Chapter 34

Ye Yunxi chuckled and rapped on the car bonnet, suggesting, “I’ll win a race for you, and we split the cash prize 50-50. How about that?”

Sun Chao paused for a moment and looked hesitantly at Ye Yunxi. He had never seen her around here and didn’t know her at all. What did she want exactly?

Besides, she had a better car than he did. If she weren’t here for the money, then she must be here for the thrill of it?

“Yo, Sun Chao, are you here to give us all more money?

From afar, peals of laughter rang out as a few youths ambled up to them.

One of them was a handsome youth; however, he seemed disinterested in what was going on and was plugged into his earphones and had his attention elsewhere.

“How can you say that… What do you mean by giving us more money? We are helping him polish his skills. It’s school fees, shouldn’t he be paying his dues?”

“Young man, you should be grateful we’re willing to play along with you!”

“That’s right. Do you think our Young Master Ming entertains just anybody?”

They continued to raise up the guy plugged into his earphones and wouldn’t stop putting Sun Chao down.

Sun Chao’s expression turned ugly as he looked at Young Master Ming.

He had started dabbling with cars because of Ming Siye—one of the more renowned members of the Sword of the Empire. Sun Chao thought gaining the man’s favor might put himself in good stead to make it into the list of the Sword of the Empire!

Besides, he worked hard continually to put himself in a better position.

Obviously, it was not easy to get into the circle of the Sword of the Empire.

“Hey, who’s this? A newbie?”

They finally noticed Ye Yunxi.

“Why, Sun Chao, have you brought someone to suffer in your place?”

“Hahaha, it doesn’t matter who. As long as they bring us money, we’ll welcome them!”

Amidst the touches of laughter, Ye Yunxi smiled and raised a thumb at all of them. Then, she turned it upside down.

“Go to hell!”

A provoking gesture from such a pretty face. Ye Yunxi lifted her head languidly, her metal accessories chiming crisply as they knocked into each other.

“Ding! Awesomeness EXP +10!”

Freaking hell. This guy was provoking them!

Did he not see who was there in front of him!

“Young Master Ming, this guy is asking for it!”

Ming Siye, who was looking elsewhere initially, now took off his earphones and turned his gaze towards them casually.

He was a good-looking young man who gave an impression of being a floaty, ethereal spirit. He gazed at them with an expression that seemed to suggest that nothing mattered to him. Until his eyes fell on Ye Yunxi.

She was still smiling provocatively when his dark eyes shifted onto her with such force that it made her burn with indignation.

“I hear that today’s wager is 500 thousand?”

Ming Siye became utterly interested. Having someone come to challenge a member of the Sword of the Empire was a real novelty.

“That’s right, Young Master Ming!”

“Hey, little fellow, if you win tonight, I’ll add 100 thousand on top.”

He was in charge here, and he had run the circuit for six years now. He knew the course like the back of his own hand. Nothing escaped his eye. This newbie whom he had never seen before actually had the guts to challenge him?

“But if you lose…” Ming Siye cocked his head to the side and thought for a moment. “You have to leave your arm here for me.”

He pointed to Ye Yunxi’s arm that was raised in that rude gesture. One had to pay for provoking a member of the Sword of the Empire.

“Ha, Young Master Ming, this is a good idea!”

“That’s right. Otherwise, we’ll get people to do this all the time. We’ll have to sacrifice one as a warning to the rest!”

The lackeys got excited, and this time, they looked at Ye Yunxi as if they were staring at a loser with a severed arm!

Sun Chao, however, looked anxious as he glanced at Ye Yunxi.

“Hey, let’s forget it. You should go. You won’t be able to beat them at it. They’ve been around for six years; this must be your first time here, right? You won’t win at this.”
