Rebirth: I Will Win Easily in the Apocalypse-Chapter 4 - 3 Hoarding_2
Chapter 4: Chapter 3 Hoarding_2
After splitting up, Gu Yanzhi and Song Zhao first went to the suburbs to rent two large warehouses. They sent the warehouse address to Gu Yanlin, and had all the goods they had stockpiled delivered there first, before transferring them into the space when no one was around.
Then, the two went to the largest wholesale market in City C.
They purchased 50 tons of rice, 50 tons of wheat flour, 10,000 kilograms of soybean oil, various packages of dried vegetables, 1 ton of dried meat, and 10,000 bags of instant noodles of various flavors, among others.
To avoid arousing the suspicions of the market wholesalers, the two claimed they were in the export business and that these purchases were for shipping abroad to make money from foreigners.
They instructed the wholesalers to deliver the goods in batches over several days to the suburban warehouse for easy collection. The wholesalers were very welcoming of their business and even offered them substantial discounts, considering them major customers who could provide half a year's worth of business in one go.
However, they also feared attracting too much attention and did not purchase too many varieties at this wholesale market. Instead, they planned to visit several other cities to complete their stockpile.
By the time they finished placing their orders at the wholesale market, it was already past 3 p.m. Both were very hungry and found a well-rated hotpot restaurant nearby to eat and drink their fill. Then, under the pretext of giving out employee benefits, they ordered 200 portions of various dishes and hotpot ingredients from the restaurant owner, who closed for the afternoon and evening to pack their order.
When they left, the owner was smiling broadly, happily welcoming them to visit again.
The amount of hotpot ingredients was too large, so Gu Yanzhi called Gu Yanlin to buy a refrigerated truck to come and pick up the goods.
After loading the truck, the three found a deserted spot away from surveillance cameras where Gu Yanzhi transferred all the hotpot ingredients into the space, then drove the refrigerated truck back to the residential area. The security guard at the gate was puzzled by the rich people's odd tastes—not only fancy cars but also refrigerated trucks.
On the third day, Gu Yanzhi, still in his sleep, was awakened by an annoying doorbell ringing.
Although Song Zhao swiftly answered it on the first ring, the irritating sound still woke Gu Yanzhi up.
Yawning, Gu Yanzhi came out of the bedroom and asked, "Who is it?"
"Don't come out without wearing shoes next time," seeing Gu Yanzhi walking barefoot on the cold floor, Song Zhao quickly brought him slippers to wear. While putting them on, he said, "The downstairs security, Gu Qiang and Gu Li are here. They probably want to discuss the shares."
"Oh, then I'll go back to bed. You talk to them, I don't want to see them," Gu Yanzhi turned and went back to the bedroom, afraid of not being able to restrain his murderous intent upon seeing Gu Qiang.

"Mmm, do you want some breakfast? Go wash up, and I'll bring it to your room," Song Zhao had been up since just past 7 a.m., had ordered breakfast, and was keeping it warm in the pot for Gu Yanzhi to eat together.
"Sure, thanks, Brother Zhao," Gu Yanzhi turned his head and smiled at Song Zhao, which left Song Zhao staring, stunned.
It was nice. These past few days, Gu Yanzhi had been preoccupied with worries, lively only during meals. It had been many days since Gu Yanzhi had smiled so brightly, which instantly lightened Song Zhao's heavy heart.
"Bang, bang, bang..." The knocking sound brought Song Zhao back to reality.
But he didn't immediately respond to the knocking. First, he arranged the breakfast on a tray and brought it into the room before opening the door.
As he entered, Gu Li complained, "Little Zhao, what were you doing? We were knocking for a long time and you didn't hear us?"
"It seems he has charmed our Gu family's little princess and is on cloud nine now, not bothering to notice us poor relatives," Li Hong added sarcastically along with Gu Li.
Li Hong was filled with resentment, having thought they would acquire the shares without spending a dime, but now not only had to exhaust their savings but also allow their sister-in-law to meddle.
"If you didn't come to talk about shares, please leave," Song Zhao said coldly.
Knowing that Mr. and Mrs. Gu had been schemed against and died because of these people he was facing, Song Zhao no longer had any regard for them and wished he could kill them. Only his constant good management of his expressions prevented them from suspecting anything.
"Of course we came to discuss the shares. Song Zhao, let's settle on 100 billion. Our family and aunt together will buy it, keeping the Gu family's assets from falling into outsider's hands. We're making it easy for you, little thief," Gu Yanqi followed them and briskly said before Gu Qiang could speak, his tone filled with superiority and disdain.
"Please leave," said Song Zhao, sipping his tea nonchalantly.
"Slap!"
Gu Qiang slapped Gu Yanqi on the back of his head. "Apologize to your Brother Zhao."
"I'm sorry," Gu Yanqi said grudgingly.
Since he was a kid, he had disliked Song Zhao. Although he was the real Gu family member, his uncle and aunt had always treated the outsider better than him. So when out of their sight, Gu Yanqi often bullied Song Zhao. But it was just big talk; fearing Song Zhao might complain, he never dared to actually act on it.
"Uncle, have you decided what you want today?" Song Zhao didn't bother with Gu Yanqi, instead directly addressing Gu Qiang. The ignored Gu Yanqi silently cursed to himself.
"Little Zhao, although your younger brother Yanqi spoke harshly, what he said is true, we indeed can't come up with two-hundred billion. We and your aunt scrounged together, and at most can manage one hundred. Let's settle on that, or maybe leave you a bit more shares," Gu Qiang suggested.
"Yes, yes, Little Zhao, one hundred should do, it's not a small amount. If your uncle and auntie were here, they would definitely agree," Gu Li hastily added.
Song Zhao glanced at Gu Qiang, then spoke offhandedly, "I've already told you last time, it's 200 billion. Today is the final deadline. If uncle and aunt can't afford it, let's not waste each other's time. I've already finalized it with President Zhang."
