Rebirth: CEO's Sweetheart Reaches the Life Pinnacle!-Chapter 202 - 191: She’s Quite Determined
Chapter 202: Chapter 191: She’s Quite Determined
It was the start of the term at W University. Li Si arrived early at her new school, completed the tedious transfer procedures, and walked out of the office, inhaling the fresh, unfamiliar air. She couldn’t help but marvel at how everything felt like a new beginning.
Strolling through the campus, this place was so much larger than her previous school, North City University. In every aspect, it was several levels higher. If schools could be rated in stars, her old school would be three stars, but this one was at least five stars.
The students who had returned to campus early walked in groups of twos and threes, their faces brimming with youthful energy.
Finally, she reached the girls’ dormitory. At this school, the rule was that if you were a local student and didn’t want to live in the dorms, you could opt out, but dormitory fees were still mandatory.
So, after paying the fees, Li Si was assigned a dorm bed. She was delighted about this—at least she would get to know some people. For someone entering a new environment alone, this was perfect!
Li Si registered with the plump dorm manager auntie on the first floor and then headed upstairs to the second floor. As she walked down the hallway, some girls glanced curiously at her. Each time, she responded with a friendly smile and nodded. Finally, she found her assigned dorm room—Room 208.
The light-blue door was slightly ajar. She knocked gently, and a crisp female voice called out from inside, "Come in!"
Li Si pushed the door open and stepped in. The room wasn’t big. Standing by the window was a slightly chubby yet fair-skinned girl with a cute crooked ponytail, looking at her curiously. "Who are you looking for?"
Li Si smiled and introduced herself, "I’m the new transfer student, Li Si!"
"Oh! Hello, hello, I’m Xiao Le!" Xiao Le approached her warmly and introduced herself enthusiastically.
Li Si glanced around. There were four white bunk beds, with a bed on top and a desk below. The top bunks had a thin layer of sky-blue foam mattresses, while the lower desks and cabinets provided storage space. Only the bed near the bathroom door was unoccupied. "Is this bed taken?"
"Nope! What’s your major?"
"English!" Li Si replied as she started tidying up.
She first went to the bathroom to wet a towel and wiped down the bed, desk, and cabinet. Then she placed her study supplies into the cabinet.
Since she went home every day, she only brought two pieces of clothing suitable for the current season as backups and tucked them into the cabinet.
"Our whole dorm is in the same major, too! Li Si, which dorm were you in before? I haven’t seen you around!" Xiao Le kept trying to help, but Li Si gently refused with a smile.
"I transferred here. Please take care of me from now on!" She spread her bedsheet and pillow on the bed, letting out a breath of relief. Now she had a place to rest during lunch breaks or between classes. It didn’t look too bad!
Classes officially began tomorrow. Thinking about facing so many strangers, Li Si felt a little nervous. Knowing that her roommates were in the same major was a relief—at least she’d have people to guide her and make things easier.
Xiao Le waved her arms enthusiastically from below her own bed. "Don’t worry about it! Just stick with me, and I promise you’ll eat well, have fun, and study hard!"
Li Si’s first impression of Xiao Le was very positive. She liked how cheerful and outgoing she was. Closer up, she noticed Xiao Le’s eyelashes were incredibly long, and her almond-shaped eyes sparkled with a bright, clear kindness. She seemed like someone worth befriending.
"Thanks in advance! It’s already noon—should we head out for lunch?"
"Sure! Just wait a sec!"
Xiao Le turned to her desk by the window, picked up a little bag with a cartoon bear design, and slung it onto her back.
Walking out of the dorm building together, she casually linked arms with Li Si and asked as they walked, "Li Si, where are you from?"
"North City! How about you?" Li Si turned to look at her, guessing from her accent that she might be a local.
"North City, huh? I heard it’s really cold there, right? I’m from Beijing. My mom makes amazing braised pig trotters and Coca-Cola chicken wings. I’ll bring some for you when I go home during the holidays, okay?"
"Sounds great! It is pretty cold there. So, what are we eating?" Li Si’s face was full of envy. Seeing Xiao Le like this, she must have a wonderful mom. It reminded her of an old elementary school friend, making her feel even closer to her.
Xiao Le grinned mischievously. "I’m a total carnivore—what about you? If you’re the same, we can go eat bone stew near the school gate. But if you’re more into light vegetarian food, we can head to the second school cafeteria!"
Li Si felt like she’d met a kindred spirit. "I love meat! Let’s go with the bone stew!"
Xiao Le burst into laughter. "You’re absolutely my type! Unlike the other two roommates—they’re already skinny as sticks, yet they’re still obsessed with dieting, eating like cats at every meal. Finally, I’ve got someone to share a proper meal with!"
