Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me!-Chapter 470: The Boss’s Confession
It’s just... if she doesn’t get a divorce, how can she let Elias Sinclair and Melody Shepherd be together? 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
With Mrs. Sinclair’s attitude, even if she wants to stay by Elias’s side, she wouldn’t allow it, right?
"Forget it." Elias Sinclair saw Quinn Lockwood avoiding his gaze and not answering the question, instantly filled with a sense of loss.
"If you’re unwilling, I won’t force you."
The man lifted his hand, wanting to grasp Quinn Lockwood’s small hand hanging by her side. Seeing her eyes still avoiding his, unsure if he should continue, he paused in mid-air.
After hesitating for a brief moment, Elias Sinclair still wrapped Quinn Lockwood’s small hand entirely in his palm, his voice clear and gentle: "I’ll wait."
"Wait for the day you truly want to stay by my side."
The man’s voice was very soft, like gently plucking a string on a well-tuned guqin. Though it only emitted a faint sound, it was low and melodious, touching one’s heart.
At this moment, in the hospital room, the curtains were tightly drawn, with not a sliver of sunlight seeping in. Yet, Quinn Lockwood felt as if Elias Sinclair was enveloped in a warm glow, his eyes and brows full of tender affection, exuding a warmth that could melt ice.
Quinn Lockwood met the man’s gaze, and in an instant, she froze.
She saw it.
Saw the overflowing love from Elias Sinclair’s usually calm and deep eyes.
He... could it be...
Could it be that the one he loves is me?
Quinn Lockwood could hardly believe her eyes. She quickly looked away, then tried again to meet the man’s eyes to decipher the uncertain feelings.
This time, Quinn Lockwood felt herself completely enveloped. She was already surrounded by Elias Sinclair’s tender affection and overwhelming love.
The man’s large hand tightly held Quinn Lockwood’s, as if transmitting a certain resolute strength to her, making it easy for Quinn Lockwood to sense how serious Elias Sinclair was at this moment.
Quinn Lockwood looked at Elias Sinclair, seeming to expect her next response.
Recalling all the moments shared with Elias Sinclair since her rebirth, from initially not getting along to now sharing hardships, Quinn Lockwood felt the heavy cloud in her heart suddenly clear.
Yet... every time those scandalous photos of her were taken by someone with ulterior motives, she couldn’t forget the suspicious and scrutinizing looks Elias Sinclair gave her, nor the harsh questions.
"Elias Sinclair, didn’t you say you didn’t like me, didn’t you say you found me false and disgusting?" Quinn Lockwood’s eyes were red. She wasn’t upset because of past unpleasant memories but because she felt she was about to give Elias back to another woman.
"Now that Maya is back, I, the one who has always annoyed you, can clearly disappear from your world, but..."
"But why are you still being good to me? Don’t you know that this will make me..."
"Make me increasingly greedy for and attached to everything now, unwilling to leave you!" A tear silently slid down Quinn Lockwood’s face, carrying feelings beyond verbal expression.
Her voice was somewhat choked, and she struggled to suppress the overwhelming sadness to barely finish her sentence.
Upon hearing Quinn Lockwood’s words, Elias Sinclair’s previously dimmed eyes instantly brightened, filled with unconcealed joy.
He seemingly forgot about his injuries, using the hand with the IV drip to prop himself up, trying to sit up. The pain from the needle in his hand made him frown slightly.
"Be careful, don’t move around." Quinn Lockwood quickly turned her body to support Elias Sinclair’s shoulder, trying to get him to lie down, but was pulled directly into his arms by his strong hand.
"Savannah Lowell, listen carefully, I’ll only say this once." His tone was gentle yet as domineering as usual, every word was clear and powerful.
"I love you."
The cautious whisper seemed to dissipate instantly into the air, but Quinn Lockwood heard it clearly.
Time seemed to freeze at that moment. If it weren’t for the gentle rise and fall of his chest and the light sound of his breathing, she would have thought it was all her imagination.
Just now... Elias Sinclair confessed to me, right?
"You like me too, right? Otherwise, why would you say you’re unwilling to leave me?" The man held Quinn Lockwood tightly in his arms, not caring about the wound on his side.
Quinn Lockwood could hardly believe what had just happened. Her head rested against his chest, and despite the thick clothing and bandage, she could easily hear his strong and steady heartbeat.
So fast.
She had never heard Elias Sinclair’s heartbeat this fast before.
He must be nervous too...
Quinn Lockwood looked up at Elias Sinclair, his handsome and delicate face now bathed in tender hues, his long and deep eyes gleaming with an inviting brilliance, like the fragmented clear water on the vast, blue sea.
"Yes, I like you, very much, very much." Quinn Lockwood’s fair face flushed lightly, her long and curled eyelashes trembled slightly with each blink, just like her fingertips which shook slightly from nervousness.
Elias Sinclair’s smile became even more apparent, even revealing his white teeth for a rare moment.
He grasped Quinn Lockwood’s trembling fingertips, letting out a soft laugh from his lips.
"Do you know how long I’ve waited for you to say that?" The man’s broad and warm hands gently caressed the back of her head, seemingly unconcerned that the IV line might cause him more pain.
If, at first, Elias Sinclair felt pleased because Quinn Lockwood showed concern for him, now it completely felt like a sea of flowers blooming under a spring sky.
The man’s voice was clean and pure, still somewhat low but enchanting, and those intimate whispers by her ear revealed all his deep love for Quinn Lockwood.
"I... I don’t know, but I’ve kept these words in my heart for a long time." Quinn Lockwood allowed his hand to stroke her head.
She felt as if she were a dandelion in bloom, ready to lift off with the slightest breeze.
His warm and cold breath hovered around her, and the hand that had been on her head moved to her waist.
