completely different from the side he showed the whole world.
Thinking about it, Jazmine smiled. She felt lucky to be able to witness this side of the great President Crowne.
Breaking out of her thoughts, Jazmine picked up a package from the couch. Earlier that day, Sebastian, being thoughtful, had asked his secretary to deliver a dress for her.
Sebastian had already shown her around the penthouse, so she easily found the bathroom. She took a quick bath and slipped into the dress. Surprisingly, its fabric was very soft, and it fit her perfectly.
"No, you didn't do that..." Jazmine laughed as she curiously inspected the tag on the dress. "Of course, it's President Crowne. Affording such expensive things wouldn't even make him bat an eye."
Since the fashion show had already started by the time she left, Jazmine had to properly prepare. She applied some makeup and wore the jewelry that had been sent with the dress. Jazmine didn't care about such things, but as the President of Davenport Enterprises, she had to maintain her image.
It was a duty more than a hobby.
When Jazmine reached the foot of Sunset Square, a luxurious car was already waiting for her.
'So thoughtful.'
Jazmine climbed into the car and checked her phone. There were a few messages from Xiu Mei, about ten messages from Amelia, and two messages from Frank.
"Where are you, President?"
"Why didn't you come back to the hotel?"
"We're worried about your safety. Please inform us where you are."
Jazmine felt guilty and quickly replied to Emilu, letting her know she was alright and on her way back.
But when she opened Amelia's message, her head went numb.
"Stop the car!"
The driver was startled by Jazmine's sudden outburst and quickly hit the brakes. Without any explanation, Jazmine climbed out of the car. The vehicle had just exited the skyscraper.
Jazmine walked down the road and reached a garage.
"There you are."
With a smile that wasn't exactly happy, she walked toward Amelia's van and pushed open the door forcefully.
"Ma'am, you—"
The driver glanced at Jazmine but fell silent when he saw who she was—and how terrifying her expression looked.
Inside the van, both Frank and Amelia were sound asleep. Frank was even snoring.
Jazmine looked into the car and, after some contemplation, closed the door. She stepped away, leaned against a nearby wall, and called Amelia.
After the fourth ring, she finally picked up.
"Jazmine...?"
"Where are you?" Jazmine's voice was cold.
"At the fashion show, of course. Why do you ask?"
Amelia quickly shook Frank, trying to wake him. He only shrugged her off.
"Are you sure you're at the fashion show?"
"Y-Yes...?"
"And what if you're not?"
"Jazmine, why are you asking such absurd questions? If I'm not at the fashion show, then where else would I be—"
Before she could finish, the van door was pushed open.
"You were saying?" Jazmine raised an eyebrow.
