Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife-Chapter 384: Doctor Sherlyn agreed to take your mother’s case
Later that evening, Eveline visited Sherlyn's clinic just as she finished attending to a patient.
"I'm sorry to keep you waiting. Come, have a seat," Sherlyn apologized politely, gesturing toward the chair.
"It's okay, Aunt Sherlyn. I know you're busy with your patients," Eveline replied, unfazed. She understood that Sherlyn wasn't an ordinary person.
Sherlyn smiled knowingly and looked at Eveline.
"You know, your words really got to your uncle. He was sulking on the phone after I declined him because of you," Sherlyn said with an amused smile.
"He shouldn't be. I already warned him that tonight was mine, and he should find something else to do in the meantime," Eveline replied with a nonchalant shrug.
"Still, I doubt he'll let us be, especially since I've been neglecting him for a while," Sherlyn added matter-of-factly.
Eveline glanced around for a few seconds before Sherlyn's voice drew her attention back.
"So, what brings you here?" Sherlyn asked, seizing Eveline's focus.
"Ah, actually, I wanted to ask about a patient name Valeria Lee."
Sherlyn furrowed her brows in confusion, but after a moment, she recalled discussing Valeria's case with Kaden. Suddenly, everything started to make sense.
"What do you want to know about her?" she asked skeptically, studying Eveline's expression.
"Everything. But first, I want to know what she looks like," Eveline specified, making her primary interest clear before diving into the details.
Sherlyn had no idea why Eveline was so curious about Valeria, but knowing her well enough by now, she understood that Eveline wasn't someone who got intrigued by people without reason.
Turning to her drawer, Sherlyn pulled out Valeria's file and handed it to Eveline.
Eveline quickly flipped it open, and the moment her eyes landed on the photo inside, her suspicions were confirmed.
She continued scanning through the pages, carefully reviewing Valeria's medical history.
Eveline heaved a sigh, looking at Sherlyn in disbelief.

"How long has it been since they contacted you?" she asked.
"Not too long, just the day before yesterday," Sherlyn replied.
Curiosity gnawed at her. Eveline's sudden interest in this woman was unusual, and when she couldn't hold back any longer, she finally asked, "Why do you want to know about her?"
"Because I happened to stumble upon her, and the doctor who examined her told me about her condition," Eveline said, leaning back in her seat.
"At the time, I didn't think much of it. I assumed her family was aware of her situation and that she had simply lost her way due to her state. But later that day, when I called the doctor to check on her, he told me her family had taken her away right after I left and also express them to refrain from keeping any of her details in their database"
Eveline explained everything, the lingering doubt in her heart now solidifying into certainty. She had a gut feeling about this woman, but she never expected her instincts to be proven right.
Sherlyn, on the other hand, was highly impressed by Eveline. Her quick-witted nature was remarkable.
"So, is there anything I can do to help?" Sherlyn asked without hesitation.
Eveline shot Sherlyn an amused look. "No wonder I like you, Aunt Sherlyn. You're way smarter than my uncle."
Sherlyn chuckled at the playful remark before turning her attention to Eveline's request.
"I doubt she's being physically abused, but there's no record of it in her medical history," Eveline said.
"How do you—" Sherlyn began, but Eveline quickly cut in.
"I saw it myself. She had bruises and some scars," Eveline confirmed.
Sherlyn pondered over her words. "I'm supposed to meet her tomorrow. But according to her family's request, they want me to attend to her at their house instead of my clinic," she stated, immediately catching Eveline's attention.
"I don't think the woman is in the right state of mind, but I trust you with her," Eveline said before pausing as a memory surfaced.
"She was begging them not to hurt her… pleading to be let go when she had a panic attack. That only confirms my suspicion that she's being forcefully kept by her family," she muttered, locking eyes with Sherlyn.
"She's definitely not safe there either," Eveline added.
She had no idea why Valeria Lee intrigued her so much, but for some reason, she felt compelled to help the woman.

After being missing for two days, Jedrick finally graced the house with his presence late that night.
Mischelle wouldn't have normally cared, but curiosity got the better of her. Where had he been? And why hadn't he checked on her even once?
"Why haven't you slept yet?" Jedrick asked, watching Mischelle still awake.
"Where have you been?" she countered, ignoring his question.
Jedrick chuckled in response. "Since when do my whereabouts concern you?" His smile stretched into amusement.
"Don't tell me you're claiming your rights as my wife now."
Mischelle scoffed. "Don't flatter yourself. That's never going to happen. We might be husband and wife, but I will never accept you."
She made her stance crystal clear, but that didn't stop Jedrick from regarding her with amusement.
"Then why ask about my whereabouts?" he prodded.
"Because your men have no decency. They barge into a woman's room without permission," she spat, making Jedrick frown in confusion.
"I permitted them. That should be enough," he said coolly. "But next time, if anyone tries to enter, I'll pluck their eyes out."
Jedrick's lips twitched. Memories of Mischelle from the past flashed through his mind.
She was just as fiery then as she was now-unyielding, defiant, and unwilling to bend to his demands.
Mischelle hated how Jedrick refused to look away. His gaze disgusted her to the point that she wanted to shoot him.
"You still haven't changed, Mischelle. Still fiery, huh?" he muttered, his eyes boring into her face, now flushed with anger.
"And you still disgust me, Jedrick," she snapped. "I'm only tolerating you because I don't want you to hurt my daughter."
"Our daughter," Jedrick corrected instantly.
Mischelle chuckled, finding his words laughable.
"I doubt that," she said, her voice laced with disdain. "You never even knew she existed. This sudden fatherly love, it's only because you need an heir to carry on your bloodline. Am I right?"
Jedrick's eyes flickered. "Yes, you're right. But that still doesn't change the fact that she is mine. Whether you like it or not, she always will be."
His words ignited Mischelle's fury, but he didn't wait for her response. Without another glance, he stepped into the bathroom.
Mischelle hated having him around, but ever since their marriage, he had insisted on sharing the same room.
As she continued to glare daggers at the bathroom door, Jedrick's phone, resting on the bedside table, suddenly pinged with a message.
Her eyes flicked to the screen.
