Rebirth: Revenge of the abandoned heirress-Chapter 11: To be eradicated
Chapter 11 - To be eradicated
After what felt like a long time, but was only a few seconds, Jazamine said.
"I know, it was not your purpose, Violet. I was just explaining to you your colleagues' perspective. Since you are young and ambitious, you should keep in mind that forming good relationships with your seniors is important too. But since you prioritized the company over your personal profit, even though it was not your motive, I won't forget this act of yours."
"As for the upcoming revolt, I understand your concerns. But please take in mind that since I took such strict steps, I must have expected this outcome. And since I expected this outcome, I might have a method to counter it."
'This President... She is really something.' Violet was bewitched.
"You may now leave." Jazamine's smile became even more pronounced as she said.
"Y-Yes, President." Only now, Violet realized she had been staring at her President longer than normal. Blushing furiously, she fled the office.
Once the door closed, Jazamine broke her professional stance and laughed lightly. "That Violet... really..."
With a genuine smile, Jazamine busied herself with details of the ongoing projects.
The evening had arrived when Emily brought Jazamine a cup of freshly made coffee.
"President Jazamine. There is a problem..."
Jazamine paused reading the documents. "What now?"
"The head of our finance department... he suddenly resigned."
"Reasons?"
"He declined to state. And simply wrote 'Personal Problems.'"
"Do you have any idea why he resigned?" Jazamine glanced up at Emily.
After some hesitation, Emily said. "No President."
'Emily, is it really because you don't know that it was David behind this... Or is it because you don't want to implicate David in front of me?' Jazamine thought with dejection.
"Fine then." Jazamine closed her documents. "Since this is an important position, we will run interviews tomorrow for the spot."
Jazamine dismissed Emily. She recalled for what specific 'personal reasons' their ten years serving Financier resigned.
'Alas! The last financial department head was a loyal subject. He had only resigned because he was forced by David. I... had dragged behind a step and failed to provide him security and keep him in the company. But... Not everything is lost. Since I know what David's next move is going to be. I can still be at advantage.'
The next day.
Jazmine had expected a revolt. But it felt like Osbert had not yet stirred enough waves to cause a tsunami.
The day went normally.
Most of the time, Jazmine reviewed and updated the company's policies and brought reforms.
After finishing the policies, Jazmine opened the drawer and grabbed out the detailed profiles of those five people that were her targets.
The first name was Victor Smith.
"Victor Smith, the family master of the Smith household. Other than the Tang family, he had the major shares in the overall conglomerate. In my last life, he was the major chess piece in David's game. Victor Smith, since you were the first one to wag your tail in front of David last time, you would be the first one I eradicate this time."
Later that day, candidates started to arrive at her office for interviews.
"Corey Nielson... So you are the one recommended by David?" Jazamine briefly glanced at the recommendation letter. Corey Nielson was the third candidate Jazamine interviewed.
Jazamine had sent back others after hearing just two to three lines from them.
"Yes, President." The middle-aged man had a harmless, amiable smile. "President already knew about me. Did David mention me?"

"Of course he did. He took a long time praising your competency and loyalty."
Jazmine's eyes were like a pool of cold water. Her face was masked with nonchalance.
