Chapter 556: 147: Reminder for Li Ronghua to go to Doctor Wang’s house_5
Ni Chenggui listened very seriously, also filled with yearning.
She wondered when her daughter could take her abroad for a trip.
Unfortunately, this was a wish that could never be fulfilled.
Ni Cuihua continued, “We took a lot of photos. After dinner, Sister Chenggui, you can come to my room to look at them.”
“Sure.” Ni Chenggui nodded eagerly.
Despite planning to watch TV in Ni Cuihua’s room after dinner, Ni Chenggui voluntarily washed the dishes. Ni Yang had worked hard to cook the meal; it was only right that she cleaned up.
Having washed the dishes, Ni Chenggui went to Ni Cuihua’s room, where Ni Cuihua showed her the photos they had taken in M Country.
“Oh my, these foreigners are so open-minded! There are so many people on the beach, and they just dress like this?”
“Yes, there are even more revealing outfits.”
“Huh, Xiaomo went with you to M Country too?” Ni Chenggui noticed a photo of Mo Qishen and Ni Yang posing together in front of a castle.
Ni Cuihua shook her head, “Xiaomo didn’t go with us. He works in M Country.”
Ni Chenggui continued to exclaim, “Yangyang’s mom, just look at Xiaomo and Yangyang together. They are such a perfect match, looking just like a wedding portrait. They are even more charming than the movie stars on television. You not only gave birth to a good daughter but also found a great son-in-law.”
Ni Chenggui truly envied Ni Cuihua, and at the same time, she felt fortunate to have met Ni Yang and her mother on the train that day.
Otherwise, her life would have been different.
When Ni Chenggui was about to go to bed, Ni Cuihua handed her a gift box, “Sister Chenggui, this is a gift Yangyang bought for you.”
“Yangyang is too polite, she brought me a gift!”
“Sister Chenggui, we are indebted to you for helping us settle in Beijing.” Ni Cuihua held Ni Chenggui’s hand.
If they hadn’t met Ni Chenggui on the train, they would have been homeless when they first arrived in Beijing.
Ni Chenggui replied, “Yangyang’s mother, it’s because you two are good people that people accepted you so quickly.” Many people from out of town wanted to settle down in Jinghua Village, but they all failed.
After a pause, Ni Chenggui added, “Yangyang is really a good child. If she were my daughter, I’d wake up from my dreams laughing.”
Ni Cuihua continued, “Sister Chenggui, Chunhua married and lives so far away. Haven’t you ever thought about finding someone? At your age, you could still have another child.”
Having lived with Ni Chenggui for more than a year, Ni Cuihua had come to regard her as her own sister. Seeing Ni Chenggui so lonely truly pained Ni Cuihua.
As a single mother herself, she understood that Ni Chenggui had not had it easy, and yet Ni Chenggui was only 46 years old. What would she do when she grew old if she continued to live alone?
Although society was conservative in those days, there were still many women who remarried.
Ni Chenggui sighed, “Finding someone isn’t so simple. If you meet someone unsuitable, you are better off alone.” After her husband’s death, she was introduced to several men, none of whom were suitable.
Gradually, Ni Chenggui stopped thinking about these things. With Ni Cuihua and Ni Yang at home, she did not feel lonely. But after they went away, Ni Chenggui struggled to adapt.
Returning to an empty home and seeing the deserted yard made her very sad and filled her with an indescribable grief.
Perhaps, she really needed to find someone to share her life with.
“What about you? Yangyang’s mom? You are several years younger than I am. Haven’t you thought about finding someone too? Is it because Yangyang disagrees?” Ni Chenggui inquired.
Ni Yang didn’t look like someone unreasonable.
Ni Cuihua replied, “It’s not that Yangyang disagrees. I just don’t want to find someone right now. Little Yunyun is still very young, and Yangyang hasn’t stabilised her career yet. It’s not the right time to think about these things.”
Ni Chenggui nodded, “That makes sense. But if you meet someone suitable, you could consider it.”
Ni Cuihua smiled, “We’ll see.”
Ni Chenggui then said, “Okay then, I won’t disturb you and Little Yunyun’s sleep. I’m going back to my room. Thank you for Yangyang’s gift. And thank her for always remembering her aunt.”
The familial love her daughter never made her feel was embodied by Ni Yang.
Ni Cuihua escorted Ni Chenggui to the door, “Sister Chenggui, listen to what you’re saying. Aren’t we sisters now? It’s only right for Yangyang to respect you.”
